All of the big names have been to Sandy Bay, such as Jim Beam, Johnny Walker, and Jack Daniels....and none have ever left. Coruba rum has always been a favourite, as has, of course, beers such as Lion Red, Export Gold, and lately Speights. Part of what summer is all about is relaxing in the sun downing a few, and seeing as Sandy Bay is the pinnacle of what summer is all about, there have been a few downed there!!

The booze is part of the social environment that Sandy Bay creates. It is not a problem as it is in Auckland, there are never problems with people drinking here, everyone is focused on having a good time, not starting fights or causing problems. About as fierce as it gets is at the Mexi table where drinking rules can get strict, but that is part of the game.
