

The Qur'an is the central text of Islam. It is considered by Muslims to be a book of divine guidance and direction from Allah to mankind. The Qur'an is considered to be the perfect and final revelation from Allah, and a culmination of a series of religious texts which have been revealed to mankind over the ages. The Arabic texts of the Qur'an were revealed to the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), by the angel Jibrīl or Gabriel.
