| Dear Young and yearning, Well, whenever I went on a diet in the past, the first few days I saw a lot of weight lost, then about 10 days later, it looked like I stopped losing. Then, I became discouraged and felt like Okay, I'm never going to lose weight, so, I might as well forget it. and I am starving anyway. I want to eat! Then I'd feel guilty and start all over again next month or next year and still get stalled. Weighing in, can be misleading. Sure I lost weight in the beginning from diets, that was all the water I soaked up from sodium in foods, from sitting around, and from overeating. Practicing wellness means eating a little bit less, moving a little bit more, building a few muscles (which weigh more than the fat lost), making better food choices, feeling satisfied and happy, developing my mind - all a little bit at a time, continuously a little more each day, achieving attainable goals. I will measure my success instead of by weighing in, by how I feel, how my clothes fit, how I look, and by using a tape measure around all the troublesome spots, i.e. hips, thighs, waist, chest, and upper arms Now practicing wellness, I know that my whole being needs to feel good in order to enjoy my life. | In the past year, by practicing wellness, Rick lost 35 pounds (men can loose faster, they have more muscles working on burning fat). He is unbelievably energetic, younger, and more potent than ever. I lost 25 pounds, and all those stupid rollercoaster hormones, and I can walk around again without terrible back and hip pain which crippled me last year. |
