Sao Lim Kung
Fu School Veenendaal is an inconspicuous group of enthusiastic martial
arts students. We are proud to say that our group has grown from 8 up to
15 regular members in about 5 years. The youngest member is about 8 years
old and the oldest is 50 +. Sao Lim Kung Fu is suited for everybody and
can be practiced at every level. This martial art strengthens the
body and will increase the self-confidence of the students.

The basis
of the Sao Lim Kung Fu style is the "Hood Khar Pai" style, one of the many
Shao Lin styles. The style has been practiced in the Shao Lin temple of
Quangzhou (China). Sao Lim is Shao Lin (="young forest") in the South Chinese
dialect Hokkien. P'ng Chye Khim is the Chief Instructor in Penang (Malaysia)
and S.B. Lee
is responsible
for the European countries.
Sao Lim Kung
Fu is, like other Kung Fu styles, based on balancing body and mind.
Practicing
this art benefits the mental and physical health. Besides this, the art
provides the student with a perfect system of self-defense.

Sao Lim Kung
Fu is a traditional Chinese martial art, which is instructed in Holland
and in a few European countries by European Chief Instructor S.B. Lee.
Mr. S.B. Lee has traveled all over the world for teaching and demonstrations.
"Stand like
a Horse and be quick as the Wind" and " Above all Kung Fu is patience and
concentration" are two of his sayings. This
says something about the style of Sao Lim Kung Fu. A solid, efficient and
moreover a beautiful style in which the balance of body and mind plays
an important role.

Though Sao
Lim Kung Fu has no system of graduations for the obtained level (like in
karate) we believed it is good to introduce such a system.
Twice a
year students can take an examination to obtain a level certificate. This
certificate is a proof of skill only and not a certificate recognized by
the Sao Lim Kung Fu Martial Arts Federation.
For every
obtained certificate the student gets a level-circle on his of her sash
with the
logo of Sao Lim Kung Fu (white circle, yellow circle, green circle etc.).
The advantage
of this system is that it motivates the students. Besides this, they can
test their skills to obtain self-confidence.
