Dear Colleagues,
It is my great pleasure and honour that Bangladesh has been given the opportunity to host the 2nd Second South Asian Regional Conference of Dermatology (SARCD) of SARAD which will be held on February 7-9th , 2002.
SARAD, an association of league of Dermatological Societies was founded in late 1999 to establish & promote close personel and professional relations among Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists of the SAARC Countries and also for betterment and globalization of South Asian Dermatology to International Standard.
The 2nd SARCD conference in Dhaka is hoped to be a mini international conference in this new millennium.
The Conference will provide an opportunity to share knowledge, experience & culture among the regional countries & outside and also to help developing common strategies towards advancement of education, care & prevention of skin, leprosy & sexually transmitted diseases including HIV of the region.
The scientific program for this conference will focus on current topic and advances in dermatology, especially in tropical infectious diseases, STD, cosmetic and surgical dermatology. Renouned and outstanding dermatologists from South Asia region and the other countries will be invited to share their knowledge and experience in the plenary lectures.
Dhaka- the Conference City, capital of Bangladesh has exciting history and rich culture. It is known as the city of mosques and moslin. Dhaka has many attractive places to visit. Agenda for Second SARAD General Body Meeting
during 2nd SARCD
7-9 Feb.2002, in Dhaka, Bangladesh

The tentative agendas to be discussed for 2nd SARAD General Body meeting, during 2nd SARCD to be held from 7-9 Feb.2002, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, are as follows as per article 9 of the SARAD Constitution. .

1] Election of regular members to the 2nd Executive Committee on recommendation of the member societies. [Accordingly as per article 5 (a) representatives attending 3rd SARAD Executive Committee meeting are requested to be prepared with list of three members in official letter from their respective associations/societies].

2] General Secretary's report.

3] Treasure's report and statement of accounts.

4] Transact any other business brought to the attention by the executive committee.

5] Resolution if any. Notice of every resolution to be moved at the meeting should reach the secretary at least 30 days prior to the date of meeting.

Quorum of the meeting shall be 25 members.

As per article 6 respected members representing the above mentioned meeting are also kindly requested to collect U S Dollars 100 only, from their respective associations/ societies for SARAD membership to be deposited during the meeting.

Third Executive Committee Meeting of South Asian Regional Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists. SARAD

Third Executive Committee Meeting of South Asian Regional Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists, SARAD was presided over by the President Dr. Vijaya Bahadur Rajbhandari. Prof. Rishi Bhargava and Prof. Amar Kant Jha of India, Prof. T.S.Haroon of Pakistan and Dr. Antoinette Perera of Sri Lanka did not attend. Special invitees during this meeting were Prof. Bhusan Kumar, Immediate Past President of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists and Dr. Jayamini Seneviratne, Secretary, Sri-Lanka Association of Dermatologists. .

 

Minutes of the Meeting.


Venue: Meeting Hall, Dermatology Department, BSMMU, Dhaka, Bangladesh.


Date: -7.2.2002 Time: 12 Noon.


1) The meeting was declared open by Dr. V.B.Rajbhandari, President, SARAD. .
2) Secretary General, Dr. Anil Kumar Jha presented the annual report. .
3) Dr. Mahesh Shah presented the Treasurer's report. .
4) Discussion took place about Second and Third SARCD Conferences. The Third South Asian Regional Conference of Dermatology SARCD III will take place in the month of October 2003 at Sri Lanka. .
5) Collections of nominations of three members from SAARC Dermatological Associations / Societies and the registration fees of SAARC Dermatological Associations / Societies to SARAD was received. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Pakistan all gave three nominations and US $100 as registration fees. India did not give the nominations and registration fees as IADVL had not approved of it as yet. The matter is to be discussed at the IADVL Meet at Calcutta in January 2003. Till then, the President, General Secretary and Past President of IADVL have been made co-opted members. During this meeting minutes were prepared for different posts for next SARAD Executive Committee which was to be presented to the next SARAD General Body Meeting for approval. .
6) The meeting thanked Prof. A. Z. M. M. Islam, President, Bangladesh Dermatological Society, BDS and members of the Executive Committee for organizing the Third Executive Committee Meeting of SARAD and for holding the Second SARCD Conference at a very short notice. .
7) The meeting also thanked the President and members of the outgoing Executive Committee for its conduct during the past two years. .

His Excellency Prof. A. Q. M. Badruddoza Chaudhury, President of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh inaugurated the Second South Asian Regional Conference of Dermatology SARCD II at Dhaka Sheraton on 7.2.2002. Dr. Khandekar Mossharaf Hossian, Hon. Health and Family Welfare Minister of Bangladesh had also attended the ceremony. There were delegates from all SAARC Countries and abroad.

 

 

Second SARAD General Body Meeting

More than 50 members had attended the meeting. The required quorum is 25. .

Fourth Executive Committee Meeting

 

Venue:- IADVL Conference site, Kolkata

Date:-

      Minutes of the meeting:

  1. Prof. A. Z. M. M. Islam, President SARAD, declared the meeting open.
  2. Prof. M.A.Wadud, the Secretary General of SARAD presented the annual report.
  3. Representatives from the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists IADVL expressed their willingness to hold the fourth SARCD conference in India. Venue will be in New Delhi and it will be held sometime in January 2005.
  4. The meeting was declared closed by the President SARAD
