Symantec Corporation( formerly BindView) 2002-2005 ————————————————————————————————————- The technical work at Symantec mainly involved architecture, design and ownership of following products and post release support and level 3 tech support. Technology used was Visual C++ and SQL server for backend
NETinventory is a multi-tiered distributed IT asset management legacy application having multiple servers and agents to gather and collate IT infrastructure data Replaced BTrieve by SQL Server on the main server and by XML data files on the intermediate auditing servers. Server code was revamped balancing performance issues and data integrity. Created MMC Snapin from scratch to incorporate NetInventory into bv-Control product line Provided referential integrity in BTrieve database by doing a periodic sweep of the data.. Released one major and numerous hot fixes and SPs to ensure customer satisfaction. bv-Control for NDS/eDirectory and bv-Control for NetWare Developed detailed functional specifications by studying DirXML and ZENworks in depth and collaborating with customers( US-EPA), vendors (Novell, MySQL) and product management team. Rewrote all the generic classes to accommodate this feature in the current Architecture. Participated in the design of Distributed Process Architecture that involved deployment of intermediate data crawler servers; critical change in architecture to align the product suit with new value proposition of bv-Control suit Released two major releases and multiple hot fixes bv-Control for Microsoft SQL Server Overhauled the SQL architecture to use ADO instead of DMO for accessing meta data. Rewrote access code for most of the datasources in the product to scale it from previous limit of 25 servers to 600 servers. This attracted larger accounts like Sovereign Bank and resulted in increased yearly revenues from US$45K to US$250K bv-Control for CheckPoint Firewall Shipped first release with Global Policy support, CPRA and Log Analysis, this released required major changes in the Architecture. Obtained strategically important OPSEC certification to remain alliance partner with CheckPoint Identified problems with CheckPoint library for log reporting, worked with Microsoft and CheckPoint development teams to isolate and troubleshoot the defect. Acted as beta site for the hotfix provided by CheckPoint
CPlane Inc 2001 ————————————————————————————————————- Designed and implemented generic serialization module based on Serialization pattern, possible formats were XML, Binary and TCL Nortel Networks 1998 –2001 ————————————————————————————————————-- Led the front end development for Optiviy Policy Services (Network Management System) Evaluated LDAP technologies NDS, Active Directory and IPlanet for compliance with IETF requirements and use in the product Designed event notification system for communication between Policy Server and Front end. Provided Java and C++ interfaces for the Notification System Built infrastructure for the validation and transaction engine, developed memory catching for db objects to improve user experience Received CEO’s Top Talent Award for work on this project
Corel Corp 1995-1998 ————————————————————————————————————- Part of the development team for CorelDraw 6.0-9.0. Work involved various front end core engine features developed using C++. Feasibility study of various technologies and vector graphics features to accommodate the Draw Architecture Technical Lead for the Corel Scripting language IDE Used COM and ATL to create an IDE, developed a code editor Program Manager for VBA integration Evaluated different Microsoft partners for VBA integration project. Designed and reviewed Object Models for Draw. Met a tight deadline to successfully implement VBA in all Corel Graphics and Office products

Unisys Inc 1991-1992 ————————————————————————————————————- Designed and developed a normalization algorithm to convert the relational database tables into third normal form using Windows and C++, this module was used in the development of Gupta SQL; now called SQLBase by Unify
