Update - I was speaking with someone 'on the inside' about this school. The pay is actually pretty good and, as it stands presently, starts at about 10 YTL more an hour than ET. So it is roughly 25 YTL an hour. The school is only open from 9-6 so you won't get any evening hours at all. It doesn't sound like that bad a deal, and I thought the program coordinator was very youthful and excited. I am still wary about working anywhere on the wage system, as I feel I have more protection on a salary. Give it a go if you are in the area. It is Callan, but apparently that also means no prep work. - ed
This school is located near the square in Bakirkoy - near the cemetary if you know the area. It is a 'Callan' school. I spoke with the director who was very positive and friendly but would not devulge any salary information - but who did ask me if I were interested... I have heard both good and bad things about The Callan Method. From a teaching perspective I think I would be bored to tears. It may be okay for you. I list this school here because it may very well be an excellent school. It is just good to know that there are lots of different types of places out there.
