    • Do you know the purpose of the type of sheep that you raise?
  • The lesson that will be taught today, will allow you to see the importance of breed differences.

Today, we are going to look at several different breeds of sheep and their classifications.

 

I want each of you to come get a red, yellow, and orange marker to fill in the breed classification.  Red equals a meat breed, yellow equals a fiber (wool or hair) breed, and orange is a dual purpose. 

Meat: any black wool

Wool: white wool only, better quality

Dual Purpose: white wool but better meat than wool types
