Update - August 2007

I have been to British English.  It is directly across from the main entrance to the Carousel, beside the former Interlang - now ET.  I can say that the school has been around for about 30 years in various locations and presently has 5 branches.  The school uses New Headway and pays an hourly wage that begins at least 4 YTL an hour more than ET.   In addition they also offer housing allowance and other perks like work permits and residency permits.  It is definitely worth taking a look into if you are in the market.

SO go figure.  I've been on Dave's ESL Cafe for years now.  I lived and worked in Istanbul for 2 years.  And I didn't know about British English...  Maybe it's changed names.  Maybe it's the place I'm thinking about that's en route to the Hilton (went there for a trade show).  Anyhow, it appears as though this is a language school in Istanbul and should be included in my directory.  Apologies.
Ok, I've redeemed myself.  It is in the location that I thought it was; it is en route to the Hilton (tells you what kind of neighbourhood it's in). Now to get more information, comments, etc. etc.  No easily found website but I'll keep looking.

This is what I remember:  Took a bus to the other end of Istanbul, i.e. a much more upscale neighbourhood than I ever lived in, with a new teacher looking for a job.  We walked up some stairs to an older type building in Sisli. It was well-kept and we were met by a DOS who was pleasant and helpful.  The youngish, pretty teacher looking for work was hired on the spot (no brainer there).  And I never heard from her again...
