ROCKS THAT BLEED
The next day finally came. Sunlight is pouring down from the window. Birds can be heard chirping happily on tree branches.
Leon woke up when the sunlight hit his face. He remembered the wonderful "activity" that he and his brother did last night. He stretched out his arm to reach out to his aniki but he couldn't feel his aniki anywhere. With a defeated sigh, he decided to sit up from lying down. He noticed there were no such evidence of what happened last night. Iason must have cleaned and dressed him while he was sleeping. Still feeling a bit lazy, he just sat on the bed, cross-legged. Then he sensed something in the room and remembered the "chores" he sent out to his servants.
"Show yourselves, Shadow Servants." He commanded.
Three phantoms lined themselves, kneeled and heads bowed, infront of Leon.
"What have you gathered?" Leon asked the first phantom in the line.
The phantom pulled out a sword from inside of him and presented it to his master.
"What's this?" Leon picked up the sword and inspected it carefully.
Leon's eyes widened in recognition. With a snap of his fingers, a large, thick book appeared and its pages flew until it stopped at the desired page.
"The Crimson Blade. It absorbs the blood of who or whatever it kills, which explains its color...And it's also rumored to also absorb the souls of the one it slew...A powerful blade but has no elemental attributes... Perhaps it will interest aniki. I will give it to him later... You may leave. Wait for my next command."
The first phantom disappeared, probably to where it belongs. Then, Leon hid the sword and the book to where he can summon it whenever he pleases.
The second phantom stepped closer. It molded itself into a large window and images can be seen.
"That...that is..." When the image became clearer and closer, he saw what he expected.
"The Glacial Blade! The blade that is rumored to be used by the slain Frigid Damsel! A powerful Ice elemental blade! It is said that one can be able to control ice with it! Tell me, where is it hidden?"
The image changed and showed a large building.
"A Museum? I must have it! Wait a minute! Why didn't you just stole the blade?" he eyed the servant viciously.
The image changed back again into the image of the blade. Leon inspected the picture in front of him carefully. Then, his aniki came in through the door.
"You're finally awake! I thought you're already dead or something!" Iason noticed the servants. "What are they doing here? And...what are you staring at?" he seated himself beside Leon.
"I was wondering..." Leon stopped staring at the image, "...why my servant wasn't able to get that VERY nice sword over there." He pointed at the image at the servant.
Iason leaned and looked closely at the image. "Maybe..." he straightened and put his a finger on his chin, "...the lights scared it off."
"The lights?" Leon thought deeply, "Yes, maybe... The light at this new era is VERY bright compared to lamps and candles we used. I have to get it myself then. Maybe tonight or the other nights. Begone, servant!"
With a wave of Leon's hand, the second Phantom disappeared to where it came from.
The last phantom molded itself into a large oval mirror. Images of two persons can be seen through it. A tall one having brown hair and purple eyes and the other shorter one, also having brown hair but green eyes. They were in the location where they were sealed and seems to be investigating.
Leon squinted his eyes and looked closely at the two figures that are now talking, "Who do you..."
He turned silent when his aniki, who is looking intently at the image, raised his hand as a sign to be silent and not to disturb him.
'He must be trying to read their lips.' Leon thought. 'Shadow Servants could only show images. They could only hear their environment and my voice...not even my brother's.'
When Iason finally dropped his hand, Leon asked eagerly his questions, "Who are they aniki? Why were they there?"
"All I know is that, that one," Iason pointed a finger at the tall one, "is called Tsuzuki by," this time he pointed at the shorter one, "the one called Hisoka. This...Tsuzuki seems to know about us...He called us by our name. He also seem to know about Muraki."
"Should we ask him then? I can...get something from him." Leon said, his tone suggestive.
"But before that," Iason stood up and hauled Leon out of the bed. "you have to eat something. I've tried the one they called 'pancakes' and it's very delicious."
Without even listening to Leon's protests he continued on dragging him to the dining room, leaving the servant in the room.

"Where are they. Oriya?" Muraki asked his best friend as he entered the dining room.
"Iason was here and already eaten something, then he left to fetch his brother in their room."
"Good. As planned, I will watch Leon and you will watch Iason until the right time comes...to get their powers."
Both were silent, and Oriya decided to ask Muraki, "Muraki...Are you...sure about this?"
"What do you mean, Oriya?" Muraki looked at his best friend questioningly.
Oriya went silent for a moment, thinking, and spoke again, "They were...ARE really powerful socerers. Don't you think it is a bit...dangerous going after their power? How can you be so sure they will let you have it?"
"They don't have to know about that little detail, Oriya."
"I know, but according to what I have heard about them, they were ruthless..."
"That's because they're powerful." Muraki cut in.
"...That's what I'm worried about. They won't hesitate to kill us."
"They haven't, haven't they?" Muraki getting irritated, crossed his arms over his chest. "They were also samurais beside being sorcerers. I have released them from their seal, so they owe me their freedom. They wouldn't kill the one who freed them. I told them you're a friend of mine so they won't hurt you too."
Again, both of them became silent. Oriya is thinking of what Muraki said while Muraki just stood and felt that he won the conversation.
After a few more minutes of silence, someone's loud complaining voice could be heard outside the room. It came closer and closer until finally the two brothers emerged from the door...floating?
"Aniki, put me down!" Leon complained to his older brother who made him float against his will. He was waving his arm and legs trying to float upright since he's been floating in a lying position.
"You said you don't like being dragged so...there!" Iason answered Leon, shrugging his shoulders.
The two best friends sighed, shaking their heads. The day is not complete without those two getting into a fight. |
