ADDING A MESSAGE TO A WEB PAGE YOU ARE SENDING:
After putting their addy in the pop up window, you can write a message next to the addy.Be sure and put a comma after the addy though.
EMAILING A GROUP OF PEOPLE:
If you always send stuff to the same group of people, here is a quicker way to get their email addys on the page, without having to click on everyones name: Go to your email addy book, and choose add. Make a name with an *at the beginning, so it will be at the top of the list. In the address part, type in all of the addy's that you email alot. Be sure to put coma's after each addy. Now all you have to do is click on it and send a whole group of people something.
EMAILS:
Ever wanted to know how many emails you have had since you got your terminal? Try this- Go to mail screen, put cursor over a message you have received, and hit cmd+ctrl. the # of messages will be in the status bar.
WEBTV EMAIL ADDY:
Did you know you don't have to put the whole addy to whom you are sending? Just type their user name. EX: instead of typing ([email protected]) you only need to type (username).
EMBED WEB PAGE IN EMAIL:
Use this code in your sig box, to embed a webpage in the email you send:
POP UP SELECT BOX:
Any time you are in one of these that ask for example what state you live in, all you have to do is push the letter on your keyboard that your state begins with. Then you dont have to scroll all the way down.
QUICK WAY OF DELETING A WHOLE BUNCH OF TEXT:
Use your find button to find the first word of the text you want erased, hold down the shift key, and use your arrow buttons to highlight all the text, then push delete. If you wanted to delete everything on the page, then use cmd+A to highlight it all, then push "delete".
BOUNCING E-MAIL:
While looking at the email you want the codes for,
hit "forward" on the sidebar. (If you are viewing a
post, hit "send/forward").
Go down to the "To" line, and enter your email
addy.
Go down to where you would write a message, and hit
return, 2 times.
hold down alt+z buttons.
press cmd+a
then cmd+x
Go back up to the subject and press cmd+v.
Send mssg. It will come back with all the
codes.
SEND MAIL WHEN WTV DOES MAINTENANCE:
Hit "goto", erase the http://, type in mailto:put addy here. and you will go to write a message!
GOTO BOX:
When typing in an addy you would like to go to, did you know you dont have to type in www. and .com? Just leave them out if you like.
Do these with your terminal
off.

Push your options
button 3 times, then enter the number code. The
lights on the terminal will flash.

upgrades.

90210- The WebTV tour.
77437- Obscure dialing options.
7264- Dial toll free.
1776- Clears all isp info.

031158- Enables the new demo.
When we got this last big upgrade,
those of us who already had something programmed on
our F-7 key, did not loose it. We were told that if
we tried to replace what we already had on that key
with something new, that we would loose it. I figured
out how not to loose it. Although I am sure someone
else has figured this out by now also.
Go ahead and save the page in faves.
Then go to
the folder where you saved it.
Choose "organize",
then "shortcuts".
The next step, it will ask
you to choose the button to the right of the page you
want to save. Do that.
You will then be taken to
where you will "choose shortcut label". Choose F-7
and hit "done".
What you are basically doing, is
saving right over what was already there. If you
discard what is on your F key first, then I dare say
you may loose it.
To get an image into your scrapbook, you will need to view the image itself, then all you need to do is hit "goto", type in MIMES/S and you will be taken to a page that will upload the image to the scrapbook.
