5/13/99 My Darling Daughter Spells R' Us -Reversal Rings Rebel Rebel For your consideration a tale of fates, two of those people for whom life hasn't quite given a fair shake. It's the story of Marshall and his child, a man desperate to stay with his darling daughter Arial. The old man at the Spells' R US store steps and takes a hand to right a wrong and in doing so gives out a guarantee and his Internet location. Beware. Wizards are easily upset and not to be trifled with! Marshall thought over again what the old man had said. All he had to do was get Laurinda to wear the ring and put the second ring on his own finger and all his troubles would be solved. He had not told Marshall what to expect but that he would be pleased with the change in his life. Marshall found it odd how he had found the little shop. It had not been there the last time he was at the mall, it could not have been open a long time and already had a sign in the window saying, Store Closing. Going Out Of Business. SPELLS R'US. Magic Trinkets & Game Supplies. Marshall had been depressed and taken a ride in his car after Laurinda, his wife, had started to yell at him in front of his daughter. Rather than stay at home and let his daughter hear his wife continue to belittle him he had opted to go out for a while. Laurinda was leaving him and was packing the last of her possessions and she had been in a very foul mood. As he entered the store Marshall looked at all the sale banners. Discounts On All Items! 20% Off Everything. Moving to a New Location. No Reasonable offers refused. "Good day to you sir. I think I know just what you need. Marshall your really do need to look out for yourself more." Marshall jumped back and looked at the kindly old man who had just addressed him when he entered the little store. "How did you know my name?" "Well its a pretty poor Wizard I would be if I couldn't even tell a customer his own name. Your aura proclaims it to any competent Wizard or Witch!" There was a sign on the counter, Wizard on Duty. The old man wore a pair of old style horn-rimmed glasses and his bright blue eyes seemed to twinkle. It was hard to tell how old he was but his little cap did not conceal the vast areas of his head that were sorely in need of hair. Looking at the kindly old gent gave Marshall confidence that he had not felt for a long time. . "Do your really think I am too giving? My wife used to say that when we were first married but now she just calls me a chump or a putz. She says that the only reason she married me was to find a guy that would take care of her who had money. Now the moneys long gone and she's got me to sign divorce papers. Right now she's over at the house getting together the last of her things just before she moves out of state with my daughter and her new fiance" The old man beamed at Marshall. "Well Marshall, you knew when you married her, or at least you should have known, girls as good looking as Laurinda have lots of men to chose from. You are too giving. Yes, I think that as hard and ruthless as your wife is you really need to look out for yourself and your daughter. Marshall straightened up at the mention of his daughter. Little Ariel, his "pumpkin." She was the love of his life and at three years old she was too small to understand what was going on between her parents. Marshall looked at the old man and asked a rather forward question. "You know all about me, are you like those ladies on Psychic talk? I tried them and they charged me a lot of money and didn't seem to know much about me and didn't help me a bit. Are you really a Wizard?" The old man laughed as he said, yes they are pretty funny aren't they? They ask a few questions and make a few guesses and say things that can be twisted or turned. They do give me a chuckle. No, I'm really a Wizard; I got into this profession years ago before the big boom in magic and professional charlatans. I don't know why I stay in it except I like to help people now and then, you know the people who life hasn't quite given a fair shake to. "Marshall, I have something for you. Do you have $40.00?" Marshall replied, "I think that I might have that much on me. Do your take Visa or American Express? " The old man grinned, "No, sorry cash only. I'm already giving you a 20% discount and you will like the results, I guarantee it!" "How can you guarantee that I will like the results if you are moving soon?" The old man scratched his head and thought for a second. Well I guess you'll just have to trust me. To show my good faith I'll only charge you $30.00. But if you every have to find me. You can always get me on the Internet at: spellsrus.wiz. It's a special address that I give out to only a few special people. I move my shop a lot because I like to see new places and help as many people as possible. Lots of people are out there that I have yet to meet and seem to need the benefits of my products." "Let me show you something that I know will help you." The man took out a small box and in it were two rings. They were gold underneath but on the outside they had fine etching which colored them in shades of the rainbow; they were very beautiful and looked expensive. "Now when you wife comes home, give her a ring. Women can't resist cheap baubles and trinkets. She'll snap this one of these rings like a trout taking a fly. When she does leave just make sure she is wearing the ring. You shouldn't have a problem, I've never had a women turn down one these particular rings. Give her a couple of minutes to get started, sit down and have some wine perhaps a glass of liebframilch, its my favorite wine. Make yourself feel good. Then put the ring on your finger and in a minute you won't have a care in the world." I'm closing this location for good today and I won't see you again, but remember this. After you put the ring on your finger. Take it off again and throw it away. " The old man smiled. I want to wish you and your daughter good luck on your travels." Marshall scurried out of the little shop after saying thank you to the Wizard. He got into his beat up Ford Escort Pony and slowly drove out of the parking lot. Laurinda had made him give her the family vehicle, a brand new Ford Explorer and now he was reduced to a 6 years old car that needed a tune-up and a transmission overhaul. Marshall reflected, knowing Laurinda he was sorry his marriage had lasted 5 years but his little Ariel was well worth all the pain and struggle. The way Laurinda went through his money he was lucky that he wasn't in debt so deep he couldn't get himself out. It would just mean living in a cheap apartment and getting by on nearly nothing for just 5 or 6 years. The child support of $600.00 a month would nearly break him but his little girl was worth it. He had wanted joint custody of Arial but the judge in the case said she felt children need to be with their mothers; while men can be helpful as parents they were not really needed all that much. The judge indicated that in her opinion that Ariel would do just fine with her mother. All Marshall's desperate pleas to the judge had fallen on deaf ears and Marshall was about to lose the only thing in life he really cared for. Marshall drove up to the fine looking house on the hill and wondered why he had even thought he could afford it? There was a sold sign in the yard but the house still looked like home to him. The buyers were really nice and had given him until Monday to move out. When he got home he got out a large jug of liebframilch that he had bought last week and he started to drink. Along about the fifth glass of wine he started to feel a little woozy. Marshall was sitting on the couch when a tall young woman of about 25 came through the unlocked front door. Laurinda looked at the scene and a smirk of disgust came over her comely face. Drunk! she thought, as Laurinda looked over at Marshall sitting all alone on the couch in the empty house she thought," pathetic, just pathetic." Marshall looked up and saw his beautiful ex-wife framed in the doorway. Her long brown hair hung down past her shoulders and she seemed like a vision in the sunlight. Her large breasts, slim waist and generous hips gave the impression of a very sensuous woman. She wore a white blouse and a blue-green miniskirt that reached only a short ways down to her knee. Marshall got up and staggered over to the young woman. Of average height and slim build Marshall looked pretty rumpled and was in imminent danger of falling over at any time. Marshall got hold of himself and with a flourish he presented to the women a small wrapped box. "Laurinda I have a final present for you. Please take this ring with my compliments, you've taken everything else in my life that I love and I want to give you something in return. If you take this small present from me, it will make me very, very happy." Laurinda snarled, "You no good jerk, I come home to give you the key to the house and your drunk. I should have known a worm like you would end up a drunk. I've got Ariel in the Explorer and she's asleep now so dont go and bother her. Hunter and I want to get to San Diego tonight and its a long drive." Marshall looked out the door and could see his new Ford Explorer sitting there in the driveway. Looking inside he could see his young daughter asleep in the car seat in the back. His knees almost gave way as he felt a terrible need and desire to hold his daughter. Even as she spoke the women had opened up the ring box and had taken out the shining gold ring with the rainbow etching and had put it on. She threw the wrapping on the floor of the house. "Well Marshall I'm going to leave you now, its something I should have done years ago." Looking past the young woman all Marshall could see was the Explorer with the young child and handsome fair-haired man sitting in the driveway as they waited to leave. Funny as Marshall looked at the scene, he had no hard feelings against Hunter, Laurinda's new fiance. Hunter seemed a really decent guy in the three times they had met, Hunter had expressed what had seemed to be real regret when he told Marshall that he had not known Laurinda had been married until just a few weeks before the divorce. Hunter seemed like one of those honest straight-forward guys who where women are concerned, are unable to pick good ones. Even now he had no idea what sort of women Laurinda was. Laurinda had put on the ring and was admiring it on her finger, stopping she turned and at the doorway she said, "Goodbye Looser, make sure those child support checks get to me on time or I'll haul you ass into court so quick that you wont believe it." Laurinda, with a feminine jerk, flipped her long hair back on her head and gave an unconscious hip roll as she strode out to the waiting Explorer. Marshall felt shock as the Explorer and his daughter quickly drove out of view. He went back inside the house and sat down heavily on the couch. Taking a long drink of his liebframilch, he took out a ring from his pocket. It looked identical to the ring he had just given the beautiful brunette. Putting down his glass he took the ring and put it on his ring finger. Marshall felt dizzy for a second and attributed it to the effects of all the wine he had drunk until the dizziness intensified his world dissolved into a multicolored fabric and he sensed that he seemed to be moving somewhere. After what was an endless time, abruptly his world made sense again. He was seated in a car seat moving down the interstate in a car. He had on seat belts and things were oddly very different. Marshall blinked. He felt fine and vibrant as the waves of dizziness had passed and he looked over at the driver. It was Hunter? He was in a large vehicle and the driver was Hunter his wife's boyfriend? Marshall looked again at Hunter and then down at his own body, where his flat chest had been he now saw that he had two large feminine breasts. At the same time, he had a strange taste in his mouth and when he licked his lips and they seemed to be coated with a thick waxy substance that had a fruity taste. As he looked at his body he saw his hands he got a further shock, they were small and delicate and he discovered he now possessed long tapered red fingernails. Marshall tried to make sense of all this and when he looked into the rear view mirror he got the shock of his life. He brought his manicured fingers to his face and touched himself, as he looked at a woman face in the mirror. He brushed his long light brown hair away from his face, the reflection in the mirror was that of beautiful women, of his wife's face, Laurinda. How could this be? For a second he could do nothing. Then he smiled to himself as he remembered what the old wizard at the store had said. "Put the ring on your finger and you will be pleased at the change in your life." Marshall looked behind him and saw his daughter Arial sleeping in her car seat. She looked adorable. Marshall now understood his life. Looking again at Hunter who was driving the vehicle Marshall wondered what it was going to be like to be a woman. He resisted the temptation to look at his new body parts and was content to look over at Hunter as he started to think out what the sudden change would mean to him. Would Hunter even notice the change? "Honey where do you want to stop and eat lunch, Is Denny's Ok?" Marshall looked over at Hunter and with Laurinda's smooth voice, said. " That's fine dear, you know I'll always let you make the decisions." Hunter seemed to give him a strange look as Marshall looked back again at his sleeping daughter. As almost an afterthought, Marshall rolled down his window and taking the rainbow ring off his finger threw it as far as he could. Hunter looked over at the woman seated next to him and their eyes locked for a moment. They both smiled and Marshall couldn't help but think, now its time for somebody to take care of me and my darling daughter Arial. At the house on the hill, Laurinda staggered to her feet and fell on her face. Dazed and confused she tried to understand what had happened to her. One moment she was in the Explorer with Hunter and now she was back in her house and she felt so weird. Laurinda clawed herself to her feet holding onto a table. Abruptly she felt like she was going to throw up and she lurched forward to the bathroom. Barely making it in time, she thrust her head into the toilet and she was violently sick. After a minute it was over and she got up to wash her face and she looked into the bathroom mirror. Staring back at her was Marshall her disgusting ex-husband. She stared for a moment and let out a let out a shriek and Laurinda felt sick again lurching to the toilet where again she did what came naturally. When she was done she pulled her head out of the toilet and fainted on the bathroom floor. "Fair is fair," the old man chuckled as he watched Marshall and Laurinda on a computer screen. "Time to move on now," mused the old man as he went over and shut the door of the little shop and turned off the lights.
