Well surprise surprise surprise!!! The Dodge Viper and Camaro are going to be RID2001 spychangers! Well just before these first photos popped up this week on BIGBOT.NET, back on 8/28/01 I wrote a little piece about how these were going to come out!! Man if this little prediction holds water I hope all my other ones do too!
I can't believe some guys on Ebay just paid $100+ apiece for unpainted versions of the Camaro and Viper. Well anyhow, here we have Wave 2 of the Robots In Disguise 2001 spychangers. I am fairly certain that these molds were unused molds from the Generation 2 Transformers 'Go-bots' line. All four of these molds are exclusive to the U.S. RID2001, they did not appear in the Japanese Car Robots 2000 line. It's amusing how the names here work out: The Mini Side Burn is still called Side Burn while the Mini Prowl is called Prowl 2. This is probably due to the fact that both Side Burns are Vipers while the Prowls are different cars. It's also neat to see that a spychanger has been named Sideswipe. Not only is Sideswipe a Generation 1 name but he also appeared in G2 as a Go-bots spychanger. The mold for the G2 Sideswipe was the same as RID2001 R.E.V. (& G2 Firecracker & Optimus Prime).
Looks like my storyline is gonna get a little wonky again.... oh well I havent transcribed any of my fan-fiction to subject you to yet. I'm sure I will have a massive army of spychangers versus Decepticon jets before too long..
