Here is some inside information on the fascinating world of the Samba Schools of Sao Paulo. THE SAMBODOROMO DO ANHEMBI: It was built by Oscar Niemeyer and it has 530 metres. It is located in the centre of Sao Paulo, between avenues Marginal Tiete and Av. Olavo Fontoura and Metro stations of Barra Funda (linha Vermelha) and Portuguesa-Tiete (linha Azul) .Sambadrome capacity: 30,000 people. The main samba schools in Sao Paolo are: .Tom Maior, Mocidade, X-9 Paulistana, Gavioes da Fiel, Tucuruvi, Vai-Vai, Nene, Tatuape, Aguia de Ouro, Mancha Verde, Peruche, Rosas, Imperio and Vila Maria.
