By definition, role playing is when participants adopt and
act out the role of characters, or parts, that may have personalities, motivations, and backgrounds different from their own. This site is a writing based roleplaying game where each participant creates a character and then acts out that character by writing posts on the site boards.
How do I apply?
It's easy! First read the rules of the board so that you don't make any mistakes. Once you read the rules, click on either the student application if you wish to write as a student, or faculty application if you wish to submit for a staff position. Make sure you save your application as sometimes geocitites can be rather fishy. Once you are done, send it and you'll hear from us as soon as the term is close to starting.
How many characters am I allowed to have?
At the moment, there is no limit to how many characters you may have here at Sapienti. However, just be sure you can devote time to your characters.
How do we know what the timeline is?
From the first day of term until �Mid-term� is announced, you can indicate whatever timeline you wish so long as it stays within the first half of term. The same can be said for after Mid-term has ended until the last day of term for the second half of the term.
I�m going away for awhile, what should I do?
If you are going to be away from the site for a long period of time, just post on the OOC board to let us know that you won�t be around for awhile. If it seems like a permanent thing, email the site Dean first to give the heads up and then give your farewells on the OOC board.
How long does each term last?
Usually a term for the school year will last about three to four months. This is only a rough estimate as sometimes plots can force a term to last longer or RL can come into play and cause a delay. But, be sure, terms will hardly ever last more than six months at a time.
How do I get involved?
Post. It's as simple as that. Post. If you post, people will get to know your character and sooner or later, you'll be right in the mix of things.
How long does a lesson last?
A lesson can take anywhere from two weeks to a month depending on how the Professor breaks up the lessons.
What is OOC?
OOC means Out Of Character. This is when the author of a character makes a comment that does not actually effect the character him/herself. The OOC board is exclusively created for comments such as these.
Can I post on Multiple Boards?
Yes, you can, but be sure you keep the timeline in order as the character CANNOT be at two places at once. This is where Fuzzy Time comes into effect.
