Asian quake
2nd Christmasday 2004 the world was shocked by the South East Asian quake which was a disaster for the Banda Aceh region - Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India and other countries and so many small islands/regions, which aid in the beginning couldn't reach them.In the Santana Cafe some fans had left their messages about the Tsunami, this natural disaster. Like in the rest of the world, the Netherlands start their money raising since 2nd Christmasday till today (5-01-2005), the amount of the fund raising is now about 54 million euros! And there's more to come with national tv and radio-campaignes and local money-raising. So if you want to help the victims from the Asian quake in South East Asia

On the 22th of August 2004, the program Trafic Musique at TV5,France started their program with short interviews with many famous artists,to begin with Yannick Noah and then Carlos Santana, John McLaughlin, Claude Nobs(director from the Montreux Festival) followed by Angelique Kidjo - Nile Rodgers, Ricky Lee Jones and others.Carlos and John jamming a few minutes together, Angelique and Nile were improvising also with Talvin Singh, Ricky Lee Jones played on her guitar, Yannick Noah did his song too. And after every interview they showed some minutes from the artist in performance or short fragments from their earlier shows. The rehearsel and the shows in Montreux from Carlos and the Band together with many giant musicians like Chick Corea, Herbie Hankock,Wayne Shorter, Ravi Coltrane, John McLaughlin, Buddy Guy had been shown more than a few minutes. It must be quite a show in Montreux, I must say!!! The program lasted from 22h35 till 00h40

The most prestigious festival in Europe "NorthSeaJazz Festival", the 29th edition in the Hague. On friday afternoon,the 9th of July, santanafans and jazzlovers joined together for Santana in concert. Carlos and the Band showed a tight schedule with beautiful songs and new ones too, like Spread Love... Mingled with the jazzlovers, who primairily come for the jazz, but also swing with the santanafans. Unfortunately it did not last that long, the concert started from 18h 30 till round 20h 00. On the NorthSeaJazz output, people at home, who can't get tickets anymore can follow some fragments on the internet and in the friday evening news, they also broadcasted on dutch television a few minutes fr the Santana concert. And late in the evening, more fragments can be seen in the television program nps-jazz . You also can check at photogallery some photos from the NSJ -concert.

July 9, 10 and 11, there are the North Sea Jazz, but coming:
- June 24 and July 1, 2004, we can be ahead in NPS Jazz, station Nederland 3. From a number of artists old performances during North Sea Jazz and past clips will be broadcasted .There are fragments among other things from Dave Brubeck, Santana and Patti Labelle.
- Also you can take a look backstage at Santana, Macy Gray, B.B. King, The Roots, George Clinton, Al Green and other artists in the movie "All access" in Omniversum The Hague. From July 7 till September 4-2004, wednesday till saterday at 20.00 h. Visitors fr the North Sea Jazz Festival get 25% reduced price by showing their admission tickets.

We are the future
At � 00.45, 22th of May - Saterdaynight, MTV-nl broadcasted Carlos performance in the "We are the future" concert in Rome (Italy), which was again fabulous with Fher Olver from Man� the songs ~ Corazon espinado and Oye como va ~ sound really good !!! This show in Rome with many famous artists forms a start of the worldwide campaigne; it is an initiative of the American producer Quincy Jones. Almost twenty years ago he also was the producer of " We are the world " project. The turnovers of the concert go to children in war areas.

"Hymns"
About 10 months after releasing the cd Shaman, Carlos has almost completed his next album "Hymns". This album will be a collection of instrumental hymns( with influences fr Eric Johnson and Stevie Vai). Carlos hoped to release "Hymns" at the end of the year 2003 or beginning of the year 2004

Shows canceled
The Santana Band canceled the shows (because of the SARS epidemic) scheduled for April 2003 in Singapore, Honkong and Japan. The shows originally scheduled for Japan in April will now be played in November 2003.

Single "Nothing at all"
From March 31 till April 7, the single "Nothing at all" becomes MTV(nl)-Fresh (new clip-topper). The clip will be broadcast frequently this week.
Show canceled
Because of the SARS epidemic in the region of Honkong, Japan, Santana canceled their show. But on April 7 they will be playing in Osaka.
