Meet Chili, the man with a dream. Although Chili is probably just a clever nickname don't let it fool you, it's no joke. Hot sauce is to Chili as water is to every living thing. Chili owns and operates, appropriately enough, "Chili's Fire Pit" at 9570 Mentor Avenue in Mentor, Ohio a suburb of Cleveland about 30 minutes east in Lake County. Located in a quiet little plaza across Old Jonnycake Ridge Road from The Lowe's Hardware store, don't let the small size of this location trick you. Chili has literally thousands of bottles of hundreds of varieties of hot sauce ranging from 'sissy' to 'don't even dare'. Not for the faint of heart or anyone with an ulcer this shop is a mecca, haven, and nirvana for self-proclaimed pepperheads. What does this have to do with your humble pagemaster's collecting hobby? Well it may not be toys but Sandman Loganfive considers himself one of the top pepperheads in the area, and he (read:me) collects hot sauce as well as toys. Although I haven't reached the financial stability to be able to afford to store hot sauces away like vintage toys or fine wines, I do take every oppurtunity I get to try a new hot sauce, and I find myself quickly emptying bottles of the Gods gift to the tongue. Chili peppers are normally native to South America but have migrated with the help of pepperheads to the far corners of the earth. Now the far corners of the earth aren't so far away as I can take a trip down the road and walk into this amazing heaven on earth. More to come... but for now feast on these pictures:
Proceed to the pictures of the hot sauces!
Ay Curumba!
