| Toy Sitings in the Post RID ERA (July 2002+) Not alot of RID toys can be spotted these days. Here in the Armada Era (July 2002 onward) only a few of the figures from the main RID series can be found at major retailers. The following is a helpful list of recent finds. RECENT SITINGS AS OF 4/10/2003 KAY BEE TOYS: Stealth spychangers. $3.99 These little guys have also moved on to Target.... TARGET: Stealth spychangers. $2.99 BIG LOTS (ODD LOTS): Super Car Brothers repaints, Construction build team members, and Storm Jet. $5.99 VALUE CITY DEPARTMENT STORE: Optimus Prime. $24.99 WALMART: Exclusive Urban Camo Ruination boxed set. $24.88 (Shipped in January 2003, sparse sitings since) Keep your eyes peeled for some upcoming RID releases in Armada style packaging. Kay Bee Toys will be getting Scourge and Bludgeon at about $9.99-12.99. These two are repaints of the Generation 2 Hero Optimus and Hero Megatron. Also Toys R Us Japan currently has Dreadwing and Smokejumper in "US Import" style packaging (see pic below). No word as to who will be getting this one, TRU USA doesn't seem to stock as many Transformers as other retailers, so I think Kay Bee might get it. Dreadwing and Smokejumper were first released in Generation 2 as Dreadwing ATB (I don't know if Smokejumper had a name). They also appeared in Beast Wars Neo as Starscrem and BB. (Note this character was not intended to be StarscreAm). They also recently popped up in the mixed Korean Sonokong line with StarscreAm on the package. So three colorations of this pair exist. A certain few of the RID don't seem to show there faces at retail clearence whatsoever. Currently the under distributed Trainbots (Midnight Express, Rapid Run, & Railspike), Towline, Skid Z, Skyfire, Wind Sheer, and Bruticus are some of the most sought after of the line besides the retailer exclusives. Cryotek, Sideways Vs. Axer, and Scourge have been gone for months... about a year for Cryotek. I think that except for the exclusives some of these guys may be popping up in Canada. I have no confirmation on that but alot of the Ebay auctions for the Trainbots et al are coming out of the Great White North. |

| Last Updated 2/22/04 Well looks like I missed updating for about a year. Man I really go for long periods without updating this site. The year 2003 had the release of the second series of stealth spychangers on Armada style cards exclusive to Kaybee, they were released in the summer and are still roaming about. Spring of 2003 had Scourge and Bludgeon released in Armada style cards but those disappeared shortly after their release, look for them in the picture archive. Spring 2003 also saw the release of Dreadwing & Smokejumper as a Target exclusive, but they disappeared even faster than Scourge and Bludgeon. Some RID molds are showing up in the Transformers Universe (TFU) line. Notably summer 2003 had Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Roulette and Shadow Striker appear exclusively at the Botcon. Then Fall 2003 had a repaint of Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus show up at Sam's Club, although I never saw them there. Also the Prowl, X-Brawn, and Sideburn molds have been used in TFU, first with Inferno and Autobot Rachet in wide retail release (late 2003) and as Prowl and Sideburn (currently) as Walmart exclusive releases. Also some of the spychangers were repainted as Generation 1 cars exclusive to Kay Bee (note these are in Unicron Battles Armada style packaging). Optimus Prime & Prowl, and Ultra Magnus & Ironhide spychangers are out at Walmart (TFU cards). Obsidian appears with Mega Tankor in a TFU boxed set. WIDE RELEASE: TFU Inferno (RID Prowl) $9.99, TFU Autobot Rachet (RID X-Brawn) $9.99, TFU Obsidian (with Tankor) $19.99, RID Spychanger Tiny Tins $3.99 each KAY BEE TOYS: Megabolt Emissary, Jhiaxus (Megatron Megabolt and Storm Jet repaints) $12.99 each, Second wave of stealth spychangers $3.99 each , new G1 spychangers $3.99 each. (G1 Spychangers are repaints as follows Optimus Prime=Scrouge, Wheeljack=Daytonus, Jazz=Sideburn, Hoist=X-Brawn, Prowl=Prowl 2, Silverstreak=Side Swipe.) All of these are exclusive to Kay Bee Toys.
