Psychological Operations
Loudspeaker ops in Haiti
Psychological Operations, (MOS 37F, Airborne, US Army). Mostly a reserve MOS, but quite a bit of fun either way, its one of the most deployed MOS's in the army.  You get to have all sorts of fun and adventure, learn a language, work at the higher echlelons, and deal with foreign cultures.  If this sounds interesting to you, call you recruiter today.  If you like advertising, singing and dancing, eating strange foods, and all, you'd love it.  Some of the things they do include, Demining campaigns worldwide, post civil war assistance, counter insurgency, foreign internal defense, refugee work, surrender appeals, information dissemination, non-combatant evacuations, civil assistance, and many other helpful programs.

Propaganda
Since propaganda is someone's job now a days, I decided I'd throw some example into my web page of past and maybe some present uses of propaganda, to support some of the units that do this sort of thing....but remember the US doesn't use propaganda, that's what the enemy uses...we just use persuassion and information campaigns :).  Anyways, welcome to the world of psychological operations, and please remember that the images contained in here do not represent the views of the author of this page, they're just examples.

Number 1) This first example is an example of psyops used towards your own side, its a public service type of announcement and information dissemination.  It is from WWII.

Number 2) On to the second example :).  Here is an anti-japanese poster.  Its directed towards to US populace.  It is to rally support to the war effort by pointing out the mistreatment of POWS.

Number 3)  This is a safe conduct pass encouraging surrender, or ceasing resistance as is a more commonly used term.  There are two in this one, one is the counter propaganda of the german army against the original put out by the allies.

Counter Propaganda

Number 4)  The next one is an example of german propaganda directed at england.  As usual the german examples are poor because they don't translate their english very well...or at least they didn't during the war in most of their attempts at psyops.

Number 5) Here's a spoof on Life magazine....its an example of german propaganda.  There are two pictures.  It is a better example than the last, but usually it probaby didn't help a lot.

Number 6:  Here is another anti german piece.  It shows how hitler is using his troops and is trying to break down the lower enlisted from the higher commands and the general philosophy of the party.  Its a good cartoon, but the psyop is too big of an effect I think.  You have to get more specific and work at lower levels.

Number 7)  Here's another example of anti german propaganda.  It shows the change of the years of war and what has happened since the beginning.
