What's happening at Manchester?

Weather

Jan:

Sunny on many days but extremely cold, freezing, chilly. Anyway, it's exciting to see the Uncle Sun in the daytime. ^0^

Shopping

(Big) Sale everywhere, on every kind of items like clothing, food, books, etc. Sometimes it's difficult to resist the temptation of buying things at a lower price.

Food

In fact different kinds of food are available at any time but it's just that I haven't tried some of them until lately, such as all-day breakfast (a typical British breakfast including bacon, egg, baked beans and toasts) and Indian food (loads of restaurants of the same kind are found in the same district nicknamed "Curry Mile"). Cappaucino, which I never had a sip in HK, has become one of my regular drinks.

Wardrobe - must-be items in the wardrobe

1) Jeans jacket - an all-year-round fashion

2) scarf - for beauty but also for warmth

3) hat - to protect you from a windy & chily weather

4) gloves - your hands without them will be frozen in a few minutes after you are exposed to the open air.

5) waist-length overcoat - ready to be put off in the indoors.

6) party dresses (for girls) -

- a must-buy shining item if you're a party-goer;

- prices range from a few quids (esp. after X'mas sale) to several hundred pounds if you can afford;

- the less cloth it has, with a large V-shape (in front & on the back), the more attention you may draw in a party. (Whether you are fat or slim, tall or short)

- accompanied with different kinds of accessories like necklaces, bracelets, make-up and a pair of high-heeled shoes.

7) boots - necessary if you are raring to show your good-shaped legs by wearing a skirt in winter.

8) shorts & short-sleeve tops - it's much warmer inside a room with central heating.
