6/12/99 This isn't one of my best ones, but it was what I wanted to write at the moment. I came up with the idea for this one around the time I did the Bimboizer, and as you can tell from the Mad Scientists Club and the preincarnator there, I do like to use ray guns occasionally. SRU: The Reverso Ray By Morpheus Elsa Summers sighed and rubbed her slightly arthritic hip wishing that the mall wasn't so big. Carefully the old woman shifted the glasses on her nose into a better position and looked up. She squinted a little, needing a new prescription for her glasses but being too stubborn to get one. In front of her she could see the sign of a store, though she couldn't make it out very clearly. From the angle she was at, the first part of the sign was almost completely obscured by her blurriness, but she managed to make out the last part. It said something R Us. Elsa felt a smile forming on her wrinkled old face. "Ah," she said to herself, "Toys R Us" Just what she needed, she decided. After all, she had to come to the mall for the sole purpose of finding her grandson Joey a birthday present, and what better place to shop for a 7 year old than a toy store. Satisfied that she'd find something inside, Elsa slowly went in, ignorant that the sign said Spells R Us. Elsa squinted again, seeing that someone was behind the counter. After a few seconds she realized that it was an elderly gentleman which relieved her since she knew that too many of those younger clerks had forgotten all about customer service. She thought for a moment that he was wearing a bathrobe, then shook her head sure that her old eyes were playing tricks on her again. Walking through the store, Elsa saw a few things that she was sure shouldn't be in a toy store, mostly antiques and the like. However most of the things around her she didn't see very clearly and found herself walking to one small section almost as if her feet knew the way. Stopping, she found several toys on the shelf and smiled to herself. What caught Elsa's eyes immediately were the several plastic toy ray guns that were sitting there. There seemed to be several different models of ray guns, each with writing on the side and some in different colors. Gently, Elsa picked one up, seeing that it was one of those newfangled battery powered noisemakers. She couldn't help but smiling at that, remembering back when her daughter Nancy had been a kid and made a constant racket. Feeling mischievous, she decided that this would be the perfect gift for Nancy's son Joey. Taking the toy to the counter, Elsa pulled out her wallet hoping that she'd have enough to pay for her purchase. "That will be $2.00 ma'am" the elderly man behind the counter told Elsa. She was surprised that it was so cheap, but certainly happy. As if reading her mind the elderly man said "We're having a clearance sale on some of our toys today." "Why, thank you." Elsa said, handing the money over. "No, thank you for coming, Mrs. Summers." The elderly man said. Elsa turned and walked out the store thinking to herself "What a nice, polite gentleman". After she'd left, she remembered that he'd called her by name and tried to recall where she knew him from. She wasn't sure where and just put it down to her failing memory. Looking down at the bag in her hand, Elsa decided that she'd better make sure that she gave Joey some battery's for his toy as well. Smiling to herself at how much Nancy was going to enjoy Joey's birthday present, Elsa started for home. Several days later, Joey was sitting on the couch, surrounded by shredded wrapping paper. Excitedly, he tore into another one of his birthday presents, disappointed to find another shirt. Tossing the shirt over with the rest of his new clothes, Joey looked as his Mom handed him the last present. "This one's from your Grandma Summers" His mom said, smiling at him. Joey smiled back, then looked at the flowery wrapping paper covering the small shape and winced. Joey hadn't been too thrilled with what he'd gotten for his birthday so far. He'd gotten a couple new toys, but mostly clothes. And looking at the flowery present that his grandma had given him, Joey expected to find another shirt inside. Or socks. Grandma Summers always gave him sweatshirts or socks, and it was expected. Sighing to himself, Joey decided that he might as well get this over with so that he could start playing with his real toys. With a quick yank of his hand, Joey tore the paper free from the box it was covering, and carelessly tossed it behind him. As the last of the paper came free, Joey gasped in surprise. Instead of clothes like usual, his grandma had given him something that he could play with. Jumping up excitedly, Joey cried out "Thank you Grandma." then hugged her. As Joey went back to the box and tore it open, revealing a futuristic looking gray plastic ray gun. Excitedly, he pulled the trigger, disappointed when nothing happened. "You have to put the batteries in it." his grandma said from behind him. Joey looked and didn't see any batteries, then felt disappointed. He'd have to wait until he could play with it. "I have some right here" his grandma said chuckling, pulling them out of her purse and handing them to Joey. Enthusiastically, Joey found the hole for the batteries and started putting them into the toy gun, not noticing the glare that his mom gave to his grandma. Holding the gun, Joey noticed that it said something on the side, and saw asked his grandma what it said. She squinted but said she couldn't read it. Then Joey's mom sighed, picked up the box and said, "It says Reverso Ray" Joey held his gun out and looked at his dad who was grinning and holding Joey's baby sister Suzie. Joey's dad gave him a thumbs up, and Joey grinned back before turning, picking up all his new toys, and running to his bedroom. Nancy shook her head at the antics of her young son as he ran out of the room then looked down at the box still in her hand. Holding it so that the light was better, she saw the directions on the back and started to read them. Nancy looked up wondering just what all that meant. Absently, she began to start cleaning up the mess left from the present opening and moving the clothes her son had left behind to a safe spot. Glancing over at her niece and nephew, Carla and Sean fighting over one of Joey's new toys, Nancy decided that she'd better get the cake served soon or her house might be destroyed. Joey set his toys onto his new toys onto his bed, trying to decide which one he actually wanted to play with right then. He knew that he'd have to be quick or his cousins Carla and Sean would get the best ones first and Joey certainly didn't want that. They'd already managed to grab one of his new toys before he could play with it. As Joey was deciding, his eyes crossed the ray gun and settled on it. He wasn't sure why, but for some reason, this toy seemed the most interesting. Having decided which toy he was going to play with first, Joey carried his toy gun with him back to the living room, knowing that he'd have his cake and ice cream real soon. As Joey was running back out of his room, gun in hand, he nearly ran into his big brother Max. "Watch where you're going" Max snapped, glaring down at Joey. At 16, Max thought himself too old and mature to be bothered with little kids like Joey, and wasn't very modest about sharing this viewpoint with his younger brother. Much to Joey's disgust, Max preferred to spend all his time chasing after girls instead. Joey stuck out his tongue at Max and started walking past. "Dumb kid" Joey heard Max mutter. Smiling to himself, Joey pointed his new gun at Max, saying "Bang" as he pulled the trigger. As Joey's finger pulled the trigger in, Joey heard a humming from the gun, and a flash of blue light that shot from the tip, completely covering his brother. Joey stepped back quickly while Max glowed blue for a second. Almost immediately after being hit with the blue glow, Max's body started to shift. Before Joey's eyes, Max started shrinking and his hair was growing. Joey gasped, realizing that two bumps were pushing out from the front of his brothers shirt. Joey wasn't the only one to notice it, and within several seconds, the blue glow faded, leaving a 16 year old girl where his brother had been, who was looking horrified and confused. Then she screamed. "What's happened to me?" Max cried out, running his hands over his body and his no longer fitting clothes. Joey gasped and stared while the rest of his family came to see what the screaming was about. Joey watched Max in amazement, then looked down at his gun, realizing that this somehow caused it. Max also seemed to realize it and jumped at Joey, only to be stopped by their Mom who didn't recognize Max. "Who are you and what are you doing in my house?" she demanded. "Mom, it's me. Max." He cried. Joey looked around seeing that everyone was watching this. Holding his gun in awe, Joey wondered just what else it could do. Smiling mischievously, he just had to find out. While his dad was over talking to Max, getting very confused, Joey looked at his mom who had stepped back a little and was looking at the teenage girl in disbelief. Wondering who he should try this on next, Joey noticed his cousin Carla. Yuck, he thought. Girls are gross. Suddenly Joey had an idea. If this thing had turned his brother into a girl, maybe it could turn a girl into a boy. Joey liked that idea, thinking that maybe it would make his cousin Carla fun to play with. He decided that he just had to do it. Joey aimed the gun at Carla who was standing next to her mom, hoping that no one noticed him, and pulled the trigger. Again the gun hummed and had the flash of blue light that suddenly covered Carla. This time though, the glow also covered Carla's mom. Gasping in amazement, Joey was surprised to see that Carla was suddenly getting bigger, while his aunt Vivian was shrinking. In seconds, Carla had gotten older, turned into an adult, while his Aunt Vivian had gotten younger and turned into a kid. Joey smiled as he realized that they just changed ages. Carla looked as old as her mom was, and his aunt looked the same age as him. Joey giggled as his aunt and cousin stared at each other in horror, adding their screams to the confusion. "Awesome" Joey muttered. He couldn't believe what this toy had just done. He remembered that it was called the Reverso Ray and realized that it somehow reversed things. Nothing Joey had ever seen had compared to this. He loved it. Thinking how much fun his new toy was, Joey tried to think of who he could try it on next. He knew that he just had to use it again. Just as Joey was looking around for his next target, Max pointed at him yelling "Joey did it!" Joey cringed, seeing that with Carla and his Aunt Vivian having changed in front of everyone they had no choice but to believe Max now. "Joey?" His dad demanded, coming towards him and looking rather angry, though somewhat confuses. Joey barely even noticed that his dad was still carrying baby Suzie as he raised the gun. Panicking, he pulled the trigger, hearing a gasp from everyone around him as the blue glow hit his dad and baby sister. "What did you do to me?" Joey heard his dad screaming. Opening his eyes, which he hadn't been aware he'd closed, Joey saw that his dad was shrinking while Suzie was growing. What really looked strange to him was that his didn't wasn't getting younger, and Suzie wasn't getting older. They were just growing. Within 10 seconds of being shot, a giant infant, the size of an adult lay in the middle of the floor screaming, while Joey's dad, stood on the floor staring around him. At just over a foot tall. "Change me back now!" Joey's tiny dad screamed up at him, making Joey laugh. Everyone else around the room was watching this with horror, backing away from Joey. Joey stepped back, seeing the look of fear on everyone's faces and suddenly feeling guilty. His baby sister was screaming on the floor, wanting to be picked up and held, but was too big for anyone to lift. His dad was on the floor jumping up and down yelling, without anyone paying attention. Aunt Vivian was crying into her hands and Carla was looking down at herself amazed, and beginning to look pleased at her new stature. Absently, Joey noticed that everyone's clothes had changed as well. Carla's had grown with her, turning into a more adult version of what she had been wearing while Aunt Vivian's had shrunk and looked like children's clothes. Even Max was dressed up as a girl now. Sadly, Joey watched as Carla picked up her own mom saying "I'm bigger than you are, I'm bigger than you are." He didn't like what he'd just done. Joey knew that he'd just wanted to have fun, but he didn't mean for everyone to get upset. Sadly, he lowered his toy gun, only to feel someone yank it out of his hand. Horrified, Joey turned around to see his cousin Sean with gun in hand saying "Cool. Now I get to play with it." Sean smiled at Joey, gap where one of his front teeth was missing and all. Everyone looked at Sean, and Joey felt very nervous all of a sudden. Especially when he saw that look in Sean's eye. "No Sean" Joey screamed out as Sean pointed the gun, his warning coming too late. The quick flash from the beam hit Joey's Mom, and Sean just grinned. Shocked, Joey watches his mom's normally very small breasts suddenly start swelling to gigantic proportions. Her clothes tried and only barely managed to keep up with her. When she'd finished, Joey could only stare at his mom's FF size breasts (though he didn't know the sizes) and how off balance she looked. Joey was sure that his Mom was going to fall forward with all that weight and was surprised when she managed to catch her balance. Sean just smirked and laughed, then aimed again. "Stop that this instant" Joey suddenly heard, and turned to see his Grandma Summers come over, looking rather upset. Joey winced thinking that Sean was gonna get it now. Sean looked afraid for a moment, then pointed at Grandma Summers. Joey screamed out "NO! Not Grandma Summers." without any effect since Sean pulled the trigger anyway. After the blue glow faded from Grandma Summers, she looked completely confused as she rapidly shrunk down, turning into a little girl around Joey's age. Suddenly, Joey realized that he and Sean were the only one's that hadn't been changed yet, and Sean was starting to point at him. Joey held his arms in front of him as if to protect himself, pleading "Please don't shoot me", all to no effect as the blue beam was fired and hit him anyway. For Joey, everything seemed to be blue for a few seconds, and he could feel a strange tingling throughout his entire body. He tried to scream, then suddenly realized that everything in the room was rapidly getting smaller. As the blue glow faded, Joey realized just how odd he felt, then looked down, amazed at how far it was to the ground. As he saw this, he also couldn't help but noticing the two large bumps pushing out from his chest. Nowhere near as big as his Mom's but they were definitely breasts. In a matter of seconds, Joey had changed from a young boy to an adult woman. Gasping, Joey ran a hand over his body, thinking how strange this all felt. Unsure of what to do, he turned to Sean, seeing Sean glaring at him "You've turned into a girl. But you're big" Carla smiled over at Joey, making him feel a little better before she said "Wow, you're all big too" Then she glared at her now much smaller brother. "We're bigger than you are now, shrimpy" Joey flinched as he saw Sean get jealous. "I'll make myself big" Sean announced, turning the gun on himself, "and I won't become a girl either." he added, snorting in Joey's direction. Joey tried to grab for the gun, but was too slow as Sean was covered in the blue glow. Holding back for a second, not wanting to touch the blue, Joey watched as Sean changed. Sean's features rapidly blurred and shifted, and seconds later, a little girl was standing where Sean had been. She looked at the gun in her hands in horror, then piped out in a girls voice, "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt anyone" Joey looked at Sean in horror, seeing that Sean wasn't acting at all like his normal self. Carefully, Joey took the toy gun that Sean offered him, then watched amazed as this new little girl went over to help her Grandma. The way Sean was acting confused Joey, until he realized that she was nice. Sean was never nice and friendly. He was always pushing people around. But now, somehow he'd not only changed into a girl, he'd turned nice. Joey couldn't help but smirk at that, thinking just how appropriate it was. Joey stood watching his now completely changed family, realizing just how strange they all looked. His big brother was now a girl, his Mom had a huge chest, his Dad was almost like a doll and he had a giant, Baby sister. Joey shook his head, watching how everyone else was looking at him and each other with looks of amazement, horror and confusion in their faces. After a few seconds, Joey's Mom held out her hand saying "Let me take that." Nervously, Joey handed her the Reverso Ray, suddenly afraid that he'd be grounded for life. Still, he handed it over, not wanting to have any more trouble. Feeling nervous, and confused at being so huge, Joey stepped back, tripping over his now tiny Dad. "Sorry" He muttered, then stood back up, keeping an eye on his Mom. "I'll try to reverse this." Joey's Mom said, holding the gun out. Carla screamed "No, I wanna stay like this" while everyone else was telling her to hurry. Ignoring everyone, Joey's Mom said, "First, these things are too big" Then smirking down at her tiny husband she continued, "They're bigger than you dear, and a little heavy." Then she fired the ray at herself. This time, there was the familiar blue glow, but a strange golden glow covered her for a moment as well. Joey watched amazed as his Mom's chest started shrinking and was soon back as small as it always was. He felt a little disappointed, thinking how cool that had looked. Max grabbed hold of his Mom's arm, pleading "Me next, please. I don't want to stay like this." Joey noticed that tears were pouring out of his brother, now sister's eyes. His Mom sighed, then shot Max, who shimmered in blue, which turned to gold. Seconds later, the old Max was back, and Joey felt disappointed. He wouldn't have minded seeing his brother stuck like that for a little longer. While his Mom was pointing to Aunt Vivian and Carla, whom she insisted stand together, Joey absently touched his chest, feeling how fat and heavy it was. Shuddering, he hoped he was next. Turning back, Joey smiled at Carla's arguing that she wanted to stay that way, and trying to get away. Before Carla got very far though, they were caught in the blue glow again. And once again it turned golden, leaving Joey a little confused. Did gold mean that it was being reversed, or did it mean something else? A few seconds later, Carla was once again 7 year old, while Aunt Vivian was an adult. Aunt Vivian glared at Carla, then gave her a quick spanking for trying to keep them that way. Joey saw the tears in Carla's eyes as her Mom told her she'd be grounded for a month and couldn't help but feel sorry for her. Unfortunately, he knew that he was going to get a similar punishment, which he wasn't looking forward to. Joey's Mom turned to the cute little girl that used to be Sean and sighed, "As cute as you are, I'd better change you back." After another flash of blue and gold from the gun, Sean was back, and was glaring at everyone with hate in his eyes, obviously embarrassed at the way he'd been behaving for the last few minutes. Joey couldn't help but smile at that. "OK Mom, you're next" Joey heard his Mom say, firing the Reverso Ray at his Grandma Summers. When Grandma Summers was back to her normal self, she looked disappointed, saying that she would miss being young again. "I'd better get you next" Joey's Mom said to his Dad, while watching the giant baby crying on the floor. "I certainly can't change those diapers" Joey chuckled and waited for his Mom to pull the trigger. She had a look of frustration on her face, and Joey realized that she had pulled the trigger. Nothing was happening. "I think the batteries are dead." she reluctantly admitted, setting the gun down while she ran to the kitchen for replacements. Sean seeing his opportunity for revenge, ran over and grabbed the gun, trying the trigger himself. When nothing happened, he looked pissed off. Aunt Vivian grabbed Sean roughly, trying to hold him still and Sean screamed out, throwing the Reverso Ray as hard as he could. Joey was horrified to see the toy gun smash against the wall, break in two. Quickly Joey and Aunt Vivian ran to the broken toy while everyone else watched in horror. Just as Joey was going to pick the pieces up, the glowed blue, and vanished, leaving nothing but a pair of burn marks on the carpet where they'd been. Unable to help himself, Joey started crying. He didn't want to be stuck as a girl, and Max came up behind him, laughing. "My brothers gonna be stuck a girl. Smooth move." he laughed. Joey glared at his brother. Hearing the commotion, Joey's Mom came running out, batteries in hand, to find out what was going on. Her mouth dropped in shock when she'd heard what had happened. She looked over at her tiny husband and giant baby and looked about to panic. Joey was sure that his Mom was going to scream. Wiping the tears from his eyes, he nearly scratched himself with his long fingernails. Glaring at them, Joey wished he were back to normal. "Wait a minute." Joey's Mom cried out, running into the kitchen. She was back a minute later with the box that the gun had come in. She looked at it for a minute then back up smiling. "It says here that the effects wear off after an hour" Joey sighed in relief, as did his Dad down below him. Giggling, Joey picked up his Dad, knowing that he wouldn't have another chance. Carrying his Dad to the kitchen, Joey followed his Mom who suggested that they eat the cake anyway. They'd soon all be back to normal. Joey giggled and waited while everyone sang Happy Birthday to him, even his Dad who was having fun at the moment. Sean glared at Joey, and didn't sing, but Joey didn't mind. As Joey bent forward to blow out the candles, he felt his breasts brush against the table uncomfortably. Max laughed from behind him and told Joey that he looked much better that way. Joey blushed, mostly in anger. Looking at the cake, he wished that Max could have stayed a girl, then blew out the candles. A little later, Joey looked down at himself, knowing that it was time to change back. He looked around at everyone nervously, thinking that it had been fun to be as tall as his brother and his Mom, and taller than his Dad, but he didn't want to stay that way. A golden glow surrounded Joey and he felt himself shrinking, turning back to the way he had been. When it was over, he ran a hand over himself to make sure that he was back to normal. Relieved, he saw that his Dad and sister had already changed back to normal as well. Joey was actually relieved at that, having pictured the size of the diapers a giant Suzie would leave. That was not something that he'd want to see for real. Since everything was back to normal, everyone sat down in the living room, relieved that everything was back to normal. Except for Carla who was still pouting, and Grandma Summer's who wasn't admitting that she'd enjoyed being a kid again, even if only for a few minutes. As everyone tried to relax, Joey saw a golden glow out of the corner of his eye, and turned his head, surprised to see his Mom glowing again. Before his eyes, her chest swelled out again, once again stopping at a huge size. She touched them, looking horrified, while Joey noticed his Dad was smiling and staring at them. Seconds after his Mom had finished changing, Max started to glow golden as well. Joey smiled when he realized that Max had turned back into a girl. Max on the other hand was holding his breasts and cursing, looking completely horrified. Having a bad feeling, Joey looked over at Aunt Vivian on the couch, then at Carla who was sitting with Sean in the chair, noticing that Carla had a nasty smile on her face, and was looking right at her Mom. Aunt Vivian paled and looked at Carla in horror, just before they both started glowing gold. Seconds later, Aunt Vivian was once again a little girl, and screaming in rage, while Carla was an adult who stood up admiring her new body, smirking down at her childish mother. Everyone looked to Sean and Grandma Summers, and they both shimmered in gold, reverting to little girls. Joey was suddenly afraid that he'd change back again, but so far neither he or his Dad showed any signs of changing. And he didn't know about Suzie since she'd been put to bed, but he was sure that if he and his Dad weren't changing, Suzie shouldn't be. Carla announced out loud, "I like this", while Aunt Vivian looked horrified. Joey looked over at Grandma, who was giggling, and staring down at herself, obviously liking being a kid again. Nervously, Joey looked around at his family, seeing how they'd all changed again. Or at least most of them had. The only ones that changed back were the ones his Mom had used the gun to reverse. Joey looked at his older sister, his Grandma who was the same age as him, his huge breasted Mom and the others, shuddering. He wasn't sure why, but for some reason he was convinced that this was permanent. That they'd all remain like this. As everyone was trying to keep from panicking, and try to find some solution, everything calmed down at once as everyone's eyes glazed over. Joey watched, realizing that everyone else seemed like zombies and wondered why he wasn't, until the fog started to obscure his mind as well. When the fog cleared from their minds, Joey thought that this birthday was the same as every year. His Mom walked around with her huge breasts while his Dad kept looking at them. His sister Maxine bullied him a little, but was more concerned with chasing boys. Joey's Aunt Carla came over and wished him a happy birthday, taking Joey's cousins Vivian and Shawna towards the door, saying that they had to go home. Sighing, Joey thought it was too bad. Sure, both his cousins were girls, but Shawna was always extremely nice. Too nice he thought sometimes. "Well, Common Elsa" Joey said to his new sister, "let's go to my room and play with some of my new toys. Yep, Joey decided, this birthday was just like every other birthday. Elsewhere, an Old Man chuckled to himself as he thought about the days events. He'd managed to help Joey's mother who secretly felt inferior due to her breast size, and made her husband happy as well. That bratty child Sean was no longer a concern, having been remade into the sweet girl Shawna. And most of all, he'd helped Elsa. The Old Man sighed. Elsa Summers was a kind and polite woman that struck a chord in his heart. He couldn't resist making sure that she had another chance at life. Giving Joey a sibling his own age was an added bonus. Of course what happened to Carla and Vivian wasn't expected, but the Old Man thought to himself, you can't always control everything. He thought for a moment that maybe he should have included in the warnings that using the Reverso Ray on somebody already altered would interfere with it wearing off. It would cause the reversal, but remain thinking that the reversed form was the original one, causing them to revert back. Chuckling to himself, he knew that if he'd added that warning, he never would have gotten the desired results. "Besides" he told himself, still chuckling, "I did tell them that the effects aren't always predictable." Yes, the Old Man thought to himself, he'd done right by Elsa which had been his primary goal. Feeling satisfied with himself, he leaned back to take a well deserved nap. The End
