Welcome to the Quest for 6,000,000? I can hear you asking, "What's the Quest for Six Million?" Well, I'm about to tell you.

It is disputed whether it is possible to score a total of 6,000,000 points in Chip's Challenge. The closest that anybody's ever gotten is in the high 5,900,000's. So Chip's Challenge players are busy, shaving seconds off their times to try and increase their scores.

"What does the time have to do with the score?" you might ask next. Well, I'm going to tell you that, too.

When you complete a level, 10 points are added for each second remaining on the clock- for instance, if there are 124 seconds remaining, you receive 1,240 points. If the level is untimed, you receive no time bonus. In addition to the time bonus, there is a level bonus. The level bonus is 500 points multiplied by the level you just completed- i.e. if you finished level 100, you'd receive 50,000 points as a level bonus. These two bonuses are added together to make up your final score for the level.

NOTE: If you die or restart, your level bonus is decreased by 20 percent. To avoid this, always press CTRL-P and then CTRL-N (or vice versa) if you die or make a mistake. This tricks the game into thinking that you're starting the level for the first time, and you'll receive a full level bonus instead of a partial one.
