Army Men Advance. It was one of my fondest memories back when i was using
Army Men 2 and 1 on the Gamboy Color. Who would have thought that 3DO would
make another Army Men game. Thankfully i was glad. The game has you going
through about 10 missions with weapons ranging from assault rifles, grenades, rocket
launchers and even being able to drive a tank. You can even choose if you want to
be a male soldier or a female soldier. If you liked the previous Army Men titles then
your bound to love Army Men Advance. Sure the graphics may look a little plain, but
it does give it a nice cel shaded look to it. The gameplay is good but the amount of
exploring there is to be done will leave you with worn out fingers. The sound quality
is poor, there hardly is any sound. Apart from when you complete a mission or fail a
mission. The sound effects that the weapons make also sound realistic. The difficulty
factor can range from easy at first to like impossible. It would be a good idea to
explore everything in the level so that you don't get stuck somewhere. The control is
okay but every now and then it can annoy you. Here is my verdict of
Army Men Advance.
Gameplay: 70% Overall, Army Men Advance is still a pretty good shoot'em up. But
Sound: 65% since there is no multiplayer you may feel a little bored when you
Control: 89% go to shoot someone's head off. 3DO did good this time but if they
