You may think that you can protect your companion animal from your abuser by staying in the situation. This is not only
not true, it's dangerous wishful thinking.Many times your abuser will intentionally use your love for your pet against you as a way of controlling you.There are shelters available to foster your pet while you are in transition.Below are some links to websites where you can get an idea of how that works. If you need to find a safe haven for your companion animal,you can find out whether there is a sheltering program in your area through the Humane Society.
