This handsome group of men had a very interesting story, they were cousins and then they became step brothers. It started with the 2nd marriage of Sarah N. (Alexander) Spry,to Matthew L. Ward. The two families show up on the 1880 Stephens Cty Tx census as a next door neighbors. Sarah and her 1st husband Chevin Spry, and Sarah's sister Melvina and her husband Matthew L. Ward.
After the 1880 census both Chevin and Melvina have died, and Matthew and Sarah are married. The Wards, Sprys, and Wesley Tabor a stepson from Matthew's 3rd wife Amanda (Scroggins) Tabor are all living together on the 1900 Parker Cty Tx, census.
