Roly-Poly

Roly was a Ginger Tabby cat without a home, his owners had moved and for what ever reason Roly had found himself left behind! With no-one to love and look after him he spent about a year roaming the area where he had lived and finding food where and when he could. One day Two Boys saw him and befriended him, he followed them to their home at the other end of the village where my Mum lived,
but were unable to adopt him. He stayed around this area though probably so thankful for some affection!

Shortly after my Dad had passed away, My Mum also lost her Cat Tigger, who died of old age. He was much loved and adored by my Mum and both losses left her feeling very sad and lonely. After Dads death Tigger had remained a constant reason for her to function and try to live normally, and so he became everything to her, his death hit her very hard and we were worried about her.

Over several days my Mum saw a Ginger Tabby Cat wandering around the close where she lives. A neighbour complained about it trying to rumage through her Rubbish Bin and they wondered who it belonged to and where it lived. It didn't seem to have a home but nobody was really sure. It was found searching in Rubbish Bags several more times and Mum realised he must be hungry and left some food for it.

This went on for several months, and the Ginger Cat soon became a regular feature around Mums home and it seemed obvious he (we assumed it was a he) was homeless. They became friends and although he wouldn't come into the house al through the Summer he spent ever day in her Garden while Mum sat in it or worked on the Flower Beds. During that Summer I went to visit and stayed for a couple of weeks. It was obvious this big chubby cat was very much at home and established with my Mum. He has a lovely nature, and seems so grateful to be loved! We named him Roly because he's Roly-Poly and bought him a Bed and new food Bowls. A Cat Flap was fitted in the Back door and he soon became used to coming indoors and being with us, where ever we went he went!

He now lives with Mum and has put on a lot of weight! he is spoilt and loved and seems very happy to have found such a lovely home. Mum adopted Roly, but Roly also very much adopted my Mum! lol He came along just when she most needed him and I often wonder if Tigger had sent him, knowing how much they needed each other! :0)
