9-7-99 SRU: Well Dressed By Bashful Jack Edward Wilson was a relatively happy man. He had a good job and a wonderful wife. They had not been blessed with children yet but that was just a matter of time, he was sure. Jack really enjoyed his job, it was something he liked doing and he was good at it. He worked for a good company that treated it's employees well. You'd think he had the perfect life and you'd be right, except for one little thing. Jack wished he was a woman. Now Jack was straight, he had no desire to have sex with a man. He loved his wife and enjoyed the lovemaking they shared on a regular basis. It was different than that. Jack's company operated out of a large building with a huge staff. At least half of them were women, many young and single. There was an unofficial competition between the women in his company to see who could be best dressed on any one single day. While casual attire was allowed in the company dress code, the ladies preferred smart business suits and professional looking dresses. Very few wore slacks or jeans, even on dress down days. Most of the men were highly appreciative of the competition and even circulated 'ballots' on occasion until the practice was halted in fear of a sexual harassment suit. Jack enjoyed the daily parade of well-dressed women in and out of his department, but for a different reason, he wished he could be part of it. Jack wanted to be a woman. Not a cross dresser, Jack stood over 6 foot tall and he was far too heavy and hairy to ever pass for a woman. Jack wanted to be a real woman, soft and slender, with all the appropriate parts. He also loved his wife very much, he would never leave her. What Jack wanted was to be a girl while he was at work and participate in the best dressed competition but a man with his wife. He knew it was impossible, but he could dream. One day, Jack was in the mall shopping for a birthday gift for his wife, Carol. He was looking for a little boutique that carried a special perfume she liked. It was expensive and hard to find, but it was for Carol, so Jack was determined to find it. Jack rounded a corner to the spot the boutique should be but there was a different store there instead. Jack assumed he had made a wrong turn, he began to leave when something caused him to look closer at the store. It was very strange looking, it didn't have a wide open front like most mall stores, it had an old fashion wooden door. The sign above the shop read Spells-R-Us, in old English script. Jack stared at the store for several minutes, trying to decide if he should go inside. Jack finally walked into the little shop. Just inside the door, Jack felt a shiver run up his spine, the old saying, "someone just walked on your grave" ran through his mind. Overhead, a tiny brass bell tinkled as the door struck it. "Good afternoon Jack, nice of you to drop in. It is a lovely spring day isn't it. The trees filling out with leaves, the birds returning from the south, the hem lines dashing up the legs of beautiful women. Makes you glad you're alive and a man, doesn't it?" Jack jumped at the sound of the voice using his name. He spun around and was face to face with a very old man. He had long gray hair and a matching beard. His face was wrinkled but his eyes were bright and sparkled. He wore what looked just like a bathrobe. "How did you know my name?" Jack asked after catching his breath. "Jack, the store's name is Spells-R-Us, I'm a Wizard, how hard is that to figure out. You're not an engineer, are you?" The old man asked. "No, I'm a Human Resources manager. What do you mean you're a wizard? Do you do magic shows, make bunnies appear out of hats?" No, Jack, I practice magic, the old fashion kind. I can cast spells, sell potions, read incantations, all that stuff. I've got a cauldron around here somewhere if you want to see it." The Wizard said. "No thanks, I was looking for another store, thanks just the same, I'll be leaving now." Jack turned on his heel to get the hell out of the store before the old guy got violent. "Leaving, Jack, before I tell you how you can become a woman, part time?" the Wizard said. Jack stopped with his hand on the door. He had never told ANYONE about his secret dream, how did this lunatic know? "Lunatic, Jack? That's not very nice. I have no particular moon fetish. I admit I have made a few people more sensitive to moon beams for various reasons and in various ways, but that's just part of the job. No Jack, I know what your deepest desire is and I can help you fulfill it, if you're interested?" The Wizard said. Jack felt sweat pop out on his upper lip. He had turned back around and was staring at the old man. "Are you serious? You realize I just want to be a woman while I'm at work, I love my wife and I want to maintain my marriage? We hope to have children someday." Jack said. "I know exactly what you want. You want to be a young, attractive, woman who gets high marks in the so-called best-dressed competition at your company. You want people, not just men, to look at you and think what a pretty woman you are and remark on how well you dress. That about sums it up, doesn't it?" the Wizard asked. Swallowing hard, Jack nodded his head. The old man knew his greatest longing to the letter. "Is it possible?" Jack asked. "Of course, all it takes is a little magic and a lot of money." "Oh, I see, you sell me a gimmick that by the time I find out it doesn't work, you're long gone and so is my money. No deal. See ya later." Jack again turned to go. This time the door would not open. He struggled and pulled with all his might and nothing gave. Facing the Wizard, Jack began to get upset when the Wizard handed him a ring. "Jack, I could be insulted by your baseless accusations, I could make you very sorry you said such things, but I won't, not this time. The price of such fits of anger is never worth the cost of putting up with the aftermath. Try the ring on Jack. If it doesn't work, then the door will open for you and our visit will be over. In addition, I believe this is what you were looking for when you came into my store to begin with." The Wizard handed Jack a small sack, it held a one ounce bottle of the expensive, hard to find perfume Jack was looking for. "How much for the perfume?" Jack asked. "It's a gift. Please, try the ring." The old man said. Jack slipped the bottle of perfume into his jacket pocket and then slid the ring onto his right ring finger. His head spun for a second and then he felt a draft between his legs. He glanced down and found a pair of breasts pushing out the front of his suit coat. The odd part was, they didn't feel or look strange. The jacket was cut to accept them. The draft was because he was a woman and wearing a skirt. It was a simple explanation. Jaqui looked up at the Wizard and smiled. "You made me a woman and it feels natural, as if I had been one all my life. I said I wanted to be a woman just at work though. You've made me a real woman." Jaqui said. "Yes and no," the Wizard said "the ring shifted reality to where Jack E. Wilson is Jaqui Wilson. Same job, same life, almost. While you wear the ring, you are Jaqui Wilson, a real live, fully functional, woman. "Fully functional, are you saying I'll have periods?" Jaqui asked, pale faced. "Of course, real women have them every 28 days or so, you will to. You will also get pregnant if you do not use some form of birth control. If that happens, taking the ring off will no longer shift you back. You will be Jaqui for the rest of her life." The old man said. "Take the ring off, and you shift back to the reality where Jack Wilson lives and works. Everyone knows you as the person you appear to be. The reality shift follows you around and includes everyone who comes close enough to see you or you see them or anyone who hears your voice. Leave the ring on for more than forty eight hours and the reality shift becomes permanent also." The Wizard said. "What about my wife while I'm Jaqui? What happens to her?" "Anyone who does not see Jaqui or hear her voice will believe that Jack Wilson is the man they know and work with or love. When they see Jaqui or hear her voice, they will become part of the reality shift and know Jaqui as the co-worker, friend or in you're wife's case, a stranger." 'A stranger, I don't even know her?" Jaqui asked. "You will remember everything about your life as Jack Wilson when you are Jaqui but she would not have met you. Remember, you met on a blind date in college. There would be no reason for the two of you to meet." The Wizard said. "But that is just if she hears Jaqui's voice or sees her, otherwise, she still believes she is married to Jack Wilson." "Okay, can I see what I look like?" Jaqui asked. The old man uncovered a large full length mirror and stepped aside. Jaqui smiled at her reflection, it was familiar and at the same time new. She was tall for a woman, maybe 5' 10, she had dark blonde hair that was cut short, just reaching her collar. She was very well dressed in a navy blue suit with a pleated skirt that displayed 3 inches of thigh above her knees. She was wearing black patent leather pumps with 2 inch heels and her makeup and jewelry set off her face and outfit to a 'T'. "This is just perfect, I love the way I look. How long will I look this way now?" She asked. "Until you take off the ring. Remember the warnings I gave you. There is no reversal for this spell. If you get stuck, you are stuck, period." The wizard said. Jaqui removed the ring and after a moment's dizziness, he was Jack again. "How much?" Jack asked. "$1000.00" The Wizard said. "That much, that's a lot of money. How would I explain it to my wife?" "I don't know. I paid a hefty price for that ring. The ring has all the power I have shown to you and is worth that price easily." The Wizard said. 'It was sold to me under false pretenses though,' he thought to himself, 'it was supposed to have additional power to justify the high cost, it does not have those powers. I attempted to return it to the salesman but he refused to refund my money.' "She won't try to trick me again." The Wizard said outloud. "Who won't try to trick you?" Jack asked, confused. "Oh, just thinking out loud. Pay no mind. Shall I wrap the ring or will you wear it?" The old man said. Not seeing the sense of what the Wizard was saying, Jack decided to pay and leave. "You accept credit cards I assume?" Jack asked. "Of course, and we even offer our own card with several custom designs. I am especially proud of the one with the face of the wolf on it. Would you like an application? The Spells-R-Us Visa card is accepted at magic shops and many other fine retail establishments around the world and netherworld, including 27 other realities." "Uh, no, thank you, I have too many credit cards as it is." Jack said. He signed the receipt and took the ring and left. On his way out of the mall he stopped at a gift shop and had the perfume wrapped. The girl told him it would be just a few minutes. Jack left the store and when he came back, he had shifted to Jaqui. The young girl handed her the wrapped package and complimented her on her suit. Jaqui walked out to her car, the same car she (and Jack) had owned for the last year and got in. She didn't have to move the seat up or adjust the mirror even though there was almost five inches difference in their heights. Jaqui returned to work and completed the tasks she had started that morning. She was complimented by male and female co-workers alike on her outfit. Jaqui had no trouble walking in heels, sitting, behaving or talking as a woman. it was all natural to her. Even when she went to the restroom and touched up her makeup, it was second nature. She did notice her breasts riding in her bra and the feeling of the skirt moving across her nylon clad legs. These were new sensations that she enjoyed and soon grew used to. When 5:00PM came, she left for home. While stopped at a railroad crossing, waiting for a slow train to pass, Jaqui noticed a young man staring at her from a car next to her. She looked at him and smiled and he returned the smile. Jaqui then took the ring off. Her vision swam for a moment and Jack was seated in the car. The same young man was looking in Jack's direction but not smiling. He never gave any indication that he saw anything out of the ordinary. Jack locked the ring in his glove compartment for safekeeping. There was no need to take it in the house. For the next several weeks, Jack was happier than he had been in a long time. He left for work dressed as normal in a suit and tie and Jaqui arrived at work wearing a tasteful dress or ladies business suit that usually showed off her lovely legs and accentuated her 'C' cup breasts. One day, Jack wore jeans to work because they had a cookout planned and jeans were the order of the day. Jaqui arrived at work in a smart denim skirt and red polo top. While they had a satisfying relationship before, Jack and Carol's lovemaking intensified and was more satisfying than ever before. They didn't question it, they just enjoyed. One day, Jaqui had a lunch date with a female co-worker set for the little pub across the street from the office. Her friend was called away at the last minute and left a message at the front door for Jaqui so she wouldn't wait. Jaqui decided to just eat at the bar since the restaurant was so full. Jaqui found herself seated next to a man about her own age named Phil. He was friendly, witty and very pleasant. Jaqui enjoyed her lunch with Phil very much and had to argue with him over paying her own check. Finally, he relented and made her promise that he could pay for the next one. Jaqui agreed. She assumed they would never see each other again. One week later, Jaqui and her friend, Margaret, were in the little restaurant again and they had failed to get a reservation. They found themselves sitting at the bar, next to Phil. Jaqui and Phil again enjoyed lunch and this time she let him buy her meal and he paid for her friend's as well. Jaqui began having lunch with Phil once a week, then twice, then nearly everyday. Something about Phil drew her to him. It was a special feeling she could not explain. "Jaqui, have you and Phil 'done it' yet?" Margaret asked one day. Jaqui blushed at the thought. "Margaret Collins, where do you get such ideas? We just have lunch together, nothing more. I don't even know where he lives. We just have a very nice conversation. You know, I've invited you along several times." "Not for over a month you haven't. You've been keeping Phil boy all to yourself. I don't care what you do with him Jaqui, he's damn fine looking and he has those long fingers, you know what they say about a man with long fingers, don't you?" Margaret asked with a grin. "Yes, he's difficult to buy gloves for. I don't care to continue this discussion, now what business matters did you need to see me about?" Jaqui asked. "Oh, you're no fun, you need to get some, then you'll lighten up a little." Margaret said over her shoulder as she returned to her office. Jaqui sat in her office, with her door closed for sometime after Margaret left. She was doing some intense thinking. 'I'm really Jack,' She thought to herself, 'but I am seeing a man that my friends think I may be having sex with. The strange part about it is, I don't feel upset about the idea. In fact the thought of having sex with Phil is very appealing. That is not possible though. I am married to Carol and I could not bring myself to cheat on her and that is what it would be. I don't care how I try and rationalize it. I would be having sex with another person, period. Today, I tell Phil I can't see him anymore.' Jaqui got to the restaurant early so she could set between the door and Phil. That way, when she got up to leave after telling Phil goodbye, he wouldn't be able to stop her. They had a regular table reserved and the waitress showed her right to it with having to ask her name. Phil was on time as usual. Phil leaned over her and kissed her cheek as he had done for the last month. This was the only physical contact they had. "Phil, there is something I need to tell you, please don't interrupt me." Jaqui started. "Wait, please Jaqui, I'm very thirsty, let me order some tea first." Phil raised his arm and signaled to their waitress. Jaqui's blood froze in her veins. The seam under Phil's sleeve had been repaired, just like the seam on one of Jack's suits, one that looked just like the suit Phil was wearing. "Okay, Jaqui, what's so important?" Phil asked "Just that I want you to know how much I enjoy our lunches. Nothing more." Jaqui said. 'Wait until I get home tonight and see Carol, she must be having an affair with this guy, how else could he get one of my suits?' Jaqui thought to herself. They enjoyed their lunch but Phil could tell that Jaqui was distracted. He tried to get her to talk about it but she refused. Jack got home at his usual time and went straight to his closet. He located the gray suit that he had seen Phil wearing that day at lunch. It even had the gravy stain on the sleeve that Jaqui had placed there while Phil wasn't looking. Jack had the proof in his hands, but he wasn't happy about it. He loved Carol and the thought she was cheating on him, hurt him to the bone. "Carol, we need to talk." Jack said. He was looking down. He didn't want to have this discussion but he couldn't let it go either. "Jack, what's wrong, is it your mother, is someone sick, what is it honey?" Carol asked. "Are you having an affair with a man named Phil?" Jack asked. "What, how… oh my God, Jack, how did you find out? No, I am not having an affair with Phil but you won't believe the truth either I don't think." Carol said. "Try me." Jack said. "I'm Phil." Carol said. Jack blinked. On the face of it, what she said made no sense, but with the knowledge that Jack had, it was possible. "Spells-R-Us?" he said. "Yes, how did you know?" Carol said. "I was just walking around the mall one day and saw this little store. I like antique shops so I went in. There was a funny old man who said he was a Wizard and he said he knew I needed help. I told him that what I needed was a man to drop by every so often and help me lift something or open a jar. You know, handyman type things. You do them when you're around Jack, but a lot comes up during the day when you're at work. That's when he told me about this potion. He said if I drank it, I could become a man just by wearing male clothing. I would look like the man I would be if I had been born a man. Once I took the clothing off, I would become Carol again. He wanted a lot of money for the potion but he let me put it on my new SRU Visa card. They have the fastest approval of any credit card company I have ever seen." "Anyway, I bought the potion and it worked just like he said it would. It was great, I could reach things whenever I needed to just by putting on one of your T-shirts. Then I got to wondering what it would be like to be a man and go out. I started going out to restaurants for lunch, just like I normally do, only I would wear one of your suits or a pair of slacks and a golf shirt. I had a lot of fun, just seeing the way men get treated different." "Then I started having conversations with women. I found that I could talk to them on a different level than as another woman and enjoy it. I began paying for lunches if they would let me, but I never did anything with any of those women, I just had lunch with them." "How did you find out? Did someone see me leaving the house in one of your suits? I tried to be careful." Carol was obviously distraught. Jack sat down beside her and held her in his arms. "Carol, I found out today when you raised your arm to signal the waitress for tea, because you were so thirsty." Jack said. He waited for her to make the connection. "But the only person at the table was Jaqui, Jack? What are you saying? Are you Jaqui?" Carol asked. "Yes, I am." Jack explained about his own trip to Spells-R-Us and why he became Jaqui. "Well, that's more than a little strange. Jack, do you enjoy being Jaqui? Do you want to be Jaqui forever?" Carol asked. "No, I just like the way I feel when I am Jaqui at work. I love you and want to be your husband for as long as you will have me." Jack said. "Jack, wouldn't you like to see what it's like to make love to a man as Jaqui?" Carol asked. Jack was silent for a while. "Yes, I would, I was becoming physically attracted to Phil, I guess because he was really you. We have to be careful, though. If I get pregnant, I'm Jaqui for the rest of HER life, understand?" Jack said. "Well, if I have any of your clothing on for more than twenty four hours, then I become Phil permanently. I was becoming attracted to Jaqui, I would have broke it off today except you seemed so upset, I didn't want to add to your worries just then." Carol said. You know, I was just thinking, we've tried for a long time to make a baby and nothing has worked, maybe this is another way to get there. How do you feel about that?" she said. "Honey, I love you enough to try anything to have a child with you. How about we take turns, first one who gets pregnant, gets to be the wife?" Jack said. "You're on, who goes first?" Carol asked as she kissed him. The Wizard covered his scrying ball with the black cloth and snorted in disgust. He had looked ahead and saw that Jack would become pregnant as Jaqui and they would each become the opposite sex permanently, but they were willing to that voluntarily. What was the fun in that? Just then the little bell tinkled and a beautiful brunette walked in. She had firm full breasts, a slender waist flaring out to wide hips that swayed seductively when she walked. She wore a short red dress with a fair amount of cleavage showing. Her face held a come-hither look and a perpetual smile. Her voice, when she spoke, was a sexy, soft contralto. "When the hell are you going to change me back into a man, you son of a bi…" she sweetly said. Her voice said one thing, her words and face another. "Careful Jennifer, there are worse things to be than a young, beautiful woman, much worse. You have taxed my patience enough these last few month's. It's time for you to get on with your life, settle down, find a husband, have some kids." The Wizard said. "Damn-it, old man, don't call me Jennifer." She cooed. 'Sorry, tell me again, what is your name?" "It's Jennifer, I mean, it's Jenni… it's Jen…". Giving up she went on. "Look, I don't like men that way, I want my old body back. I can't even sound like I'm mad. Everything I say comes out sounding like I'm propositioning some guy. I can't sell anything to anyone they all think I'm trying to seduce them. At least give me control over my voice so I can make a living." She said, in her sexy, soft voice. "I've already explained it to you. You swindled me; I can't let you get away with that. You should have considered the possibility that you might anger a Wizard and come out on the short end of the deal. I cast a spell that can't be broken. I was angry when I did it and I regret it now, but I can't change the spell. I did put in that provision for your voice to revert to your control after you fulfil the one requirement I laid out. It's such a simple thing, even teenagers are doing it now-a days." The Wizard said. "I am not having a baby, no way. I'll talk like this until the day I die. Can't you do anything to help me, please?" She asked in her "come screw me voice." "I can get you a job at a strip joint where you don't have to talk. Those girls make good money and your voice would be an asset to you there." The former salesman turned and headed out of the store promising to be back the next day and the day after that. Of course it sounded like a promise of sex and not a threat. "That'll teach me to lose my temper but he had it coming. I guess I'll go ahead and reverse her libido so she can at least have some fun. Maybe a roll in the hay with a young man will get her off my back." The old man waved his arms in the air and mumbled a few words, unintelligible to most humans. A few minutes later he noticed Jennifer walking out the mall door on the arm of a young man, one of the frat boys from the local college. Maybe she will bring in some more business, he thought.
