About Me and My Dogs
My Dachshunds are my favorite breed. I have several as family pets as well as the ones in the kennel. Most of our dogs were purchased or raised by us from puppies. Our doxies are very freindly and affectionate dogs. I have trained some to sit, fetch and to be happy go lucky playful dogs. We have all of the most popular colors such as red, black and tan, chocolate and tan. We also raise dapples and piebalds. We have smooth hair and long hair in solid and dapple colors. Contrary to popular belief the long haired doxies do not require any extra grooming and do not shed any more than the short haired.
Our next breed is the Cairn Terrier, better known as "ToTo and Benji" dogs. They are more active and playful dogs. Also affectionate but prefer to run and play first then cuddle and rest in your lap. Our color include the most common wheaten, red brindle and gray brindle. We have had some beautiful babies this year and are very proud of them. This breed is also know as a non-shedding dog and if you comb them out at shedding season you will have very little hair shedding. They do not require any extra grooming either, despite their hair length and thick coats.
Our next breed is our Basset Hound. Though we only have three they are great dogs. A bit larger than the lap dogs, but are still good family pets as they are very lovable and dedicated dogs. They may need a little more living space, but when trained properly make great house pets. This short hair breed will shed more than most, so will require a bit more grooming as a house dog. But those big floppy ears and bright sad looking eyes will win your heart. We have the tri-colors and lemon and white.
We resently began breeding Italian Greyhounds. We have not had any babies yet but are hoping by the first of year to have a litter. These dogs are so sleek and graceful. Most people think they are to hyper and nervous but when handled and trained correctly are very sweet and easy to love. They do not shed which makes them great house dogs also. Their size also makes them suitable for apartment living. I love to watch them exercise and run thru the yard, they are as graceful as a baby deer and just as beautiful.
