Epic Weapons Quests
These guides are short and to the
point; the bare facts of the quests are present. It is up to you to talk to the
strange creatures of Norrath and beyond as you travel the realms to obtain this
most prized symbol of your class.
Please remember that some portions of
your Epic can be worked as you level and grow, but that the quest initiators
will not speak to you if you are not old enough – you must have achieved your
first class title level before they will talk with you.
It's rumoured that there are now
better weapons and items in the world and beyond, but there is no better
feeling than the one that floods over you as you hold in your hand the epic
piece, the true symbol of your mastery of your class.
Fight well, adventurer, and Run safe
as you set out on your epic quest!
Part One, Things to Do
Go find Stofo Olan in the Vasty Deep Inn, near the Erudin City Library. Talk to him; he will ask you to bring him a mechanical pen, ink of the dark, and some white paper. He'll also talk about his teacher, Jeb Lumsed.
Go to Ak'Anon to Rilgor Plegnog to get the Mechanical Pen. He wants you to go get him the SMR off the Ghoul Magi in Lower Guk. Go get it, bring it back, and he'll give you the Pen.
Go to Reania Jukle in the Temple under Qeynos to get an Empty Ink Vial; now go back to Guk and charm the Ghoul Scribe; hand him the Empty Vial. He'll fill it with Ink of the Dark and give it back.
Go buy a paper and a quill from any Enchanter Crafthall, and go to West Karana, to Chrislin Baker. (near 1050 x –1990). Give her the paper and quill, and she'll give you a Bandit Sash. Thrackin Griffen will spawn fairly nearby; kill him and loot the White Paper. Take a ranger and a healer with you.
Go back to Erudin City to Stofo, and give him the stuff. He'll give you a copy of the Notes.
Jeb Lumsed lives in Burning Woods at about –1200 x –4000. Hand him the Copy of Notes, and talk to him. He'll give you a seal and send you off to the Masters of Enchantment. Before you go, tell him that you need a sack, and ask him what other four masters. He'll tell you who they are, and where they live.
Part Two, People to See
Modani – Overthere, somewhere around 540 x –940; usually in scorpion form. Kill the real scorpions so they don't mess with you while you talk to this nut. Give him Jeb's seal, talk to him, and get another sack from him. Now you'll have to find find the Xolion Rod, Innoruuk's Word, the Chalice of Kings, and Snow Blossoms. He gives you clues as to where these are, if you talk to him.
Rod – Go to Cabilis to the Shaman Crafthall and kill "Vessel Drozlin"; you'll need a group and EB or EB items; loot the Xolion Rod from his corpse and put it in the bag you got from Modani.
Word – Go to Neriak, with a group of people who ARE NOT KoS in their natural forms. Look for Verina Tomb, inside the Cleric Crafthall, in the Third Gate region. Kill her and loot Innoruuk's Word from her body. Stick that in your little bag that Modoni gave you. She's a 2-day spawn; pop back and forth till you find her.
Chalice – Go to Chardok. Take AT LEAST one 55+ group; kill Prince Selrach Di'zok and get his head. Take that to the Mage Crafthall in Felwithe and give it to Joren Nobleheart, who will give you the Chalice. Put it in the bag.
Blossom – Bozlum Blossom in Oggok. Talk to her, then go find Brokk Boxtripper's sandals. Take those to Bozlum and she'll give you a Scribbled Parchment to take back to Brokk. He'll give you a present to take back to Bozlum as an apology. She'll open her present and tell you that he's given her too many flowers, and offer one of them to you. Stick that in your nifty little sack.
Once you have all four things in the bag you got from Modani, combine them and you'll get the Sack for Modani. Take it back to him and he'll give you the first piece of your Staff.
Part Three, Shopping in the Mall
Mizzle – Ak'Anon; he's usually hiding as Clockwork Gnome VIIX. Ask him if he's Mizzle; he'll answer you. Tell him you need a sack. (Your life has become one long grocery shopping expedition, hasn't it?) He'll give you that and send you out after a Spoon, the One Key, the Lost Scroll, and the Book of Charm & Sacrifice.
Spoon – Go to Oasis and kill Cazel; take a 55+ group, with a necro if you can find one. He has an absolutely insane regen rate, so DoTs will help some here. Loot the spoon, stick it in the sack.
One Key – Go to Overthere and somewhere on a little shelf at about minus190 by minus380, you'll find this key. Stick it in your sack.
Lost Scroll – Go to Dalnir, to the bottom of the Crypt. Look for a bed near a wall; the Scroll shows up there about once a day. Pick it up and stick it in the bag.
Book – Go to Plane of Sky, go to the quest room (1300 x 550ish) and pick it up. This also "reappears" about once a day. And you thought Shamans had to undergo a test of Patience! Put that in your little bag too, and combine to get a Sack for Mizzle.
Take it back to him and he'll give you the second bit of your Staff.
Part Four, Groceries
Nadia – Go to Firiona Vie; if you're KoS here, go beat up goblins or something. Find Nadia and ask for – wait for it!!! – ask for a sack. She wants the essences from four different stones, Dull Diamond, Sapphire, Ruby, and Emerald. Talk to her and she'll tell you what to do. This is where your ability to charm things comes into play. So. Take the gems she gives you, and get ready to travel.
Diamond – Kaesora. Drop down the hole to the next ledge down. Turn Right in the spider room and go through the door, behind which is a secret door. Cast UVI and go round the corner into the building where the Librarian spawns. Tortured is the PH, Spectral is the one you're after. Charm the Spectral, hand him the Dull Diamond. He'll give you an Enchanted Diamond and then turn Enraged. Just gate out, no need to fight.
Ruby – Go to City of Mist and look for the Wraith of Jaxion. It's near the Black Reaver, and it's fairly rare; just kill stuff till it shows up. Charm it, give it the Dull Ruby, it'll give back the Enchanted Ruby.
Emerald – Go to Overthere and look for a scorpion called Impaler Tzilug. Kill the yard trash around him, charm him, give him the Dull Emerald, and he'll give you the Enchanted Emerald.
Sapphire – Go to Skyfire and look for Felia Goldenwing. Give a shout so that others in the zone won't kill her till you're done with her. Charm her, get her the heck away from anything else nearby so she lives long enough for you to give her the Dull Sapphire and get the Enchanted Sapphire back.
Combine the gems in the bag you got from Nadia, take it back to her, and you'll get the third piece of your Staff.
Part Five, Goodies
Polzin – Go to The Hole and find Polzin Mrid; talk to him, give him Jeb's Seal. He'll hand it back and continue the conversation. Eventually he'll get round to telling you he wants the Head of a Serpent, the Essence of a Ghost, the Essence of a Vampire, and the Sands of the Mystics.... and of course, he'll offer you a bag.
Ghost – Go get this first since you're already in The Hole. Somewhere between the "City" and Yael's Lair, you'll find the Ghost of Kindle; kill her, loot her essence, put it in the bag.
Vampire – Plane of Hate, Forsaken Revenants. You may also have to spend your life in Hate for the next several days; put it in your bag.
Sands – Go to Field of Bone and look for the Tangrin, which is a rare-spawn gorilla. Take a 55+ group; kill it, loot the sands and drop them in your bag.
Serpent – Plane of Fear; drops from the Spirit of Shissar in the Amygdalan Temple. Seven-day spawn, just like all Planes Named. Once Fear's broken and your groups are in, the Shissar is cake; get his head and put it – Where? all together now! – In the bag.
Combine the stuff to make Polzin's sack, give it to him, and you'll get the fourth bit of your Staff.
Part Six, Get FINISHED Already!
Go back to Jeb in Burning Woods. Make sure you have the first bag that he gave you way back when, and the four bits of your Staff. Combine the bits in the bag to get a Bundle of Staves.
Give the Bundle of Staves to Jeb, and in return, he will praise your efforts....
... and give you the mark of your mastery, Staff of the Serpent, with its stat adds and the right-click haste. Well done, Enchanter!

Part One, Paging all Mages
The quest starts
out in Lake Rathetear. Go to Rykas (+967.70, -665.27), hail him, use his
triggers, get the Token of Mastery.
Take
the Token to Jahsohn Aksot in West Commonlands. His location is (+62.78,
+3639.68) Give the Token of Mastery to Jahsohn, use his triggers, and remember
what he tells you about the pages of Magi'kot.
Go
to Kithicor Woods, kill the Enraged dread wolf for the first page. The wolf is a night-spawn.
Go
to Estate of Unrest, kill the Tentacle Terrors for the second page.
The
third page is dropped off of a Bloodthirsty Ghoul within Lower Guk. They spawn
in the same room as the frenzies do. Once you have the three items, go back to
Jahsohn Aksot and give them to him.
Jahsohn gives you the Words of Magi'kot and sends you to Walnan in
Butcherblock.
Part
Two, Powers
Walnan
is a rare spawn near the walls of the dock in Butcherblock. She wanders, so a
tracker may be helpful.
Hail
Walnan and respond to her triggers. She will send you after the Powers of
Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water.
The
Power of Wind is dropped by Gypsy Dancers in Mistmoore. They spawn inside the
castle close to the piano. Be careful when fighting them because they can
backstab up to 150 damage.
The
Power of Fire is dropped by Blazing Elementals inside Solusek's Eye. They spawn
near the Reckless Efreeti. The Power of Fire also drops from Lava Elementals in
SolA, more commonly than the Blazing Elementals. They are deeper inside the
dungeon and are around level 35.
The
Power of Water is dropped by the Famished Ravener within Kaesora. He spawns in
place of the strathbone healer before the drop off to the bottom floor
occasionally. He also spawns reliably in the hut in the cave by the library
where he is the common spawn.
The
Power of Earth is dropped by Fairy (not faerie) Guards in Lesser Faydark. They
spawn in the northwest corner of the zone at Faerie Village.
Once
you have obtained all four Powers, return to Walnan and give them to her. Respond to her triggers; she will give you
the Power of the Elements and then send you out again to find Akksstaf
Part
Three, the Orb
Head
to Najena and find Akksstaff. If he is not there you might have to wait a long
time because his spawn time is rumored to be 4-5 days long.
Hail
Akkstaff; respond to his triggers; he will send you through Najena to find four
torn pages of Mastery. They can drop
off any female Dark Elf magician in Najena. Take them back to Akkstaff
who will then send you back to Rykas.
Go
back to Rykas in Lake Rathetear, hail him, use his triggers, and give him The
Words of Magi'kot, the Power of the Elements, and the Words of Mastery. He will
then give you the Power of the Orb.
Then he sends you back out again.
Part
Four, Fire
Now,
go to Skyfire Mountains and find Jennus Lyklobar. This can be done by using the
Sense Summoned spell. Hail him, use his
triggers; he will send you after the Element of Fire.
Go
to City of Mist and kill Neh'Ashirr to get the Torch of Elements; remember you
will need a 50+ Rogue in the group.
Go
to Burning Woods (about -450, -2550 in Burning Woods) and get The Burning
Embers from Phurzikon in the Burning Woods.
Go
to Kedge Keep; take 2 groups with Enduring Breath items, or give them
waterstones. Get the Blazing Wand from
Undertow in the temple; he is located about +250 x –250 and is an 8-hour spawn.
Go
back to Jennus in Skyfire; give him the Power of the Orb from Rykas, the Wand,
the Embers, and the Torch. He will give
you the Element of Fire.
Part
Five, Earth
Go
to Firiona Vie and find Tiblner Milnik, near the cliffs. Hail him and use his triggers to get
instructions for the Element of Earth.
Go
to Plane of Hate to get the Staff of Earth from Magi P'Tasa; he does not always
spawn and does not always have the staff.
Go
to Burning Woods, near the meteor at –500 x –1100 to find Slixin Klex; he drops
the Dirt of Underfoot.
Go
to Vira in the Temple of Solusek Ro to get the subquests for the Shovel and
Broom.
Go
to Feerrott to get a shovel and a broom from alligators, then to Lake Rathe for
hill giant and cyclops toes, then to Ocean of Tears for a gargoyle eye, then to
the Karanas for a griffon feather.
Tthen buy a ruby and a star ruby from a vendor. (The broom and shovel may also drop in
Najena; you may already have them from when you camped the Pages.) Take all this stuff to Vira; hand each set
of things in to get the Shovel of Ponz and Broom of Trilon. (Shovel, HG toes,
Eye, Ruby; Broom, Cyc toes, Feather, Star ruby.)
Take
the Staff, the Dirt, the Shovel, and the Broom back to Tiblner Milnik to get
the Element of Earth.
Part
Six, Water
Go
to Jinalis Andir in Dagnor's Cauldron. His location is -447.00, -2044.00. Hail him, use his triggers; he will send you
after the stuff for the Element of Water.
Go
to Kedge Keep; kill Phinigel Autropos for the Staff of Elemental Mastery.
Go
to OverThere; kill Captain Rottgrime from the outpost for the Tears of
Erollisi; you will have to single-pull him from his friends.
Go
to East Karana; kill Tarbul Earthstrider for the Rain of Karana. Tarbul regens very quickly; two groups are
usually best.
Take
the Staff, the Tears, and the Rain back to Jinalis Andir to get the Element of
Water.
Part
Seven, Air
Go
to Plane of Air and seek Kihun Solstin. DO NOT kill him, just HAIL him! Follow his triggers to get the Element of
Wind.
Go
to the 7th Island for the Crown of Elemental Mastery; it may drop
from anything.
Go
to the Hole and kill Elemental Warriors till an Elemental Binder drops.
Go
to South Karana and kill Quillmane for the Pegasus Feather Cloak; take a
tracker because Quillmane is insanely rare and wanders. He also does not always drop the cloak.
Take
the Crown, the Binder, and the Cloak back to Plane of Air and give them to
Kihun Solstin to get the Element of Air.
The
End is Near!
The
Master of the Elements will spawn. DO
NOT kill him; have a tracker take you to him.
Give him the four Elements and he will give you the spell scroll that
makes your epic weapon; scribe it and then cast it to use your Orb of Mastery.

Quest Initiator – Telen Darkforest in Burning Woods. LOC 3230 x 2870. If he does not give you the Worn Note, do the FP Muffin Quest.
Faelin Bloodbriar – Greater Faydark. LOC 1500 x 500; near Crushbone. Be in Form; the lady is FAST. Chase her, hail her, give her the note to get your ring.
Giz X'Tin – Kithicor Forest. Track him. Have Gate up. Give him the ring; as soon as he hands you the Dark Metal Coin, get out or a Reaver will Backstab you to death.
Telin Darkforest in Burning Woods. LOC 3230 x 2870. Give him the Dark Metal Coin to get a Worn Metal Coin.
*note* Once you go to turn the coin into Athele, you will have to finish what you start. Don't go unless you mean it.
Athele – East Karana fishing villiage. Have the fighting group at minus1500 x minus1000, ready to kill the reavers when they pop. Give the coin to Athele to get an Amulet. Take this to Sionae (track her) then to Nuien (track him) then to Teola.
Within one minute the Corruptor and Reavers will spawn – you MUST kill the Corruptor and loot the Tome, that's your epic drop.
Athele – Take the Tome to Athele to get your Earthstained Note. (if you screwed up and the reavers or corruptor killed the druids, you have to wait about an hour real-time for respawn of Athele and the other druids.)
Ella Foodcrafter – Misty Thicket. Track her; use SoE or Form, she also does not stop. Give her the Earthstained note to get your Mixing Bowl. She'll also mention an "Ancient Bowl".
Part Two, Foraging
Go to Everfrost; forage a Chilled Tundra Root
Go to Misty Thicket; forage a Sweetened Mudroot
Go to Innothule Swamp; forage a Moldy Mushroom
Go to Greater Faydark; forage a Heartfruit
Combine these in the Bowl that Ella gave you to get a Hardened Mixture. You don't need the bowl anymore, but make sure you don't destroy the MIXTURE!!
Part Three, Travel and New Friends
Alrik Farsight – Timorous Deep Chessboard, at about minus6500 by 2000. If he does not like you, go to Felwithe and do the Batwing quest with Niola Impholder in the Felwithe Southe Mage guild until you are amiable. He gives you a Crushed Pot.
Farios Elianos – Felwithe South, in the merchant building on the right as you zone in. Hail him; give him the Pot; he gives you a Grocery List that you take to Merchant Nora in the Shop of All Halos in North Felwithe.
Merchant Nora – North Felwithe. Give her the Grocery List to get the Bag of Provisions. Take the Bag to Farios to get the reciept for the Ancient Bowl.
Alrik Farsight again – Give him the Reciept to get an Ancient Pattern.
Kill the Reavers in City of Mist to get a Jade Reaver. You'll need a big rogue and at least one group.
Take the Jade Reaver to Kinlo Strongarm in Kaladim's Everhot Forge. Give him the Reaver, to get the Enchanted Clay.
Go to Firiona Vie and forage a Rose of Firiona. Take it to Merdan Fleetfoot in Surefall Glade to get an Old Wooden Painting.
Human Skeleton – Frontier Mountains. He spawns SW of the zone; take a necro or cleric along to find him faster. Give him the Painting and he crumbles into a Silver Chained Locket.
Niera Farbreeze – Surefall Glade, near the waterfall. Give her the Locket to get the Platinum Speckled Powder.
Combine the Powder, the Clay, and the Ancient Pattern in a pottery wheel. (No, you don't need any pottery skill) Now you have the Rune Crested Bowl.
Part Four, Dark Places
Ella Foodcrafter – Misty Thicket. Give her the Hardened Mixture and the Rune Crested Bowl to get the Softly Glowing Stone.
Venril Sathir's Remains – Karnor's Castle. Bring 2 groups. Hail the Remains after VS has been killed. Give him a Globe of Fireflies. He depops and another Remains spawns. Have a tank give him the spell-scroll for Cleric Level 49 Resurrection; he will change again and attack. Two Pulsing Green Stones drop. If there is a ranger or another druid in the groups, let him have the one you don't need.
Foloal Stormfest – Firiona Vie. Go talk to her; she sends you back to Ella Foodcrafter. DO NOT give Foloal the Stones!
Ella Foodcrafter – Misty Thicket. Give Ella the Softly Glowing Stone and the Pulsing Green Stone to get your Elaborate Scimitar, the first part of your Epic Weapon.
Part Five, Cleansing the Continents
ANTONICA
Tainted/Corrupted Hill Giant in Rathe Mountains – Ancient Rock
Tainted/Corrupted Aquagoblin/Aquagoblin Shaman in Lake Rathe (LOC to tunnel 2615 by1450, underwater. Use Enduring Breath) – Pod of Clean Lakewater
Tainted/Corrupted Mammoth – Chunk of Tundra
Withered Treant – North Karana. Hail the Withered Treant, respond to his triggers, and give him the three corrupted items to get the Treant Heart
Yeka Ias – South Karana LOC 2330x minus2340. Give him the Treant Heart to get the Cleansed Spirit of Antonica
FAYDWER
Tainted/Corrupted Brownie in Lesser Faydark; Brownie camp is at 0,0. Brownie is a druid; you need a partner, both need Magic Resist.
Tainted/Corrupted Seahorse in Kedge Keep. Underwater zone; two groups with EB spells or items.
Tainted/Corrupted Seafury Cyclops in Ocean of Tears. He summons. Take a partner.
Pained Unicorn – Lesser Faydark. Hail him, use his triggers, hand him the Corrupted drops to get your Gleaming Unicorn Horn.
Silox Azrix – Ak'Anon. He lives near the mines in Ak'anon, kind of by the river. Hive him the Horn to get the Cleansed Spirit of Faydwer.
KUNARK
Go to the Swamp of No Hope and look for the frog named Ulump Pujlik. Talk to him first, then kill him to get his Essence. He lives at minus108 x minus1760; he's level 55, he has 32,000hps, and he's extemely MR. At least one full group.
Tainted/Corrupted Barracuda in Lake of Ill Omen to get the Pure Lakewater.
Tainted/Corrupted Gorilla in Emerald Jungle to get the Green Tree Bark.
Faydedar, in Timorous Deep. Go to Timorous Deep to the entrance at minus11300 x minus3500; use DMF or SoE or some other Lev and EB spell. You need two groups, preferably big wizards, tanks, and clerics.
Go to Dolgin Codslayer on the shore. Give him Ulump's Essence. He depops. Within 10 seconds, Faydedar pops.
Fay looks like a basilisk; he's small. He also happens to be highly MR. He summons. fears, and debuffs. Don't sit. Cold spells, and Tashani series, and Lure-series work nicely on him. Keep the casters out of range just at first, just at the entrance to the hidden lagoon. Let the tanks get him to about 70percent, then have your wizards nuke him to death. YOU keep your mind on healing them and the clerics, so the clerics can heal the tanks.
When he's dead, loot the Pod of Seawater.
Take the Froglok Essense, the Seawater, the Tree Bark, and the Lakewater to Nekixin Virulence in Overthere. He's on the shore North of the Outpost. Give him these things and he gives you the Cleansed Spirit of Kunark.
Finish
Think you're done?
Well, you are, almost.
Go to North Karana and look for Xanuusus the Treant. He's in the far north of the zone, at the base of a mountain.
Hail him.
Give him the Cleansed Spirits of Antonica, Faydwer, and Kunark, along with your Elaborate Scimitar.....
.... And he will give you the beautiful curving blade that is the Naturewalker's Scimitar, your Epic Weapon with its no-mana DOT.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PLEASE NOTE – There is a LOT of Faction stuff involved in your Epic Weapon Quest; I have had people say that you must be very careful to use your birth-form, NOT BEAR FORM, for every turn-in that's part of this. I'm told you must do your quest in this order so that your faction changes enough each time to continue triggering the creatures you need.
Part One, Spirits and Drunk Things
1) Tiny Gem – Go to the Ocean of Tears, to Gornit's Island (about plus800 by minus5400) and kill Captain Surestout. A Spirit pops out of his corpse.... DON'T HURT IT!
2) Hail it; it's lonely and it wants to have a day-long conversation.
3) Take the gem he gives you to Bondl Felligan, in North Freeport, near the sewers. He lives near a crumbly wall.
4) Again, the guy wants to talk; apparently Shamans are lonely.
5) Follow him upstairs into the bar called Jade Tiger's Den; hail the Greater Spirit there, and again, time to talk – depending on race. This is IMPORTANT. You know what you follow; it has to do with your birth race. As far as I know, Barbarians and Vah Shir answer with "I follow Justice"; Ogre is War; Troll is Fear; Iksar is Hate. Vah Shir Shamans ASK AROUND! And tell me when you find out.
6) He natters on a bit, but eventually sends you into the next room to talk to another Greater Spirit. Make sure that after you say "What Heyokah?" you STOP talking until the Spirit hands you the gem. Say nothing else until that thing is in your hot little shammy hand.
7) Once you have the gem, then you say, "I will walk the path of the Heyokah". If you say this before you have the gem, guess what? You start over. STOP talking until he hands you the gem.
Part Two, Patience
1) Ogre Shamaness named Ooglyn lives in Erud's Crossing, at about minus900 by plus1600; if she's not up, take a nap; her respawn is like two hours. Now you know why this part is the Test of Patience.
2) Cast Enduring Breath (and maybe Lev, SoE, or DMF) on the group, hail the Ogress, give her the gem, and then follow her when she runs away. If you lose her, she ends up underwater at about minus1600 by plus4200. Buff, make pets, whatever; you have time.
3) Heyokah spawn. Five of them will pop, over time. Amuse yourself by beating up the sharks and stuff that wander by. Abe gives you a Broken Arrow. A Greater Spirit gives you another Gem. The rest of it is just conversation – but whatever you do, whatever they say, don't leave. Patience, remember? If Abe wanders off, DO NOT follow him; hang around until the Greater Spirit comes up.
4) The Greater Spirit gives you (surprise) another Gem.
Part Three, Wisdom
1) Go to West Karana to about –500 x –5300 and look for a wisp called A Wandering Spirit; hail him to hold him still and give him the Small Gem.
2) Go to
Rathe Mountains and find Tabien the Goodly at about 6300 x 1500. Hail him; respond to his triggers; kill him
and loot the shield Marr's Promise.
Then find Glaron the Wicked at 2900 x –1900 and respond to his triggers;
kill him and loot Envy and Woe.
3) Go back to West Karana; find the Wandering
Spirit, hail him, and respond to his triggers.
Give him the Shield, Envy, and Woe to get back the Shield of Falsehood;
respond to the rest of his triggers. He
will give you another gem, and send you off to Emerald Jungle.
Part Four,
Might
1) Go to
Emerald Jungle and find the Sentinel Spirit at 1250 x 300. Hail him, give him the Wandering Spirit's
gem, and follow his triggers.
2) Go to Mistmoore and find Black Dire in the
yard near the ramp to the castle; killing the Advisor in the Library area
should force him to spawn. If you go
under the bridge, toward the cliff, there will be 4 guardian wolves and Black
Dire. You have to con warmly to him
(Truespirit faction) if you want to talk to him; you don't actually have to –
you can just kill him and loot his pelt.
3) Go back
to Emerald Jungle; give Black Dire's Pelt to the Sentinel Spirit to get the
Black Fur Boots. Respond to his conversational
triggers and he will send you to the City of Mist.
Part Five,
Paperwork
The City
of Mist portion is several parts – the Reports, Lord Ghiosk's Books, the High
Scale Icon, and the Iksar Scale. You
may be tempted to do all three bits at once, but don't try it. You must go back to the Spirits each time,
do the turn ins, and follow the triggers, or you may not have sufficient
faction for the quest to work. It IS possible to get the Plane of Fear fight
out of the way and bring the Child's Tear with you for your last trip to the
City of Mist, but that is the only portion of this that you can do "out of
order".
1) Go to
the City of Mist. Kill skeletons,
golems, or goo and to find the Personal Diary Page, Crier's Scroll, Merchant's
Letter, Written Announcement, and the Priest's Diary Page. Kill a Spectral Courier to get the Student's
Log. Combine these in the Booklet that
the Spirit Sentinel gave you; go back to him and give him the book.
2) Kill Lord Ghiosk and get the three Books
that he drops; take those to the Spirit Sentinel Wolf at 3685 x -640 in Emerald
Jungle. He'll send you out after the
Scale Icon.
3) In the courtyard to the right of the temple,
kill the skeletons there, then go right, to the room sort of below ground
level, kill the phantoms there, and open the left door. The High Scale Icon you need is on the
ground there. Go back to the Wolf and
follow his triggers.
4) Go to
the Hole; you'll need 2 to 3 groups.
High Scale Kirn lives in the Tower past the "City" inside the
Hole; he is on about a 4-hour timer.
Hail him – DO NOT USE BEAR FORM.
Hand him the Scale Icon. When he
agros, kill him and get the Engraved Ring.
5) Go back
to the City of Mist and find Neh'Ashiir.
Give her the Ring; kill her and loot her Diary; take her Diary back to
the Wolf Sentinel in Emerald Jungle.
6) Go to Plane of Fear. Kill Golems until an Iksar Child
spawns. It should look like a
broodling. Kill the Child and loot her
Tear.
7) Take the Tear to City of Mist to Lord
Rak'Ashiir. When you hand him the Tear,
he attacks; two groups are recommended for this fight. Loot the Iksar Scale.
Finish
Take the
Iksar Scale back to the Spirit Sentinel Wolf in Emerald Jungle. When you hand him this final proof that you
have released the troubled souls and cleansed the corruption from the world,
the Wolf Spirit will give you....
.... The
beautiful feathered SPear of Fate, with its right-click
damage-over-time spell and its stat adds.
HYBRIDS
Part One,
Is This The Olymics?
Go to
Baldric Slezaf in the pyramids near the Wizard Spires; look near 770 x
9700. Hail him and respond to his
triggers; he wants some pages.
Go to West
Karana; find Konia Swiftfoot in the tower near –515 x –2435. He will give you a torch to take to Fajio
Knejo.
Go to
Misty Thicket and find Fakio near –250 x –250.
Give him the first torch and he'll give you a second torch to take to
Andad Filla.
Go to
South Ro and find Andad near the entrance to Innothule Swamp. Give him the torch and he'll give you a
third one and tell you to give it to Misty Tekchita.
Go to Lake
Rathetear and look for Misty near the Arena entrance. Give her the Torch, and she'll give you the Proof of Speed. (it's
a ring)
Take the
ring back to Konia Swiftfoot and he'll give you the Top Part of Page 24.
Part Two,
Little Drummer Bard
Konia now
wants some other stuff before he'll let you have the Bottom Part of Page
24. Follow his triggers.
Go to
South Karana to Baenar Swiftsong; he usually hangs out near –20 x +100. Follow his triggers; he will give you a
Mining Company Invoice.
Go to
Solusek's Eye and give this to Marfen Binkdirple to get a Mechanical Doll.
Take the
Mechanical Doll to Unrest and give it to Serra Swiftsong; she lives near a
gnome to the right of the mansion; you may need a group to keep silly stuff
away while you talk to Serra. Give her
the doll and she'll give you a note to take back to her dad, Braenar.
Go back to
South Karana and give Braenar his daughter's Note; he'll give you a note to
take to Maligar.
Go to West
Karana and look for Maligar; you may have to use your Mask of Deception or
bring an enchanter along to charm him.
Give him the note and a Doppleganger will spawn. Kill Maligar and his Doppleganger and get
Maligar's Head. (Supposedly you don't have to kill both, just the
Doppleganger.)
Take
Maligar's Head back to South Karana to Braenar to get Mahlin's Bongos; go to
West Karana and give Konia the Bongos to get the Bottom Half of Page 24.
Part
Three, or Do You Have the Guts for This?
Find
Kelkim Menkia in South Karana, near –250 x –3650. She wants guts.
Go to
Skyfire and kill Eldrig the Old to get Chromadrac Guts. Chromadracs debuff; keep that in mind.
Go to
Burning Woods and kill Nezekezena to get Red Wurm Guts; you may want to take
your mage friends with you since Nez spawns near the Mage epic monster in this
zone. (about –450 x –2550ish, and everything in sight is a PH)
Go to
Rathe Mountains and kill Blackwing for Huge Onyx Drake Guts; supposedly
everything near the sphinx is a PH for Blackwing.
Go back to
South Karana and give Kelkim the guts you got to get Page 25.
Part Four,
Mystical Lute Head and Neck
Find
Forpar Fizfla in Steamfont and follow his triggers.
To get the
Head and Neck of the Lute, go talk to Vedico Windwisper in Butcherblock. She wants the Alluring Horn.
Go to
Ocean of Tears, kill Quag Maelstrom, and loot the Horn; take it to Vedico and
she will give you a note to take to Forpar.
Forpar will give you another note and tell you to bring him three more
things. This is where your life gets
interesting.
Go to
Kedge Keep; take at least 2 groups, and ensure that everyone has an enduring
breath item so you don't have to worry about constantly twisting the song for
it. Kill Phinigel Autropos and get his
Spine, which may also be called a Backbone.
Go to
Plane of Fear and get the Amygdalan Tentacle or Tendril; this is a whip that
drops from the Amygdalan Warriors or Knights.
Go to
Karnor's Castle and kill the Drolvarg Warlord to get the Petrified Skull of a
Lycanthrope (petrified werewolf skull).
Take the
Bone, the Tendril, and the Skull back to Forpar to get the Head and Neck of the
Lute.
Part Five,
Mystical Lute Body
Forfar
will offer you the Body of the Lute too.
Follow his triggers.
Kill any
Red dragon in Norrath and loot a Large Red Dragon Scale. (Nagafen, Ragefire,
Talendor; or you can go to the Hole and kill Nortlav and just get his.)
Kill any
White dragon and loot a Large White Dragon Scale. If you're too high-level to kill Vox, then you have to kill
Gorenaire in the Dreadlands.
Now make 2
"metal bits."
Take the
Red Scale, the White Scale, and the UNSTACKED metal bits back to Forfar. Give them to him and he'll give you the Body
of the Lute.
Part Six,
Stringing You Along
Forpar
will now offer you the strings for your Lute. He wants the guts off the Trakanon Clone in Sebilis.
Go to
Sebilis. Find the Undead Bard. Give him the Body of the Lute; he will give
it back and then attack you. Kill him
to force the Trakanon Clone to spawn.
The poison from the Trakanon Clone may wipe out the raid; you will have
to have people constantly casting cures and complete heals.
Take the
Trakanon Guts, the Head and Neck of the Lute, and the Body of the Lute back to
Forpar to get Forpar's Mystical Lute.
Finish
Tired yet?
Go back to Dreadlands and give Baldric Page 24 Top, Page 24 Bottom, and Page 25
of Maestro's Symphony, along with the Mystical Lute. He will give you...
.... the Singing
Short Sword which not
only buffs your group, but amplifies your songs, and works like ALL instruments
in one.
Part One, Kitty Boxes!
Quest Initiator – Historian Sharar, Library in Upper Shar Vahl. Hail him and follow his triggers. He wants you to take a book to Dumul, in another part of Shar Vahl.
Go to the Beastlord Guild Hall and find Elder Animist Dumul. When you give him the book, he'll talk to you. He wants to know something about disturbed spirits. He'll ask for the Copper Medal of War.
Go to Grimling Forest and buy a Polished Acrylia Sphere. Find Scout Husman (-800 x –1200)and give him the sphere; he'll go try to beat up some Grimlings. Keep him alive and kill the Grimlings with him. It generally takes two groups; make sure you have a taunt-capable class with you. If a Grimling officer doesn't spawn you'll have to start over by letting Husman die and respawn, and giving him another sphere. Kill the Officer and loot his scalp. Husman will give you the Copper Medal of War.
Take the Medal back to Dumul in Shar Vahl to get an Official Seal of the Khati Sha and a Carved Wooden Crate.
Follow Dumul's triggers. He talks about totems carved in the images of true-spirits. You are going to have to take the Official Seal to six different Scouts on Norrath and Luclin. These scouts are totally random and fairly uncommon spawns; leave a tracker in each zone and check a few times a day to find them when they appear. Each Scout triggers a Spirit, whom you will have to defeat in combat. The Spirits are magic resistant, un-snareable, un-rootable, and some of them flurry, cast AoEs, and summon. It doesn't matter what order you hunt the Spirits.
Part Two,
The Scouts and Spirits
(Antonica)
Freezing Your Tail Off
Go to
Permafrost and find Scout Janomin near the entrance. Have a Mage in the group who can Call-of-Hero you (or suicide and
have your body dragged or pulled to the group to rez you in for the fight) to
the bear pits. Have the group clear the
way to the bear pits and wait there for you to show the Scout your Seal. Show him your seal, and the Icebound Spirit
spawns. Get yourself to the group and
fight the Spirit. Once the Icebound
Spirit has been killed, loot his totem and give it to Scout Janomin to get the
Wrapped Ice Bear Totem and another Seal.
Put the Totem into the container you got from Dumul.
(Antonica)
Creepy Crawly
Go to
Feerrott and find Scout Ahlikal at 375 x –2440. Give him the seal to spawn the Spirit of Decay. Decay pops a bit north of the Scout and it's
a huge yellowish spider with an AoE snare and poison DoT. Kill him and loot the totem. Take the totem to Ahlikal to get the Wrapped
Spider Totem to put in your box, and get the next Seal.
(Faydwer)
Blinding Wolf
Go to
Lesser Faydark and look for Scout Rahjiq, along the wall at about 190 x
–1885. Give him the seal and soon the
Spirit of Malevolence will spawn near the Shadowman altar. He's a big white wolf, and he casts an AoE
Blind spell. Kill him and loot his
totem to give to Scout Rahjiq to get the Wrapped Wolf Totem and another
Seal. Put the totem in your box and
hold on to the seal.
(Odus)
Learn to Fly!
Go to
Stonebrunt Mountains and look for Scout Malom near the falls at about 3650 x
minus3530. Make sure your groups have some form of levitation on, because when
you give Malom your Seal, the Spirit of Torment will spawn at the top of the
falls – and he'll cast Gravity Flux on you and your friends. Kill him and loot the totem; give the totem
and your seal to Malom to get the Wrapped Watcher Totem.
(Kunark) I
Said Gecko, Not –
Go to
Swamp of No Hope and look for Scout Eyru near minus3510 x 2345. Make sure everyone with you has Enduring
Breath in addition to the usual fighting buffs. Give him the Seal to spawn the Spirit of Sorrow. The Spirit spawns slightly north of where
you are in a small lake. Keep in mind
that aside from living underwater, this Spirit also has an AoE stun spell, and
he isn't afraid to use it. Kill him,
get the totem, and take it back to Eyru to get the Wrapped Alligator Totem and
the next seal.
(Kunark)
Monkey Boy
Go to
Emerald Jungle and find Scout Vyrak on the plateau near 235 x 4210. Give him your Seal, and a Totem Fiendling
spawns. It will try to kill Vyrak, so
kill it first. Before you go for the
Spirit of Rage, leave someone near Vyrak to protect him; most things in the
area will try to kill him, and you need him to stay around long enough to get
your stuff from him. A little south of
Vyrak is a ruin; within that will spawn the Spirit of Rage. He looks a bit like
a raging gorilla. Rage can use an AoE Fear, and he also Flurries. Kill him and loot the totem; hand the totem
to Vyrak to get the Wrapped Gorilla Totem.
Part
Three, Mirror, Mirror
You should
have six Wrapped Totems in your nifty little box now. Hit COMBINE, and you'll get a Sealed Box of Totems. Go back to Dumal in Shar Vahl and give him
the Sealed Box. Talk with him and he'll
tell you about Draz Nurakk, who is hiding out in Timorous Deep. He'll give you the Seal of Elder Dumul to
take to the Scout in Timorous.
Go to
Timorous, to the Chessboard (just have a Druid or Wizard succor/evac your
groups there, but remember to use invis because some folks will be KoS to the
creatures living at the Chessboard.)
Find Scout Sihmoj and talk to him; show him your Seal to get a bag. Draz Nurrak will spawn nearby, on Raptor
Island. Kill him; his corpse explodes
and six more Images of Draz Nurakk will spawn.
They can't be snared, rooted, mezzed, stunned, or slowed, and it's
easiest to have a Feign Death puller bring them one at a time to the fighting
groups. EACH ONE will drop a Shard of
Broken Glass, so make sure you loot all six of them to put in the bag you got
from Sihmoj. When you have all six, hit
Combine and then take the finished bag back to Sihmoj. He'll give it back and tell you to go back
to Elder Dumul in Shar Vahl.
Part Four,
Magical Claws
Go back to
Dumul and give him your bag. He'll
mention that you need something special in the way of weaponry for your
upcoming battles, and he'll give you a note for Arms Historian Qua, who lives
around minus175 x 50, and may be on the second floor of the building. Give Qua your note; he'll give you a receipt
and send you to find Weapons Master Rahoul, who lives at about minus106 x
minus540. Look round the building for
him; he also may not be on the ground floor.
Give him the receipt that Qua gave you, and talk to him. Rahoul will give you a box and tell you to
find a Large Chunk of Perfect Acrylia Ore, Two Gems of the Void, and a Chunk of
Dense Fungal Padding.
The Gems
come from Maiden's Eye, from the Xi-series undead. They're No-Drop, and can't
be multi-quested, so they're of use only to Beastlords. As you hunt the Xi, do a zone shout from
time to time in case someone has a Gem rotting somewhere.
The
Padding drops off Shreikers in The Deep; it's totally random. There is a shreiker camp near the zone in; a
group of three can simply sit there and beat them up till you get your Padding.
The Ore is
a little harder. It comes from The
Grey, so you'll need Enduring Breath to get it. I have read a lot of different guides as to what drops it, how to
spawn the things that drop it, and how to get it. None of them actually work, as far as I can tell; it's a matter
of sheer luck. The Ore is simply an
insanely rare drop off of anything with "stone" in the name; that is
to say Stonebeast, Stonefiend, Stonehands.
As with the Padding and Gems, the Ore is useless to anyone but
Beastlords, and can't be multiquested, so it's worth your while to shout for it
while you're hunting, because someone else may find some before you do. The up-side to this is, you and your friends
should get at least half a level of experience as you kill things to get the
Ore.
Once you
have the two Gems, the Padding, and the Ore, combine them in the box you got
from Rahoul and go back to him. When
you give the box to him, he will give you a set of Claws. Take the Claws back to Dumul and show them
to him. He's going to send you out after
Draz Nurakk – it will be the real one, this time. Dumul will hand you back your Claws, a Seal, and a box, and send
you out to find Scout Halmia in Fungus Grove.
Part Five,
Final Battle
Go to
Fungus Grove. You will need two groups for this. You want to be caster and healer heavy. Make sure you have your Claws equipped – No weapons but the Claws
can hurt the true form of Draz Nurakk, although he can be snared, slowed,
DoTed, and nuked.
Position
your groups in the cul-de-sac behind the abandoned village. Go to Scout Halmia, near the Twilight Sea
entrance to Fungus Grove. Make sure your puller is near the abandoned village
before you give Halmia the Seal. Have a Druid, Ranger, Shadow Knight, or
Necromancer snare-pull Draz back to the group.
Have a taunt-class keep his attention while you use your Claws to kill
him, and the casters do their thing to him.
When he is dead, loot his Head.
There will be other drops on him that are of use to any young beastlords
who may have come to help you.
**Please
Note** There is some evidence that Draz is "buggy". If he does not spawn within five minutes
when you show Halmia your Seal, then go back to Dumul. Show him your Claws again and start again
from there.
Put Draz
Nurakk's Head, your Seal, and your Claws in the box that Dumul gave you, and
hit Combine. Take the box back to
Dumul. He will reward you by shouting
to the entire city how brave and clever you are....
.... And
then he will give you the Claws of Savage Spirit, Sha's Vengeance and the Fury of the Vah Shir, the magical claws with
their Slow and Haste effects and their combat stat adds. Well done, Beastlord!
Paladin
Fiery Defender
The Paladin Epic Weapon was the first one ever discovered.
Part One, Truth
Go to North Freeport to the Hall of Truth and find Kalatrina Plossen on the second floor. Hail her and respond to her triggers. She will give you a note to take to a spy who lives in the Freeport Militia House courtyard.
Hail the Spy, listen to him, hand him the Note. When you do this, the Militia will kill him but he will give you an Old Piece of Burned Parchment to take to Kalatrina.
Go back to Kalatrina but DO NOT GIVE HER THE NOTE. Talk to her; she should send you to find Rashinda Elore in the Office of the People.
Talk to Rashinda; she's lonely and will want quite a conversation. Eventually she will send you to Groflah Steadirt.
Go to Groflah's Forge and look for Groflah on the second floor. Ask him about Zimel; respond to his triggers, and then give him the note from the spy. He invites you to come to the Seafarer's Roost and have a drink with him; he also hands you back your note.
Go to the Seafarer's Roost and wait for Groflah. Ask him about Zimel again; give him the note. Eventually he'll send you out to find the Soulfire. He'll mention Sir Lucan and Pietro Zarn.
Look around the tavern for a beggar named Tykar. You'll need to buy him three Drom's Champagne; give them to him one at a time; follow his triggers. He'll give you a Blanket. You will also need to buy some Bog Juice (or brew your own) and some Edible Goo (or bake your own).
Part Two, Dungeon Crawls, or the Soulfire
Find Zimel in the dungeons under the Freeport
Arena. Respond to his triggers; give
him the blankey, the booze, and the goo.
He will give you a key.
Take the Key to High Keep and find the Bank
Clerk. Give it to her and she will give
you a note to take to Brother Hayle, a prisoner in Splitpaw.
Go to Splitpaw, give Brother Hayle the note,
and respond to his triggers; he will give you back your note. He tells you that you need a Hilt, a Sword,
and a Testimony before he will give you the Soulfire.
Find Xicotl in Mistmoore; he lives in the
spa-bedroom-throne room area of the castle.
Although he's very random and horrendously rare, he DOES drop the Hilt
that you need every time.
Go back to East Freeport. Kill Sir Lucan (it takes a group). Then kill his ghost. Loot the Testimony from him and take that
and the Hilt to Valeron in the Hall of Truth to get the Brilliant Sword of
Faith.
Talk to Merko in the Hall of Truth; he will
give you a note to take to Altunic Jartin in East Commons.
Go to East Commons, and buy a cloth shirt from
a vendor. Find Altunic's house near the
West Commons border, and wait for him. Give him the note to spawn Squire
Narl. Kill Narl and get his head. Give Narl's Head and the Cloth Shirt to
Altunic, and he will give you the Token of Generosity.
Kill spiders to get a Spider Venom Sac; you
could also purchase this from a vendor.
Take this back to Merko in Freeport; hail him, respond to his triggers,
and give him the Spider Venom Sac to get the Token of Bravery from him.
Now hand him the Token of Generosity and then
the Token of Bravery to make him tell you what to do next. He'll send you to the sewers to find Guard
Willa.
Go to the sewers, and head left; you should
see Guard Willa. Hail her quickly, then
kill her to loot the Token of Truth.
Take this back to Merko to get your Testimony.
Take the Testimony, the Hilt, and the Sword
back to Brother Hayle in Splitpaw. Make sure you are "ally" to
him. If you aren't, you will have to do
the Freeport Muffin Quest, which considering that you've just ticked off the
Freeport Militia, may be a little hard to do.
If you are, he'll give you the Soulfire.
Part Three, Noble Sentiments, or the Ghoulbane
You CAN try killing the Froglok Shin Lord in
Upper Guk in the hidden room to get this weapon. If that doesn't work or you get bored, you can simply quest for
it.
Go to West Karana and find Ryshon Huntsi at
–4200 x –15,000. Follow his triggers to
get a Note for Kanthuk Ogrebane.
Take the Note to Kanthuk in Butcherblock; he
should live around 2200 x 3000, near the docks. Follow his triggers and give him the note; he will give you a
Pendant and send you off to Dagnor's Cauldron to find Lara.
Go to Dagnor's Cauldron; look for Lara around
–1750 x –950. Hail her; give her the
Pendant; follow her triggers until you get a note for Ruathey.
Go to Lavastorm, to the Nektulos zone area and
find Ruathey. Give her Lara's Note and
she'll give you a Nobleman's Bag.
Go to Najena and kill skeletons until you get
a Hilt of the Nobleman. Put it in the bag.
Go to High Keep and kill crazed goblins until
you get an Amstaff Scroll. Put it in
the bag.
Go to Butcherblock, to the goblin camp at 1330
x –1500; kill crazed goblins until you get a Blade of Nobility. Put it in the bag.
Go to the Estate of Unrest and kill the crazed
ghouls on the second floor of the castle until you get a Ghoul's Heart. Put that in the bag, too.
Hit COMBINE and the Hilt, Scroll, Blade, and
Heart will turn into the Ghoulbane.
Part Four, Now You're Cooking, or the Fiery
Avenger
Kill Nagafen (Sol B), Faydedar (Timorous
Deep), Talendor (Skyfire), or Severilous (Emerald Jungle) to get the Torn Burnt
Book. Nagafen can't be fought if you're
level 53 or higher; he will toss you to the zone line and tell you to go
away.
Kill Lady Vox (Perma Keep), Faydedar (Timorous
Deep), or Gorenaire (Dreadlands) to get the Book of Frost. Lady Vox can't be fought if you're level 53
or higher; she will toss you to the zone line and tell you to leave her alone.
As with all dragons, three or four solid
groups will be enough to kill any of these, and each one also drops things that
others need for their epic quests, so it shouldn't be wildly hard to get help
for this.
Take the Torn Burnt Book and the Book of
Frost, and 1000 platinum to Rineval Talyas in North Qeynos. Give Rineval the Books and the money and you
will get the Book of Scale.
Take the Book of Scale to Ocean of Tears and
give it to the Oracle to get Miragul's Phylactery.
Go to Everfrost to the Ice Caves and look for
the Lich of Miragul. You will need an ENCHANTER to come with you to CHARM this
guy. Once he is charmed, give him the
Phylactery and Miragul will spawn. Kill
him to loot Miragul's Head and Miragul's Robe.
Take two groups to make sure you get this done right; if you do NOT,
then you have to go back and kill the dragons again to re-make the Book of
Scale.
Go to Plane of Air. Leave someone separate from the raid force on Isle One. When the raid is ready to go to Pegasus
Island (fourth island) have the person on Isle One buy a Key of Veeshan from
the Keymaster. ONLY the questing
Paladins should proceed to Pegasus Island right now. The person triggering the quest goes to the Quest Island and
looks for Dason Goldblade. She should
hail Dason, tell him "I am pure of heart and soul" and give him the
Book of Scale. He'll give it back, at
which point she should say, "I wish to be tested by Dirkog". Dason will hand back the Book, and Dirkog
will spawn in the caves. She should go
to Dirkog, hail him, and keep talking to him.
This will make Inte Akera spawn on the fourth island.
Inte Akera spawns at about 765 x –560 on the
fourth island. Give him the Soulfire
and he will give you the Blessing of Nobility.
Give him the Soulfire and he will give you the Blessing of Sacrifice.
Give him the Blessing of Nobility, the
Blessing of Sacrifice, Miragul's Head, and Miragul's Robe.
He will give you the Fiery Avenger in return,
proving to everyone that you can stick to a job.
Part Five, The Fiery Defender, or Look Ma, I
did it!
Go to Erudin and find Reklon Gnallen. He will send you to find Irak Altil, in the
Plane of Fear.
Go to Plane of Fear and find Irak. Hail him and follow his triggers. He will tell you he needs a breastplate,
sword, and shield.
Go to Nektulos and find Kirak Vil; he is a
timed spawn. He is
magic-resistant. Kill him and loot the
Tainted Shield. Take the Shield to Elia
the Pure in Felwithe. She will give you
the Gleaming Crested Shield.
Go to Plane of Hate. Kill Thought Destroyers to get the Tainted Dark Steel
Breastplate. Go to Kaladim and find
Jark. Follow his triggers and bring him
his dinner from Nella, who stands near the temple. Hail her and follow her
triggers to get Jark's dinner. Take it
back to him. He'll give you a gem. Go to Erudin and give Reklon Gnallen the
Breastplate and the Gem. He'll give you
back the Gleaming Breastplate.
Go to The Hole and kill the Keeper of Tombs.
He is a seven-day spawn and he is insanely rare. Get the Tainted Sword from him.
Go to the Peasant Woman in West Freeport. Tell her you'll carry her bucket to Joshua at the bakery. Give him the bucket, and he'll give you a
bucket of Pure Water. Take the Sword
and the Pure Water to Reklon Gnallen in Erudin. Give them to him and he will give you back the Gleaming Crested
Sword.
Now, give Reklon the new Shield, Sword, and Breastplate. He will give you the Mark of Atonement. Follow his triggers. He will send you back to Irak in the Plane of Fear.
Finish
Go to the Plane of Fear and find Irak
again. Give him the Mark of Atonement
and your Fiery Avenger....
.... And he will give you the Fiery Defender, the beautiful blade that proves to all who see you that you are pure
of heart and soul.
Faelin Bloodbriar – Greater Faydark. LOC 1500 x 500; near Crushbone. Be in Form; the lady is FAST. Chase her, hail her, give her the note to get your ring.
Telin Darkforest in Burning Woods. Give him the Dark Metal Coin to get a Worn Metal Coin. He will send you to East Karana in search of Athele.
*note* Once you go to turn the coin into Athele, you will have to finish what you start. Don't go unless you mean it.
Athele – East Karana fishing villiage. Have the fighting group at minus1500 x minus1000, ready to kill the reavers when they pop. Give the coin to Athele to get an Amulet. Take this to Sionae (track her) then to Nuien (track him) then to Teola. Within one minute the Corruptor and Reavers will spawn – you MUST kill the Corruptor and loot the Tome, that's your component drop.
Athele – Take the Tome to Athele to get your Earthstained Note.
Ella Foodcrafter – Misty Thicket. Track her; use SoE or Form, she also does not stop. Give her the Earthstained note to get your Mixing Bowl. She'll also mention an "Ancient Bowl".
Part Two, Foraging
Go to Everfrost; forage a Chilled Tundra Root
Go to Misty Thicket; forage a Sweetened Mudroot
Go to Innothule Swamp; forage a Moldy Mushroom
Go to Greater Faydark; forage a Heartfruit
Combine these in the Bowl that Ella gave you to get a Hardened Mixture. Keep both the Shiny Tin Bowl and the Hardened Mixture.
Part Three, Seeing the Sights
To do that, go to Niola Impholder in the Mage guild in Felwithe South. Then go back to Alrik. Once he likes you.... Hail him, use his trigger phrases. He gives you a Crushed Pot.
Farios Elianos – Felwithe South, in the merchant building on the right as you zone in. Hail him; if he responds fine. If not, batwings again. Again you MUST be amiable to him. Give him the Pot; he gives you a Grocery List that you take to Merchant Nora in the Shop of All Halos in North Felwithe.
Merchant Nora – North Felwithe. Give her the Grocery List to get the Bag of Provisions. Take the Bag to Farios to get the reciept for the Ancient Bowl.
Alrik Farsight again – Give him the Reciept to get an Ancient Pattern.
Go to Firiona Vie and forage a Rose of Firiona. Take it to Merdan Fleetfoot in Surefall Glade to get an Old Wooden Painting.
Niera Farbreeze – Surefall Glade, near the waterfall. Give her the Locket to get the Platinum Speckled Powder.
Combine the Powder, the Clay, and the Ancient Pattern in a pottery wheel. (No, you don't need any pottery skill) Now you have the Rune Crested Bowl.
Part Four, Risking Death
Ella Foodcrafter – Misty Thicket. Give her the Hardened Mixture and the Rune Crested Bowl to get the Softly Glowing Stone.
Foloal Stormforest – Firiona Vie. She runs around the wall on the north end of the city. Hail her, respond to her conversation, and she sends you to Karnor's Castle.
Venril Sathir's Remains – Karnor's Castle. Hail the Remains after VS has been killed. Give him a Globe of Fireflies (level 5 conjure spell, remember? I suggest you conjure it in advance; this spell can only be cast at night). He depops and another Remains spawns. Give him the spell-scroll for Cleric Level 49 Resurrection. Kill him. Two Pulsing Green Stones drop; you need one of them. If there is a druid in the group, let him have the other.
Folaol Stormforest – Firiona Vie. Give her the softly glowing stone and the pulsing green stone to get a Warmly Glowing Stone.
**PLEASE NOTE*** To this point, Druids
and Rangers follow an identical path.
From here onward, however, the quests are DIFFERENT! Druids go back to Misty Thicket. Rangers go
back to Burning Woods. **PLEASE NOTE***
Telin Darkforest – Go back to Telin and give him the Warmly Glowing Stone to get your Ancient Longsword. Well done, Ranger. You're halfway to your goal.
Go to the Plane of Air. When the raid has killed the Essence Tamer on the fourth island, loot the Swirling Sphere of Color.
Go back to Erudin and give Mairee back her Hammer, and the Swirling Sphere. She will then give you the Hammer of the Ancients.
Take the Hammer of the Ancients to Kinlos Strongarm in Kaladim. Usbak the Old will wake up, and he will give you a Small Bit of Mithril Ore. Take the Ore, and give him your Ancient Longsword. He will give you the Refined Ancient Sword. Give the Ore to Kinlo to get your Refined Mithril Blade. WATCH the order you do this in!
Now go to the Plane of Hate, and look for the Shattered Emerald of Corruption. Innoruuk drops this, but sometimes the other "boss" monsters will drop it as well.
Part Six, Blades of Power
You're almost there, Ranger... Can you feel the tingling in your palms where the hilts of your weapons will rest?
Go back to Burning Woods, to Telin Darkforest. Give him the Refined Ancient Blade, which he will give it back to you.
When Faelin spawns, give her the Refined Ancient Sword...
... And she will give you Swiftwind... with its stat adds and its haste effect.
Take the Emerald, and the Refined Mithril Blade and go to the far northern edge of North Karana. Find the treant named Xanuusus, and give him the Blade and the Emerald...
get a Dervish Cutthroat Ring from a Dervish
Go to Reyia; follow her triggers to
turn in
Red Sash – Go to
Najena and kill Ekeros for a Blackened Sapphire (Sapphire of Souls)
Go to Befallen; kill Priest Amiez
for a Blackened Wand (Wand of Marnek)
Take these back to Reyia.
Part Two,
Headband Quests
Phin Esrinap in
Qeynos
White Headband –
4 Gnoll Pup Scalps from near Qeynos
Yellow Headband
– 3 Putrid Rib Bones from skeletons in Haunted Ruins of Qeynos Hills
Orange Headband
– 2 Blackburrow Gnoll Pelts; 1 Blackburrow Gnoll Skin. Ruined Pelts and Skins will NOT work.
Togahn Sorast in
Qeynos
Red Headband –
Orange Headband; Head of Granhex Drah from Skeleton camp in South Karana; Head
of Shen from High Shaman Grisok in South Karana; Brother Dareb's Skull from
High Shaman Phido in South Karana. It's
helpful to have a tracker for the South Karana spawns.
Purple Headband
– Red Headband; Skull of Jhen'Tra from Gnoll Embalmers in Lake Rathe; Dagger of
Marnek from Thaumaturgist in Befallen; Coronet of Buried Blood (Zaharn's
Coronet) from High Priest Zaharn in Permafrost.
Part Three, Robe
of Lost Circle, or Do You Feel A Draft?
Go to South
Karana; take a tracker; look for Brother Qwinn. Hail him, follow his triggers, and he will send you out after
some stuff that was stolen from his Order.
Go to Solusek B;
kill Targin the Rock in the King camp; loot the Code from him. Take it back to Qwinn. Give Qwinn the Code and the Purple Headband. He will give you the Needle of the Void and
then send you out looking for Brother Zephyl, who lives in Rathe Mountains.
Go to Rathe
Mountains and take a tracker with you.
Zephyl and Hasten (the J-Boots gnome) are placeholders for one
another. It's rumoured that the ranger
Maldyn the Unkempt may be one of his placeholders, too. Hail Brother Zephyl and he tells you he
wants the Idol of Zan Fi.
Go to Lower Guk,
near the Minotaur Pit and kill Raster to get the Idol. He spawns at about 8am Norrath time. He's
insanely rare. Feign Death and an alarm
clock have just become your best friends.
Go back to Rathe
Mountains, give Zephyl the Red Sash and the Idol, and he will give you the Rare
Robe Pattern. Now you learn to sew.
Put Shadow Silk, a copy of
Jonathon's Whistling Warsong, the Needle of the Void, and the Rare Robe Pattern
in a Large Sewing Kit and Combine to get the Robe of the Lost Circle.
[Shadow Silk (Shadow Wolf Pelt, Silk
Swatch made from two Spider Silks, Scroll of Gathering Shadows from any
Necromancer Guild vendor) You need
Tailoring skill of about 50 to succeed with this, and to make the Robe itself]
Part Four, Robe
of the Whistling Fists, or Iksars and Sarnaks and Chanters, Oh My!
Go to Dreadlands
to the Lost Valley; go to the pyramids near the Wizard Spires. Take an enchanter or Necromancer with you to
charm him so he does not kill you; Bard charm doesn't really work.
Hail him, follow
his triggers. He will send you out to
get the True Drape.
Go to Chardok,
kill the Iksar Betrayer to get A Metal Pipe, or "Fi".
Go to Karnor's
Castle, kill the Pawbuster to get A Metal Pipe or "Zan".
Go back to
Dreadlands with your charm-capable friend, charm him, and turn in the Metal
Pipes and your Robe of the Lost Circle to get the Robe of Whistling Fists.
Part Five, Celestial
Fists, or He Hit Me Back!
Go to Erudin, to
the 2nd floor of the Library, and talk to Tomekeeper Danl. Follow his triggers.
Go to Skyfire;
kill anything named, soul devourers, or lava walkers, and loot the Book of
Immortals.
Take the book
back to Danl; he gives you a piece of paper called Dahl's Reference to take to
Lheao.
Go to Timorous
Deep to the hidden oasis (where Cleric and Druid stuff happens; tunnel opening
is –11355 x –3655; swim in, and around to second tunnel at –11355 x 1365 to get
there) and find Lheao.
Hail him and
tell him that you have found the Book of Immortals. Follow his triggers.
Give him the
Robe of Whistling Fists and Dahl's Reference.
He will give you a Celestial Fists Book.
Part Six,
Changing the Book, or Paying Library Fines
Go to Trakanon's
Teeth and look for Kaiaren at about –1610 x –2680. Hail him and hand him your Book; you can either kill him or feign
death; you get your book back.
Now you have to
find the True Kaiaren; he may be near 300 x 2400, but he should be near the
lake. Hail him, hand him the Celestial
Fists Book, and follow his triggers.
When he's done talking, the book has changed to The Book Of Celestial
Fists. Be careful with it.
Part Seven,
Celestial Fists, or Come on In, the Lava, the Air, and the Mines are Fine!
Go to Lavastorm;
hail A Fire Sprite and tell it, "I challenge Eejag." When Eejag has spaned, go down into the lava
pit outside Sol B entrance. Eejag can't
move from his spot and he summons you to him.
Kill him and loot the Charred Scale.
Take this back to the True Kaiaren; he sends you out after the Fist of
Air.
Go to Plane of
Air, to Noble Dojorn's Island; find the Presence and hand him the Charred Scale
to make him turn into Gwan; kill Gwan and loot the Breath of Gwan.
Go to the Mines
of Nurga (within Frontier Mountains); find the place where the lava is and hand
the Sleeping Ogre your Breath of Gwan.
This makes Trunt spawn; kill him and get his Head.
Part Eight,
Astral Projections, or Who Are You Really?
Go to the
Overthere, to the Scorpion pits. The
entrance is about –1400 x –1200; your group can either fight in or go in
invisible, which is a lot easier. The
Astral Projection is at about 770 x 860.
Hand him Trunt's Head and follow the triggers. He will eventually give you the Eye of Kaiaren.
Go to Lake of
Ill Omen, get SoE or SoW and some form of Levitate or DMF. Have your groups wait on the shore while you
run out to the platform and turn in Kaiaren's Eye to him.
The Projection
will despawn. Deep and Vorash will
spawn; bring them back to the groups and kill them. Kill Deep first, then Vorash. When Vorash is dead, Xenevorash
will spawn. Bring him from the platform
to your groups, and make sure he is snared.
Loot the Demon Fangs from him.
Finish
Take the altered
Book of Celestial Fists and the Demon Fangs back to Kaiaren. (It doesn't matter if you give them to the
Mad Kaiaren or the True Kaiaren.)
He will give you
the Celestial Fists,
the handwraps that mark your mastery over the world you walk.
Rogue
Ragebringer
Part One, Meeting People
Go to the Aqueducts of Qeynos and look for Malka Rale near 380 x –210. If she isn't home, leave the courier alone; he will despawn at 8pm Norrath time and at 10pm Norrath time, she will come back. Talk to her and you'll get Stanos' Pack.
Go to North Kaladim and look for Founy Jestands. He lives near the bank and comes to work about 7am Norrath time. Pick his pocket – that is after all what you DO, isn't it? If he attacks, simply zone out. If he hasn't got the Stained Parchment Top that you need, come back next Norrath day and try again.
Go to Neriak, to the Third Gate, and look for Tani N'Mar. She wakes up around 7pm Norrath time, and you have to pick her pocket, too, for the bottom of the Stained Parchment. I said her POCKET, boys! Watch those fingers. Your MoD comes in handy here; so do sneak and hide; so does a druid or wizard friend who can pop you OUT of Neriak as soon as you've gotten the Bottom piece.
Go to High Pass Hold and find the smugglers' hideout. It's through an underwater passage near the docks of the inn. If Anson will talk to you, tell him you need to see Stanos. If he won't, then kill the smugglers until Anson does pop in to see what's going on. Remember, the smugglers are Rogues like you – that means they backstab. Once Stanos does show up, give him the two bits of parchment, and he'll hand you back a whole parchment.
Go to Lake Rathe and find Eldreth. He lives near 2600 x –550, and he isn't always home. Give him the Combined Parchment, 100 platinum, and 2 bottles of milk. (Don't stack the milk; hand him the bottles separately.) If you are not at least INDIFFERENT to Eldreth, then sneak behind him to give him your items. He'll give you a Scribbled Parchment.
Part Two, Expanding Your Horizons
Go to Hate Plane and find the Book of Souls on the nightstand in Maestro's bedroom, which is on the top floor of Rancor's mansion. Remember, the monsters will grab the book if no one else does. If you try to sneak your way in, be careful; it may just be easier to go along on an ordinary Hate raid. Maestro may have the book, the "hands" may have the book, and any random monster may have the book.
Go to Steamfont and look for Yendar Starpyre. He's the guy wearing the SMR. Chase him and say "Book". He should stop; when he does, give him the Scribbled Parchment. He'll give you a Tattered Parchment and vanish. Once he comes back, give him the Tattered Parchment and the Book of Souls. He'll vanish again, and in his place will be Renux, a level 50+ Human Rogue. Have a necromancer snare and fear her and have the necro's pet help you fear kite her. You may also want a mage along for extra pet support. DO NOT let her get behind anyone – you know what your Backstab can do, imagine what hers can. When she's dead, pick up the Translated Parchment and the Jagged Diamond Dagger. You're halfway there, Rogue!
Back to High Pass Hold now, and again, make Stanos spawn. Give him the Translated Parchment and he'll hand you a sealed box.
Part Three, Party in Kithicor
Find the Dark Elf House near +800 x +2400. Go at night. Yes, dear, AT NIGHT. You will need 3 50+ groups for this portion of your quest, because you are about to fight the Rogue's equivalent of a dragon. Park the groups in a safe location, usually on the road near – but not too near – the House. Give the Sealed Box to one of the people in the House, and General V'Ghera will spawn. Pull him away from his friends as fast as you can, and kill him. Remember, he Harm Touches, quad attacks, and hates everyone. Fire based nukes will help with him, as will Snare. When you have killed him, loot the General's Pouch. He may also drop the Cazic Quill. If he does NOT.... Well, time for you to run around some more.
Part Four, Cazic Quill
If the General didn't have the Quill, you'll need to get it elsewhere.
Phinigel Autropos in Kedge Keep will drop the Robe of Kedge; this is an ULTRA rare drop. You will need two well balanced 50+ groups, and Enduring Breath or an Enduring Breath item, to get to Phinney and his robe.
The Ghoul Magi in Lower Guk wears a Shiny Metallic Robe; you will need a partner for this camp, or you can buy the robe.
The Oracle, in Ocean of Tears, dresses in an Oracle Robe. Take a druid or wizard with you so that once you've killed him you can grab his robe and leave. You could, if you wanted, purchase this blue dress instead of killing for it.
Ishva Mal in Splitpaw will drop the Robe of Ishva; you could also purchase this robe.
Now, once you have all four robes, go to the bandit camp in West Karana, at about +340 x –6700. Look for Vilinus the Small; if he is not up, you'll have to kill bandits, including the runners, until a Brigand pops. Leave this guy alone, and at 11pm Norrath time he fades away and Vilinus comes. Talk to him, give him the four Robes, and he'll give you your Quill.
Part Five, Are We There Yet?
Polish up those daggers, Rogue, and make sure you're looking your best, before you head back to High Pass Hold. Go again to the smugglers' cove, and look for your old buddy Stanos. Give him Cazic's Quill, the General's Pouch, and your Jagged Diamond Dagger....
... And Stanos will give you Ragebringer, the beautiful jeweled dagger with its stat adds, Haste effect, and Seething Fury. Well done, Rogue! Now treat your friends to a round of booze before you think about picking their pockets as you slip into the shadows and go on your way.
The Red Scabbard (Blades of Strategy
and Tactics, Jagged Blade of War)
Part One, Exploring
1) Unjeweled Dragonhead Hilt – Lake Rathe, under the Aviak Diving board
2) Diamond, Jacinth, Black Sapphire – Planes, Karnor's, Sebilis, or purchased
3) Jeweled Dragonhead Hilt – Take the gems and hilt to Wenden Blackhammer in East Freeport; he makes your hilt.
Part Two, Running Around
1) Damaged Dragonhead Hilt – Timorous Deep Chessboard, LOC minus6500 by plus3000, lying on the ground at the feet of (I THINK!) the King piece
2) Giant Sized Monocle – Frontier Mountains, off Giant Patriarch – rare spawn, ULTRA-rare drop; force spawn by killing everything in the Fortress, or by offering to help the lowbee groups who are doing this; good place to babysit your Guild's younger levels
3) Rejesium Ore – take the Monocle to Mentrax Mountainbone, inside the fort, at the bottom of it, to get the Ore
4) Ball of Everliving Golem – Plane of Fear, off of Fright, Terror, or Dread; these are Cazic's temple guardians
5) Finely Crafted Dragonhead Hilt – Take the Hilt, Ore, and Ball back to Wenden and he'll make your NEXT hilt
Part Three, Spending Money
1) Keg of Vox Ale – buy this from the Freeport Port Authority
2) Block of Permafrost – drops off Ice Giants in Perma – May require Ice Giant Diplomat in the Keep itself
3) Heart of Frost – drops off the annoying Goblins in Perma who mess with you while you wait for the Ice Giants to spawn (you need it later, but not now; loot it anyway)
4) Rebreathers – you need two; either learn to tinker yourself, make friends with a tinkerer, or buy them; rumour has it they cost between 2500 and 3500 platinum.
5) Ancient Sword Blade – Take the Ale, the Block, and the Rebreathers to Denken Strongpick at his island in the Ocean of Tears on Aviak Island, and he'll make your blade.
Part Four, Royal Pain
Ancient Blade – Queen in Chardok. She's a deep-dungeon monster surrounded by an honour guard of ... you name it, it's in there. This DOES take three groups, minimum. Start talking nice to all the 49+ clerics you know... yer gonna need 'em. She can't be single-pulled, nor can her guards. This is a matter of "rush the room and pray LOUD."
Part Five (This is where it starts getting rough)
1) Sealed note – Go to East Freeport and hail Kargek Redblade; tell him you'll do him a favour and he'll give you the note
2) Tiny Lute – Take the note to Feerrott, to the ogre named Oknoggin Stonesmasher, who will give you the Lute
3) Book – Take the Lute back to Kargek and he'll give you a Book.
4) Totem of Fiery War – Take the Book to Tenel Redblade in East Karana, who hangs out somewhere near the end of that canyon that leads to High Pass Hold. Hand him the Book; he gives you a Frozen War Totem. Give him BACK the Totem plus the Heart of Frost from Part Three and he'll give you the Totem of Fiery War.
5) Red Scale – No surprise here, it comes off dragons ... Nagafen in Sol B; Nortlav Scalekeeper in The Hole; Ragefire or Talendar in Skyfire. Nortlav is actually NOT a dragon, just a pissy Shadow Knight. He's a deep-dungeon monster, BUT there's no level restriction to fighting him.
6) Green Scale – Also a dragon scale. (You were hoping Sany would say Iksar shed these, weren't you?) Severilous in Emerald Jungle or Hoshkar in Veeshan's Peak drop the Green Scale.
7) Mark of the Sword – Take the Totem, the Red Scale, and the Green Scale, and go back to Tenel Redblade. Give this stuff to him and he'll give you the Mark of the Sword.
8) Hand of Maestro – Hate Plane; kill Maestro, kill his secondary spawn, kill the tertiary spawn, and the Hand comes off that thing
9) Take the Hand back to Tenel and he'll give you a Message (or a note; not sure what) to take back to Kargek in Freeport
10) Spiroc Wingblade – Spiroc Lord, Plane of Air. Yes, it takes three groups. He's level 65 or thereabouts; and he Death Touches about every 30 seconds.
Well, Warrior, you've shown your courage, and your stubbornness. Take a deep breath, and take the Message and the Wingblade back to Freeport, to Kargek Redblade...
.... and he will give you.... The Red Scabbard (Blades of Strategy and Tactics, Jagged Blade of WarThe Red Scabbard. This magical scabbard is the key to your weapons and their combat and stat boosts.
Place the Hilts and the Blades into the Red Scabbard. Combine them to get the Blades of Strategy and Tactics, or the Jagged Blade of War. And congratulations, Warrior – You have your Epic Blades!
