Gardens of Glass

By Sansenmage

When gardens of glass grazed the lip of the sky-

Sipping in one thousand colors of the prismatic eye-

While the heavens blossomed violet petals.

The shroud or green was unfurled from the body-

With the mechanical breath of cement and metal-

When gardens of glass grazed the lip of the sky.

Stars shined crimson, peach, and gold in serenity-

Experiencing nirvana in their natural ecstasy-

While the heavens blossomed violet petals.

But the dry desert wind whirled into the stone city-

Weathering and rusting iron before the Age of Steel-

When gardens of glass grazed the lip of the sky.

The Moon opened her mouth to stop this monstrosity-

But the tide could not erode the persistent weed-

While the heavens blossomed violet petals.

The Elements could not exterminate the progress of ants-

As verdant flora disintegrated into sand-

When gardens of glass grazed the lip of the sky-

While the heavens blossomed violet petals.
