Hello fans, yet another day and again some more pictures. These pictures were taken while I was involved in a chat about RID. It was pointed out to me that the toy clashes with the backgroud and is a little hard to see. I hope to take some more photo's; isolating Build King againset a neutral background and showing the two sides of the import box without any obstructions. I was a little rushed but I'm sure in due time I'll have Build King in all six poses and a two nice shots of the box. Above you may also notice the Japanese Reissue Hot Rod C-78. Both Build King and Hot Rod were gifts from my old girlfriend Caroline whose family lives in Japan. (Aside: Hi Caroline, here's another tip of the hat to you ;) I must say I am rather happy still about these wonderful gifts. I got these for Christmas of 2000 and I have to say it's these toys that really psyched me up about the Robots in Disguise toy line. Build King should be available on US shores sometime before Christmas 2001, although for the moment I don't have his US name. As you can see the combined form of Build King stacks up about as high as Optimus in his G1 tribute form. Still it's a very impressive toy. For those of you already having trouble transforming the RID toys like Side Burn, Prowl, and X-Brawn... these toys are no walk in the park. It took me half an hour to transform Build King from his Robot components.(That may have been due to the fact that I only had a tiny Japanese instruction manual) Never the less this is a way cool toy and I recommend it to all the fans of RID. Build Boy, the bulldozer chest piece, is by far the coolest of the four Robots. His articulation is superb and he is the lynchpin of Build King. The other three Robots could be combined together in any order to Form Build King but without Build Boy, no Build King is happening. (Note: You could use three dump trucks and Build Boy and still get a Build King built) (Editors note 8/13/02: in RID Build Boy is now Wedge & Build King is Landfill). As for Hot Rod... he is one of the earliest reissues by Takara in Japan. Hopefully we will be seeing G1 reissues here in the states. I expect that Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus reissues should be ready for US stores by Christmas. So far the following characters have been reissued in Japan not counting any variant paint schemes: Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Hot Rod, Megatron, Side Swipe, Red Alert, Ratchet, Ironhide, Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Dirge, Thrust, and Ramjet. |
