Re: Summer Reading
Attached, please find the complete summer reading list for Thomaston High School students entering all grades (7-12) for the upcoming 2006-2007 school year. Please locate your grade and section to ascertain which novel(s) applies to your particular class. All reading assignments must be completed upon the commencement of school in September 2006. Many of the novels can be found at local libraries and / or purchased at bookstores such as Barnes & Noble. Copies of this summer reading list are also available at the Thomaston Public Library and the Thomaston High School main office.
Upon entering school in September, students will be responsible for having a knowledge and understanding of the required novels, as they will be utilized in class discussions / lessons during the first week(s) of school. These novels may appear on tests and may be referenced in written assignments early in the year. In turn, it is vital that students read all assignments carefully in order to maximize their ability to speak and to respond to the concepts found in each novel.
Remember, reading is the foundation of all knowledge. Thank you for your involvement in this process, and have a wonderful summer!
