* First song performed: In 1975 Sara made her stage debut in her hometown singing the Mary Kay Place hit "Baby Boy".
* Early performaces: To earn extra money for the family, Sara fronted a band with her brothers. The boys backed her up on guitar, bass and banjo. They played American Legion Halls, talent contests, and PTA meetings - when Sara was just 4 years old. As time rolled on, so did Sara - in a motor home. The 10 year old and the rest of Evans clan rambled down the Missouri highways to gigs in an RV with The Sara Evans Show painted on the side.
* Big break: In 1995 Sara was earning a living by waiting tables in Nashville when country music legend Harlan Howard heard her sing a demo of "Tiger By The Tail". Sara's voice blew him away. He took her tape to RCA Records and a few months later, she had a contract in her hands.
* Goals for the future: Tinseltown. Sara says she'd like to star in a movie some day.
* Most important lesson she's learned: "Have a relationship with Jesus and make it your top priority. I've also learned that it doesn't pay to stress and worry, just go where God leads you." Sara adds, "And mainly this past year, I learn being a mommy rules!"
* Worst experience on the road: "We broke down on the grapevine, a winding stretch of California highway, right after I found out my dog had been run over and killed back home." Sara explains. "And then we got picked up in a new bus with 'Satan' as our driver. It was a very bad day."
* Best advice you can give: "There's no question, family comes first," Sara says with hesitation. "The career will take of itself."
* Special honor: Speaking at her high school for their 1999 graduation and when fans tell her they pray for her.
* Career highlights: Having a No. 1 single last year, with one of her own songs, and singing with Vince Gill, Martina McBride, George Jones, and Alison Krauss.
* Never leaves home without: a burp cloth for Avery, lipstick, a hair clip and her check card.
* Singer who she admires most: "The one that comes to mind today is Celine Dion because of her incredible work ethic and her awesome spirit," Sara says. "She looks into the camera and sings to you and its like she's saying, 'Yes you and I could be great friends!'"
