InteRyc: The news-letter-update & soon to be started online journal

To get current volumes of InteRyc regularly the ophthalmologist has to enroll as a member of All India Strabismological Society.

  1. Only ophthalmologists can be members of the society.
  2. To become a member, please request a registration form and related info by sending an email to [email protected].
  3. When an ophthalmologist is enrolled as a member of the society, he/she automatically gets a membership of the JKA Institute of Strabismology free.
  4. The revived journal is to be called "The International Journal of Strabismology". It is expected to start sometime in 2005. It is going to be a refereed online journal. Contributions to the journal are invited hereby in the form of original articles, clinical papers, short case reports, letters to the editor, review articles, editorials on important topics (only by invitation), book reviews, jokes, cartoons, poetry relating to the eyes and "e-Discuss" (a forum for discussing ineteresting and difficult cases). The rules are the same as those of any international journal.
  5. Each year a member is chosen "member of the year on the basis of performance in the CME (or member of the year) quiz which is a regular feature of the InteRyc. The prize is a cup and a testimonial.
  6. The annual fee (including the membership fees, cost of the quarterly publication and airmail fees for sending the InteRyc and other mail abroad is: US$25.00 annually for members abroad. For Indian members the annual fees: Rs. 150.00
  7. The new term starts on 1st January every year. Subscription/membership year = 1st January through 31st December.
  8. The InteRyc is the official organ of AISS and JKAIS. It is a renamed and modified (now a news-letter/update) version of Indian Journal of Orthoptics, which was started in 1964 by Dr. Sudha Awasthi-Patney (a charter member of International Strabismological Association) and Dr. J.M. Pahwa at Eye Hospital, Sitapur, U.P., INDIA which had started India's first Strabismus/Orthoptic department and Orthoptic School. Also it had held India's first refresher course/workshop on strabismus in 1967, which was inspired by the aims of ISA (International Strabismological Association).
