Teacher Experiences and Opinions of ILM
ILM is located in Bakirkoy, right off the main drag (what I call the pedestrian walk way leading to the sea).  The location is great.  I know from personal experience that yes, students great, management, not so much.   Read other teacher ops below.
"I started working at ILM and I can't say it was the best of experiences - a DOS who didn't know the first thing about teaching and management who conveniantly misunderstand the definition of honesty.  Resources were, at the time, very limited and it was up to the teachers to create what they could.  ILM - if you don't like it you can always move on."

"I'd rather not call it being ripped off.  That's when you give money in faith and find out you should have paid less.  I prefer to call it theft.  And I am a member of the club, thanks to my old school.  I won't mention that it's called ILM though."

"Or even the owner of ILM (up to some business hijinks - ed), whose real name I've forgotten, but who was given the nickname "joey the Clown""  (His name is Osman - ed)

In Response to what the best language schools in Istanbul were, one poster put ILM in tie in 4th place with ET.

" (The owner" offered me $800  for 28 hours a week which is not at all good.  Of course I didn't enter into any negotiations as I had no need of a job so I'm not sure if that is their standard offer - more likely he was just likely  hoping to exploit the fact that I was straight off the plane but even that gives you some insight  into his personality.  He didn't seem trustworthy to me. He didn't ask any questions about work permits, qualifications, or experience, another indication of his key interests..."

"Is the Istanbul Language Centre the same as ILM (ed - yes)? If so I worked there a  few years ago now and it was reasonably okay and we were pretty much left to our own devices. Of course the owner was corrupt,  but aren't most of them in Istanbul?"

"I would rate ILM above Interlang for the experienced teacher.  The pay package is better.  ILM pegged every three months, ( months at Interlang) and ILM offered free accommodations..
