It has been a difficult year for me - medical issues and life experience has gotten me into deep depression, and I've missed much work over the past several months. Now I find that my finances have placed my family and I in need of new residence. It would not be the first time I've been homeless, but if it can be avoided - well, you know how that goes. Additionally, and to make things worse, my 15-year-old car recently had a major breakdown requiring major repair expenses that I simply cannot afford.
Who is my family? It all starts with me, the single mom of a 17-year-old boy, soon to be 18, Clarke. Dad has never really been very involved - his loss more than ours. He isn't living at home due to major issues between the two of us - but there is still child support that I must pay to cover his housing expenses. Then there are the four quadraped children - my cats: Angel and Cookie (who is diabetic and requires daily insulin injections), the brother and sister pair; Gabby, the daughter; and Gandalf, the elderly adopted grandfather of the bunch - he is 14 years old and disabled, with only 3-1/2 legs, arthritic, and crankier than any old guys I've known. They all make life so much more bearable.
Why have I created this site? Well, I am looking for any financial assistance you can provide. No - I'm not looking for you to pay my credit card bills - I don't have any of those (fortunately). And I'm not asking for money to supplement some lazy lifestyle - if that were the case, I'd say give that money elsewhere. What I am asking is that you take mercy on me and my extended family and and donate for my cause. What is needed is funding for rent and deposit for a new apartment and for car repairs, as well as assistance with basic living expenses for the big and little children. Anything you give would be greatly appreciated. Once I have gotten on my feet, it would be my intention to donate any additional proceeds to my local charities or any others who are in need - I firmly believe in the "pass it forward" concept.
Before you say no - THINK ABOUT IT... You are going to spend your money on Christmas gifts anyway... Why not spare a few dollars for a good cause? Instead of spending good money on things that some won't appreciate anyway, why not try giving where it will make a real difference in someone's life with proper Christian benevolence??

Update (as of 2/14/03)... I currently have enough $ saved up for a new apartment (after much help from all - I can't thank you enough!)... However, my cats are currently being boarded and I could use the help with offsetting those costs... Please think about this in future weeks!
