Today, it is one of the most famous zoos in the world.  It houses a variety of species.

The goal of the San Diego Zoo is to prevent extinction.  It has worked toward this goal by breeding many endangered species including the newly born panda.

The Wild Animal Park is much bigger than the zoo and allows the animals to graze in huge open fields.  The fields are designed like their habitat so the animals feel at home.

The Wild Animal Park and San Diego Zoo have worked together to take many creatures off of the Endangered Species List.
