| "Fund raising Ideas, anyone?" |
| What do you do when you really want to attend a worthwhile conference ... but just can't afford it? For many people and families affected by Moebius, this is a very critical concern.... |
(May 29, 2000) (editor's note: the following is from a mom - Michelle Rogers - [email protected] - who is interested in raising money in order to attend the upcoming conference...is there anyone "out there" willing to take on her suggestion?) "...One of the ideas I came up with was doing a fund raiser. For example, selling Krispy Kreme donuts. Everybody loves donuts. I have not implemented the idea yet so I don't know how well the fund raiser would work. I know this will not pay for all of the expenses but at least it would help. I had a message from someone suggesting that I ask my church. I know my church would love to help me with the funds, but I just don't want to ask them for funds to go to a conference meeting. I may need their help on a medical need in the near future. Plus, not everyone in the US belongs to a church. So, there needs to be more suggestion and ideas for parents that can't afford to attend. Need to keep in mind that it's very hard for people to ask for help, especially money. So, if there were a list of ideas for parents to look over maybe they would implement some of them and be able to attend the conference if not this year, next year. |
