       The Stories We Tell
by  Sandy Hinton
I have been blessed with the opportunity to publish a book of poetry and experiences. Our experiences make us who we are. Every experience leaves a finger print on us and what we need to do is share these experiences with others. This is my outlet. I have shared with you some of my poetry and the incidents that surrounded them. They are some are sad and sort of tragic but some are fun and heartwarming.
Everybody has a voice
Everybody has a story to tell
It's what you do with the stories you tell
           Hot Steel Gone Cold

Sometimes I forget it's even there
I forget the reason my legs don't work
I just know they don't
HOT STEEL GONE COLD

I see it sometimes on the x-rays sitting there
It don't know the damage it's caused
It don't know the pain it put me through
It don't know nothing
HOT STEEL GONE COLD

It's a part of me now
I live with everything it did
I have a scar on my chest where it touched my skin
Holes in my chest where it glided
Finally resting after nerves it cauterized
HOT STEEL GONE COLD

Like an angry word that is said
You can't take it back
Can't take back the minute
Can't take back the second
Can't get back my life
HOT STEEL GONE COLD
