(This May Be) The Last Poem I Ever Write You -5/02/04 All slaves of Time must fade and pass away I swore that I would never see you die I swore to love you till my dying day For all my best intentions: Just a lie. Can all the things I've felt just disappear And leave behind them not a gaping hole But rather, not a sign that you were here No sign that fire had dwelt inside my soul. A part of me defies the Lord above A part of me would cling to what is dead A part of me would kill itself with Love But the Ideal is what must die instead. Can, from this nothing, all things come once more Creation centered 'round a different core?
