Her Majesty Queen Aishwarya Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah graciously inaugurating the First South Asian Regional Conference of Dermatology held at Kathmandu from 1st till 4th October 1999 at King Birendra International Convention Center.

The First General Body Meeting

At the General Body Meeting during the First South Asian Regional Conference of Dermatology SARCD I held at Kathmandu, Nepal on 2nd October 1999, the formation of the SOUTH ASIAN REGIONAL ASSOCIATION OF DERMATOLOGISTS, VENEREOLOGISTS AND LEPROLOGISTS (SARAD) was passed. The logo of SARCD will be the logo of SARAD also. The following have been elected for the Ad-hoc Committee:

There were no representations from Bhutan and Maldives. The Second SARCD will take place in India in the year 2001. The respective home country will decide the venue and date later.

The above meeting was chaired and co-ordinated by Prof. Gurmohan Singh.

Minutes of the Meeting
Venue: King Birendra International Convention Center, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Date: - 2.10.1999

1. Meeting annually of the Committee.

2. General body meeting is open for all the members.

3. Membership and its fees:

One has to be the member of the respective association/ society of the country first then that member is entitled to get the membership of SARAD through the respective association/ society.

Life members------------------- 50 Dollars

Ordinary members----------------10 Dollars (annual)

4. Affiliation with ILDS should be sought.

5. Secretariat of SARAD: It will be stationed at Kathmandu, Nepal.

6. Formation of Constitution.

Ad-hoc constitution will be prepared before the beginning of the next millenium.

Passed by Ad-hoc Committee Meeting by forming a sub-committee for preparing the Ad-hoc constitution.

Dr. W. D. H. Perera of Sri Lanka is the Convenor for making the Ad-hoc Constitution of SARAD.

7. Pads with logo and membership forms are to be printed.

8. Ad-hoc Committee has decided to hold the Third SARCD in Sri Lanka in the year 2003.

9. Next annual meeting of Ad-hoc Committee will be held in Sri Lanka in 2000. The date will be notified later on.

NOTICE

The second SARAD Executive Committee meeting is scheduled to take place at Colombo, Sri Lanka on the 11th and 12th of November 2000, during the National Conference of Sri Lanka Association of Dermatologists. All members of the Executive Committee of SARAD are requested to reach Colombo by the 10th of November. The agenda of the meeting will be sent later. We thank Dr. W.D.H. Perera for arranging this meeting.

Venue: Sri Lanka Medical Association Building, Colombo, Sri Lanka
Date: -11.11.2000

1. The proposed SARAD Constitution has been approved after deliberations and modifications.

2. Second South Asian Regional Conference of Dermatology SARCD will take place at Chennai, India during the month of January 2002.

3. The Third South Asian Regional Conference of Dermatology SARCD will take place in the month of October 2003 at Sri Lanka.

4. SARAD Secretariat will be permanently placed at Kathmandu, Nepal.

5. The meeting thanked Dr. W. D. H. Perera , Convenor for preparing SARAD Constitution.

6. The meeting thanked Dr. T. T. Kasturiratne, President, Sri Lanka Association of Dermatologists SLAD and members of the Executive Committee of SLAD for organizing the Second Executive Committee Meeting of SARAD at Colombo, Sri Lanka.

7. The meeting approved to make President's Medallion.
