THE PLACE

Sandy Bay is located on the Eastern Coast of the Coromandel Peninsula of the North Island of New Zealand. It rests in the shadow of the Moehau, the highest peak on the Coromandel. It is a white sand beach with a bay that is sheltered from everything but the worst of weather conditions.

Sandy Bay is a quiet, mainly uninhabited place throughout most of the year, but around the Xmas and new year period is when it really comes alive. The baches along the beach are full and the beach is alive with people and boats. This too, is when the Martin and Brockliss families and friends have made their annual pilgrimage to this little piece of paradise.
