SHOULD NON-PERMANENT RESIDENTS IN SOUTH AFRICA BE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY IN THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL SCRABBLE® CHAMPIONSHIPS?
A referendum question asked to all SANSPA members. They had one month to respond to the question, the deadline being 1 December 2000. The results were ratified and checked by Steven Gruzd, SANSPA Chairperson, and published on 11 December 2000.
A two-thirds majority voted in favour of including these players. Hereunder the breakdown of the votes by club and province.
