Just a little over 2 years old, Glenview Farm in Dunnellon, FL, is a small, personable equine facility of woods and pasture, within easy riding distance to the trails in the 5,000 acre Goethe Forest.  Glenview sits on a slight hill overlooking a lovely "glen", thus the name, derived from the Scottish or Welsh word for valley with trees.

Glenview is home to the American Quarter Horse and particularly Foundation bred Quarter Horses and horses of color, buckskin, dun or palomino.  There's an occasional National Champion caliber Registered Shetland pony roaming the paddocks and you don't have to look too hard to find the real owners of the farm, the Pembroke Welsh Corgis!

Diane Fleming, the instructor/owner of Glenview, travels a 4 county region giving riding instruction in English Hunt or Saddle Seat, Western, and Jumping.  Diane is a graduate of Southern Seminary Junior College, where she majored in Animal Science and carried a double major in Teaching Horsemanship.  Having been a riding instructor from the age of 16, Diane is very knowledgeable and can help you get the best out of yourself and your horse!

Very active in 4-H for 10 years, Diane competed with a Purebred Arabian gelding, an American Quarter Horse, and a 3-gaited Saddlebred, qualifying all of them for regional and state competition.  After graduation from college, she worked for a time at a foxhunting stable in New Jersey where in addition to keeping the foxhunters fit, she coached a junior rider and her pony on the "A" circuit.  After a couple of years in the heat and humidity of New jersey, she went to California and worked as a show groom, and assisted in the

ground training at a top Eqyptian Arabian breeding farm, traveling to Scottsdale, Pomona, Wittier and all the major Arabian shows in California.

Having received a job offer in Pennsylvania, Diane managed and taught lessons at Greenmoor Common Equestrian Center for 3 years.  A 32 acre Hunter/Jumper and all breed boarding and training facility, which served the community around Upper St. Clair in Pittsburgh.  GCEC had an active show team of adults and children on the "B" and "A" circuits, held monthly schooling shows, and hosted clinics with international clinicians.  In addition, some of the students were very active B and C Pony Club members, and of the 110 weekly walk-in students, most also showed locally.

After a 10 year hiatus, due to a career change, Diane once again became active in teaching and showing in Warrenton Virginia.  While showing and competing her Quarter Horse, she also had a small group of students, ranging from 10-15 years of age, showing on the local hunter and western open show circuits.  One of these riders was recently named Children's Hunter of the Year in Virginia.  In the meantime, Diane's show horse, whom she trained, was busy garnering points and all-around awards in AQHA competition and just 2 points shy of her R.O.M. in Western Pleasure, when she was sold to a nationally known and respected QH trainer.

Now a Florida resident for almost 6 years, Diane has put her "gypsy" roots here in the rustic town of Dunnellon, once again free-lancing and teaching lessons to adults and children in the community.

A graduate of the "old school" of horsemanship, where it takes time and patience to develop a rider and horse to their fullest potential, not tricks and gimmicks, she'll help you make, not just break your horse.  Basic dressage (definition: training) techniques are heavily incorporated into her program whether you ride English or Western, to help you achieve the ultimate of a SAFE, happy, rewarding ride!  Diane is also a C.E.S.M.T., Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist!

Over 25 years of experience in the horse industry assures you that a competent, trained, experienced, and knowledgeable instructor is teaching you.  Whether you want to learn how to ride more safely on a trail or in your backyard, or compete at the regional or national levels, Diane can help you achieve your ridings goals.
