| On Sandals A monthly sandal commentary |
| It's the Year of the Flip Flop I love sandals. You already know that because you've visited this site. I haven't been able to update my commentary section that often, but I am going to make an attempt to do so at the very least, once a month. This year, no matter where you go, there's a good chance you'll stroll upon a man wearing sandals--but, more specifically, flip flops. The other day, I took a trip to a local mall. Without question, for the first time ever, I'd have to say there were more guys wearing sandals than NOT wearing sandals. And the sandal of choice--flip flops. Guys shopping--and, more excitingly, guys working in all kinds of stores, were wearing flip flops. My favorite stop was at Eddie Bauer--three salesmen--all three, in sandals. All three, HOT sandaled feet. The simplicty, yet stylish nature of flip flops makes them the most ideal popular men's footwear in a long time. The right pair of leather flip flops can be worn with khakis--or, even dress pants. A cheaper pair--like those from the Gap, Old Navy, JCrew, can be worn with any summer ensemble--with shorts or jeans. I bought a pair recently from Old Navy. In past times, I thought flips exposed too much feet. But the sheer lightweight nature of these flip flops have made them my footwear of choice this summer. I tend to wear them, well, everywhere Of course, my favorite part of wearing flip flops is the slap sound they make on my heel/sole -- and I know many of you like that, too! It's the year of the flip flop. Mine aren't getting packed away this winter. I might just wear them year round. Sandals in NJ njsandals@hotmail.com |
