Appearance: Aislinn has wavy light auburn hair that falls in soft layers around her face and down to the middle of her back. Side swept bangs often conceal her pale grayish-blue, almost translucent eyes. She has long lashes, a pale complexion and a generous sprinkling of freckles across her heart-shaped face. Her frame is small and slender, as she�s very frail. She typically wears dresses or simple skirts and blouses. When she goes outside she generally wears sunglasses to protect her sensitive eyes. |

Personality: As a result of her homeschooling, Aislinn can be rather shy, but she really wants to make friends. She has great listening skills and often gives accurate advice on what to do. Independent and often sure of herself, Aislinn would rather not be babied and prefers to do for herself when she can. However, she is unafraid to ask for guidance from her friends by putting a hand on their shoulder or linking her arm with theirs, especially in crowded places, which she avoids if at all possible. She takes life as it comes and deals as best she can, though she fears making people uncomfortable and therefore not accepting of her. Due to her lack of sight, Aislinn likes to sit very close to people, which she hopes doesn�t make them too uncomfortable. She generally wears her sunglasses out in public where people don�t know her because she kno! ws her eyes can be overwhelming at first. |

History: Aislinn is an only child and has had the benefits and drawbacks of all of her parents� attention. Her family is from a northern Connecticut estate with wizarding blood that goes back generations. Her father�s family is old Irish blood and her mother is also a pureblood witch of European descent. Aislinn�s mother, Margarite, was a school Charms professor and her father, Harold has an established wizarding law firm. There is a long history of illness in Aislinn�s past, including a serious infection as a young child that caused permanent damage to her eyesight; she is slowly becoming blind. Her parents reluctantly agreed to let her come to a private college after much cajoling from Aislinn about her loneliness in home school for her primary schooling career, in which her mother taught her. After exhausting every magical and muggle m! edical options available to them to heal Aislinn�s eyes, her parents agreed to let go a little and now they only want to make their daughter happy. They are slowly accepting Aislinn�s disability, as she already has. |

Other: (her name is pronounced ASH-Lynn) Aislinn also has a plethora of charmed objects to help make her life a little bit easier. For example, she has a mirror that she brought from home that helps her match clothes and make sure they�re on right and that her hair isn�t totally out of control. In class she simply needs different kinds of directions, like a professor physically helping her move her wand to show her the movements of a spell. However, some classes she is just better left out of like potions. She has special enchanted quills that write in Braille for her note taking, but she is always paying attention, even if it seems she is starting off into space and she loves the conversational portions of class. Her cat, Gus, acts like a seeing-eye dog most of the time. Though not fat, he is twice the size of a normal housecat and follows Aislinn around faithfully, watching with interest in how Ash interacts with others and helping her when needed; the two are rarely separated. |
