| GBA REVIEW ----------------- Game: Advance Wars Developer: Nintendo Out:Now ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Review by Saq ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Advance Wars is a stratedgy game that has major attitude. You control Andy, Max or Sami in a bad situation. Go into VS Mode and when you see the selection of maps you'll wonder at how your gonna overcome your enemy. Some missions allow you to have allies or special attributes to your soldiers, helicopters, tanks, ships, subs, and it depends on what character you pick. There is even a Field Training mode for people who don't have a clue what there doing. It helps you to understand all the basic's of Advance Wars.. How to command your troops, when a good time to attack is, learning when to refuel your tanks, soldiers (refuel soldiers with food that is). Link Mode is for people who like a really long match. At some stages the match might go for so long that you'll have to stick both SP's on your recharger while your still playing. Even a match that looks simplistic can take up to about 37 to 42 days. Picking the right units will depend on the land structer, sea and mountains etc. Some times when your on a sea map, you'll have to get Landers to put your units onboard, and a sub and battleship. This makes for the perfect sneak attack if planned out right. The gameplay could be as long as one year. You could be still on the first map, coming up with every possible stratedgy to tackle your enemy. The sound is quite fun but remember this is based around beating your enemy. The music can sound a little harsh when they pull out special moves or your doing a boss map. The difficulty is always gonna be all over the place. Some missions may be easy, but it depends if you have any allies to help you out. Other missions could probably see you up against 3 computer players and just you. The odds of winning aren't that big but if you stratedgise where you put your units and where there defending then something good is bound to come your way. Advance Wars is for any Stratedgised gamer who loves there stratedgy games. Sure it may be as good as Final Fatasy tactics advance but i reckon they play nearly the same, except FFTA has more storyline depth. Theres no need to complain about the controls cause all you do is press A here, move right there etc. Here is my verdict of Advance Wars. Gameplay: 100% Advance Wars is any stratedgy gamers dream who loves to think Sound: 92% of 'what will go wrong if i put that there?' Another fantastic feature is Control: 98% the link em up where you can show off and beat your friends. One Difficulty: 86% last good feature is Field Training. Best GBA Stratedgy game ever. -------------------------------- By Saq Copyright 2006 -------------------------------- Click the images below to see some screenshots. |
