Can I
keep shooting when my licence has expired but I haven’t received my
replacement?
If your licence is about to expire, it is vitally important that you get the paperwork back to the Firearms Registry BEFORE the expiry date of your current licence. If you do so, then you are legally allowed to continue shooting with your expired licence until such time as your new one is issued. However, if your licence has expired and you have not yet received your new one, we as a club will require proof that your licence renewal has been received by the Firearms Registry in the correct timeframe. You will ordinarily get a letter of acknowledgement from them, or you will have the letter to present to the RTA for your licence issue. A copy of either of these given to us will be sufficient for us to allow you to keep shooting.
Can I
use my membership certificate as a proof of club membership?
The membership certificates are a club-only document and do not constitute a legal current proof of membership. This can only be done by a signed and dated letter from the club Secretary or club Captain. Should you need such a membership confirmation, please contact the club and a letter of membership confirmation will be issued.
