ENTRANCE OF MITS

Madhav Institute Of Technology And Science(MITS),Gwalior,was established in the year 1957.It was the outcome of the interest and efforts of His Highness Late Maharaja Sir Jiwaji Rao Scindia who had taken to give impetus to the cause of Technology Education by giving generous donation to start with.MITS (formerly known as Madhav Engineering College) was first started in november 1957 in residency building near Sun Temple,Morar.

The foundation stone of the main building of the institute on the present site was laid by first President of India Late Dr.Rajendra Prasad on october 28th(my birth day),1956.The institute shifted to the present building which was inauguratedby the then President Of India Late Dr.S.Radhakrishnan on December 11,1964.

There after state government of M.P. as well as Govt. of India paid varius grants in aid for the development of this institute.Consequently magnificient buildings and hostels have been built,extension of physical facilities,expansion of building space and provision of latest and modern equipments in the laboratories are being carried out.The institute is situated at Gola Ka Mandirnear Railway Station.
