| 3rd April, 01 (Tue) | A trip to Oxford |
A trip to Oxford, the city of a UK top university... (coming soon) Take a look at its photo taken by me first.
| 4th - 7th April, 01 (Wed - Sat) | A trip to Dublin |
I was in Dublin, where there was an unpleasant experience with continuous rain... (coming soon)
| 13th April, 01 (Good or Black Friday?) | A mysterious flatmate |
What would you think someone living next to you has been doing when he/she suddenly disappears for a long time? Gone travelling? Learnt to be invisible? Or more horribly, got killed?
Remember I've mentioned in my diary (the one on 18th Feb, 01) that one of my flatmates vanished from our flat since February? She came back finally but this was for moving out. In fact I didn't see her but just heard some noises today. I was later told by my flatmates that she came back to get back all her stuff. Gossip was inevitable and it was believed that she was pregnant and thus withdrew from her masters course.
| 15th April, 01 (Sun) | A festival formula |
A simple formula:
Easter = Christmas = public holiday = no shopping = (no food + a good exercise of walking to and from the city centre)(eating + staying at home) = either 'loss of weight' or 'weight increase'. Good luck!
| 17th April, 01 (Tue) | Spring sale |
There are several dates people (especially girls and women) have to remember if they want to do some shopping for clothes. Mid-April is one of them. Spring sale has just started. Price tags of two, three, five or ten pounds could be found in most of the shops. A ten-pound leather jacket made in China was not difficult to find.
| 3rd (Tue) & 18th (Wed) April, 01 | Poor Manutd! |
These were the days when a Manchester United fans got disappointed at the team's performance and to no one's surprise, it was the talking point in the media and guesses have been made as to which player would be sold out and which would be brought in.
| 20th April, 01 (Fri) | New flatmate |
The old one has gone and the new one has come in. What I am talking about is we've got a new flatmate from German who moves into the room which was previously lived by that mysterious girl. It is likely that she'll be the last one who will move in as the flat is now fully occupied and there is no sign of anyone moving out until the summer holiday.
| 22nd April, 01 (Sun) | A hard and chilly working day |
What is standing in the cold the whole day long like? Well, I can tell you that could be one of the most unforgettable days in your life. At least for me, it is.
It was the first time I worked here, though just for one day. My main task was to count the number of passengers on and off the tram at one station. It was not any complicated job. But the most difficult part was to withstand the cold in such freezing, rainy weather from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Boredom was not a problem at all since I was frozen to such an extent that I thought of nothing but warmth and did nothing but trembling. I kept eating chocolate and taking trams to and from the city centre whenever it was my turn to take a one-hour break from my partner. One hour went, and then another
The weather of the following days became much warmer and sunnier. How 'lucky' I was!
| 23rd April, 01 (Mon) - 11th May, 01 (Fri) | Countdown of my schooldays? |
So, the Easter holiday has ended and the school began again. Streets were crowded with cars and people. It was the last three weeks of classes this academic year and it was also the beginning of my skipping classes (I'm not a good student???). There was less than one and half a month to go before the deadline for our essays. Everyone was busy doing their assignments and preparing the exams. My flatmates and I woke up very early these days. Nothing but school is worth mentioning.
The weather was extremely good but we had little chance of enjoying the sunshine as we have been struggling with the essays. Students liked to sit on the grass around the campus to do their revision or chatting or have their meals. This is the main difference from HK, where people would rather go indoor to enjoy air-conditioning...
